I'm not saying what we got is bad, just that there is something...odd about it. I don't know how to describe it but I always felt that way about it even as a kid back when gold and silver were new.
A collaboration was done by a few members of the Pokemon community to recreate the betamons in Sugimori's style. (Contains several official pieces of artwork for the mons that ended up unchanged)

"They can't keep getting away with this." Says gamer as company artificially inflates sales numbers for the 17th time.
You literally can't get a full game experience without both copies. Also a lot of hardcore fans will buy both copies.
But it's still a little gimped experience, when you only have one, because usually it was "and these really rare pokemon are exclusive to this version." And no on is going to trade their Latios for your Latias. Like someone said before, they want both.
That said, they recently have been doing this better. Black/White having Black 2 and White 2 to round off the mascot legendaries (but not the forces of nature, for whatever reason), and the regular ones you can just trade. Sun/Moon at least let you get another Cosmog and trade the evolved Cosmoem to a friend with another version (are we still spoiler tagging this?) to get the other legendary, and multiple Ultra Beasts.
Basically more often than not, Pokemon are locked off that if you want it, you either have to have very generous friends, or get the second version. It helped that I got Ultra Sun after playing Moon, but I was still disappointed in that but that's just because the Ultra games brought very little to the table compared to what we've past seen.
I don't know you but i never bought Gold or Sapphire or White. Even as a kid i was so satisfied. You had other friends who bought other versions etc.

I had a feeling this was the case. They definitely wanted to expand to casual audiences with Let's Go and change up the core formula in those two games rather than shake up the mainline titles and divide playerbases.
So... hopefully no more super-long tutorials?
Yeah so the Build-a-Bear Jigglypuff got announced.

Hurrah double posting. This is somewhat actual news though.

While the mentions in Famitsu are no brainers (will feature many new Pokemon etc), a mention that the new games will have the best graphics of the series yet.
as much I want to hold onto my 3ds (been collecting dust for a long while now), I don't particularly mind them moving up the hardware chain. The Switch is effectively a hybrid anyway.
The Switch is pretty much the new handheld, and Pokemon starting a new gen in it pretty much means the 3DS will start to fade away soon enough.
Which I'm okay with. The Switch has become the two-in-one, so stop making me carry around the old One.
It's about fucking time we get a Pokemon game on relatively strong hardware.
I hope so. It was only a matter of time.

You pick which one, probably Smooth Criminal though.
Oh my god that's the best thing since DENNIS in 2010.
If all these QOL features don't get carried over to the core game next year I will RIOT
all in all game looks good but wild battle is ruined
Hopefully there is a toggle for EXP all in the wild encounters
Just allow me to get that Exp Share in the actual gen VIII games, so I can powerlevel in the postgame, and keep my team of 6 at the same level, rather than having to take my time to grind.
