oh thank god, that wasn't the main-RPG game. it seems I let my autism get the better of me for a while there

So the mainline RPG still does not have a name yet, but these other two paired games seem to be a continuation of GO, but on the Switch. I imagine they wanted to do something like this since its release in 2016, but they were too busy with Gen VI to develop anything for the Switch.
I hope they'll still have pokemon followers in the mainline games. That'd be a nice thing to keep. Also pokemon cosmetics. I want to see a blastoise in a tuxedo.
Different games for different player bases. That's kind of a fair way to make the series more accessible. If they're going in that direction, I wonder what the mainline Gen VIII games will play like.
It'll be interesting to see how battling will work considering the halved movesets in Pokemon Go.
Man, ever since the shift to 3D I've been pretty underwhelmed with how they've adapted the artstyle. I was hoping for a revamp since it's on Switch now but I'm still disappointed.

I can't quite place it but the older games just oozed a lot more charm and character? It just feels kinda generic and stale at the moment. Maybe it's a case of nostalgia goggles but it just used to look so crisp and perfect and I really miss the style.
lmao i woke up to a new pokemon game i'm gonna skip
it is a game to hook PokemonGO players to a Switch so when the next core game announces they are eligible for the hype train.
Colors are surprisingly tame and light. I took it to photoshop and pushed the vibrance all the way up and it looks way better,
Gen6 and 7 didn't have this problem me thinks. The color problem, that is, sense of scale degraded when they moved from the chibi overworld style.
I dunno' I quite like the games from a visual standpoint at least. The trainer models have lot more personality than SuMo and the environments have a kinda' painted quality to them. This is probably the best pokemon has looked in a 3D game, I'd be down for if the next full releases having a similar look.
Either way, can't say I'm surprised that these leaks turned out to be legit. Sounded like exactly the kinda' thing Gamefreak would do. I would like to believe that the existence of this game means they can tone down the Gen I pandering in the next mainline game, but I have very little faith that that will actually be the case.
This one isn't trying to capture the artstyle of the original games and isn't trying to capture the style of the main games. It's trying to do a cross between the GO style and the older titles while being in 3D.
Let's wait for the core title to be revealed.
I personally don't mind if that is the art direction they are heading, it kind of reminds me of Pokepark
They will most likely use the adult approach of Sun and Moon for the core title. Next logical step as this one feels like a step back. But I'm sure they used this one to make it look different enough from the normal editions.

Wild Pikachu and Eevees evolve, the starter Pokemon does not.
Well Eeveelutions, welcome to the Raichu club!
No seriously, CP telling jackshit and only having Kanto Pokemon is stuff GO players aren't fond of (weren't in the second case).
If we don't get following Pokemon in the real game I'm going to be nettled.
Also, I am an active GO player. The gameplay is swallow, and the metagame consists on stockpiling the best counter for each legendary raid, or Machamps to deal with the Blissey AND Chansey in every gym. Oh, and Go-only players probably won't buy a switch...
LGP/E is an attempt. Way better than expecting them to jump straight into a core game and get intimidated by 20 years of cumulated mechanics.
It looks like a fun time-waster but, eh.
I wonder what the plot is?
because this game can be an offline game right?
They said it was based on pokemon yellow so probably just a retelling of it?
