Poison/Psychic or Poison/Fairy would've been nice.
Anything to get unused type combinations rolling. We can have 4 Grass/Ghost Pokemon lines introduced in two gens but Sunflora can't be a Grass/Fire type.
Also Psychic is such a weird type to me honestly because some Pokemon just have it and I'm not sure why (Lugia being Psychic instead of Water? Though it would have given it type advantage over Ho-oh, but still), Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi just scream "fairy" but they got Psychic instead since Fairy didn't exist yet. Same with the Lake Trio.
Some Pokemon got fairy and it confused me a bit (Mr. Mime, Gardevoir), but I felt like they used "Psychic" as a substitute for "Fairy" a lot.
I was hoping they would go wild on weird typing combinations with UBs, considering they're aliens and all.
Not gonna lie, I was a bit underwhelmed with UB. I got the impression of "They're these mythical beings beyond our comprehension, we have no idea what they are, not a single clue!" and then they're just legendary Pokemon that fight like Pokemon and use regular Pokemon moves, except they have this wild backstory.
I'm not sure what I expected, but it felt like "these aren't Pokemon, they're Ultra Beasts!"
I feel like UBs were only made so that Gamefreak could design Pokemon that don't follow their regular design rules and nothing else.
Not that I'm entirely complaining. Buzzwole is a beautifully designed creature.

Still my favorite.
only 90s kids will remember this pokemon

Why would they "need" an excuse to do that, though?
It's really heartwarming guiding my mom when she needs it with Gold since it came out on Virtual Console. It was my first Pokemon game and it's cute seeing my mom play it 14 years later.
At the moment she's at the Elite Four, and a victim of Johto's terrible level curve.

If you ask me Buzzwole out of all the UBs could pass as a regular Pokemon the best.
Buzzwole? Really? Tiny lil oragami thing just needs some cute cartoon eyes like oddish and it would totally pass as a new normal mon

Yeah but that's the thing, Kartana doesn't.
UB Assembly has a horrible typing. I feel it's gonna be pooled in the same area that normal Aggron is, and that's if it has good-enough defense.
Assembly gets to join other Pokemon like Rypherior, Probopass, and like literally half the Ice types in the "I was made to wall but die in one hit because I have a billion weaknesses" family.
Rhyperior's highest stat is its attack, just like Rhydon beforehand. Hell, even Golem and Aggron were always built to be a bulky attacker.
Onix was the one who was made to wall. Or rather, to be the thumbcard of the first gym leader that pretty much forced you to use special attacks. And Nosepass was Onix 2.0.
I can't find the source but apparently James Turner confirmed he designed Adhesive and had nothing to do with Burst or Assembly.
Yeah but that's the thing, Kartana doesn't.
If I add lil cartoon eyes to buzzwole he still looks like a big buff out of place not-pokemon bug.
I mean I love it for that but I just find Kartana way closer if all it needs are eyes.
I guess Game Freak forgot to put communication support with Mystery Gift in the VC version of Gen II :v:
Welp, there goes the only repeatable method to get evolution stones outside of Crystal.
Good to see that they carry on the theme of ghost types being fucking disturbing/creepy even in Ultra Space with UB-Burst. It acts in a bubbly manner and uses its colors to draw people *mainly children* close only to blow up IT'S HEAD in their face and then proceeds to drain them dry of their vitality/life-force. Literally Killer Clowns from Outer Space.

Can't you buy the stones at the Celedon Department Store? It's far from preferred considering it's the postgame but you can do it.
Can't you buy the stones at the Celedon Department Store? It's far from preferred considering it's the postgame but you can do it.
That's only in Gen I and III. In II, and more specifically Gold and Silver, the only repeatable way to get stones is by Mystery Gift.
Mystery gift is still present in Gen 2 VC. You just need to visit a girl in the goldenrod Department Store to activate it first.
As for the communication support, you use the 3ds' ir port this time, and a 2nd 3ds.

Remember today is the day for spooky boy in the US, the event started yesterday for Europe.
Does anyone have an EU spare marshadow code?

Different dates in different countries?
Usually some get physical serial events earlier than others.

That would be awesome ! I have some spare legendaries in the bank to make it worth for you !
I went to Gamestop to get Marshadow and I found God in the clearance bin. Lots of plushes are on sale now I guess and it's buy one get one free, I would have walked out with the Dalai Llama but getting a really good look at the plush quality it's really stiff. That's said, there were some codes here for a marshmallow, but are now taken.
