... So, Rayquaza is emerald-green, Kyurem is grey, Zygarde is Z-shaped, and Necrozma is a star. How the fuck did we get Platinum after Diamond and Pearl? Hell, how the fuck can you call this a "platinum orb"? As if we didn't have enough yellow minerals with angular crystals (topaz and quartz as precious stones, amber as a yellowish mineraloid, even sulphur as a yellow angular thing associated with demons...)
Their world is not bound to the same standards as ours. Gold-colored platinum sounds far more probable than sentient, magical ice cream, ghosts made of pollution, all metallic monsters being "steel", wormholes to other dimensions and everyone being descended from cat fetuses in the grand scheme of things. Either way, they chose Platinum because, like Diamond and Pearl and to compliment Gold and Silver, platinum is a high-value metal. If anything, Pearl is the oddball among the three because pearls are biologically-created.
Diamonds are carbon, and carbon is not a metal. You can place pearls in rings and necklaces, like diamonds, but you won't use a piece of platinum as a gemstone. Pearls, in addition, are made of aragonite, which isn't organic. And mineralogy is pretty much chemistry with arbitrary bullshit still being used due to tradition anyway.

I was not implying that diamonds are a form of metal, just was poor wording.

And all three are universally known for being highly valued, with the very words bringing to mind the idea of value and wealth. There is a distinct correlation between them, and seeing as Gold and Silver called their "improved" edition Crystal, it could even be that Diamond and Pearl are hearkening to that with Platinum, but in reverse: G/S/C are precious metals peaked by jewels, D/P/Pt are precious materials bound by a valuable metal.
There was a significant update to Pokemon Shuffle if you haven't played in a while, where they changed the log-in rewards (if you log in 15 days straight you get a Jewel, and the other 14 days you get consumables) and added a leveling system where you get rewards (Jewels, consumables and some Mega Stones) based on how many Pokemon you capture. They also added a button to view the credits, which is leading some to believe the end of support for the game approaches. Oh and Ash will be getting Torracat soon and the class is entering Ultra Space. [t]https://serebii.net/corocoro2181.jpg[/t] But I could honestly give a crap about that and can't wait for Gainsbug vs Bewear. [editline]•[/editline] Pointy Boi is a new DLC fighter in Pokken DX, and Blastoise will be coming somewhere down the line. So, what would you think about this Pokeblock-only berries/contest stats/EV reducing berries/Apricorn rework?
Level lowering would be 10/10 if it brought back a Pomeg glitch type effect. As for the rest of it, how are you going to change Vitamins to account for berries now just being straight up better than them in that they're free (I mean sure Vitamins are also essentially free endgame, but you do actually have to do something to acquire them whilst berries are earned passively)?
I wouldn't have EV boosting in berry shape, just happiness and contest conditions. Mostly for Feebas, but also flavor. Also, it seems they have some measures in place with changing max HP; you can restore a Zygarde to full health by shifting between 10 and 50 % formes, after all.

The box legends and most of the trios (save Landorus and Suicune) will be distributed throughout 2018, starting with Dialga and Palkia in February at GAME/Gamestop. This marks the release of Shiny Zygarde.
Shouldn't legendary pokemon mean something in terms of rarity? They are literally handouts now.
Shouldn't legendary pokemon mean something in terms of rarity? They are literally handouts now.
Well if you buy the games after or miss the event you won't get them.
Dialga and Palkia will be at Gamestop in February
Shouldn't legendary pokemon mean something in terms of rarity? They are literally handouts now.
Even that would be better than how Pokémon Go is handling the Mewtwo raid lottery. Hooboy.
The reason they're handing these specific pokemon out is that the Wormhole legendaries are partly version exclusive. That's why suicune, landorus, giratina and rayquaza are not given out.

" What a great system.

Getting real tired of "here's a level 100 legendary" because then I can't really do anything with it.

To the surprise of negative amount of people. He also gets a half shadow faceplace.
EV's not applying until level up has been fixed for 3 generations now.
I mean not to sound rude but, what does that mean and why does that matter
I mean not to sound rude but, what does that mean and why does that matter
Every Pokemon you KO during the story campaign and in wild battles gives an effort value (EV), which goes up to 252, but all Pokemon can have a maximum of 510. These used to be applied to stat boots when you evolve, but was changed to when the battle ends; and since Pokemon who hit the level cap couldn't be EV boosted to the maximum, they were basically worthless.

This basically meant that you couldn't actually EV train anything you obtained at level 100, making it pretty useless. Now stats are recalculated every time you deposit/withdraw something in the PC. The most notable example is that in Gen 4 it used to be illegal to have an Arceus with over 100 EV's in any stat, until a recent glitch was found which made it possible to actually activate the proper event for it and get it at level 80. The system is also totally different in Gen 1/2.
I still find mindblowing how they passed the opportunity to have Cresselia as an Ultra Moon exclusive, rather than having Regigigas of all things as Heatran's counterpart. Hell, Heatran and Cresselia have genders just because, and a mythical quite close to them in concept (granted, Darkrai is far closer to Cresselia than Volcanion could be to Heatran). And they fit the Sun and Moon theme quite well. Vapor for brains I tell you. And Version Exclusive legendaries have felt awkward ever since Ruby and Sapphire, NOBODY would trade Kyogre or Groudon away. I still think a postgame story with the evil team going after OTHER legendaries would be welcome. Complete with more dungeons, and expanded early game areas. Alola was too small, and everything circled around the Island Challenge.
Regigigas is probably one of my favorite legendaries. It's such a shame his ability makes him pretty terrible.
Regigigas is probably one of my favorite legendaries. I loved the Regis and the crytic discovery of them, and was really hoping their trio-leader would be a lot cooler.
Mmm, what if Slow Start worked by lowering attack and speed by 2 stages upon entering battle, but then, at the end of each turn until the 4th-5th in, each of those stats increased by a stage? So, Slow Start would make you start at -2, but, after enduring it, you'd be at +2 (or, had you set up Mist beforehand, at +4). Just like Truant; have it be something interesting, rather than just a penalty: Make it trigger after attacking (so it wouldn't trigger after using Support moves, feel free to Yawn or Slack Off), have the loafing around turn override other conditions (so you can switch out after using Giga Impact), restore some HP or lowered characteristics in said turn... hell, even make it so charge moves require no charge before being executed. If we have complicated abilities like Mold Breaker or Sheer Force around, those two could be reworked into something with more depth than an outright penalty.

Something like Regigigas always moves last within it's bracket but can use charge moves with no charge-up time or cooldown. Though I wasn't sure whether STAB, no cooldown hyperbeam and giga impact might be pushing it.
Can Slow Start be immediately nullified with Mist at all?
