"We don't go to Ravenholm... " "Well, okay, occasionally we do... " "But I mean, we usually try to avoid it" "It's just a bad area, man..." "Why? Oh, you'll see why in a second." Player kills their first zombie, then suddenly "... Yeah, see what we mean?"
I recorded another soundbite which might serve as a fun replacement for that one Citizen conversation. Y'know, the one about the combine seizing their neighborhood and everything? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55034583/CitizenNeighboorhoodConvo.wav
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1xEEMVnFhvg Friend wanted me to throw in his Barney the friendly Metrocop for him. Can also do a mean 30's style radio broadcaster voice when asked nicely
If you just want to test your own lines for a quick video, drop them in "/Half-Life 2/hl2/custom/voicestuff/". As for the actual mod, we have started making a working repository so far and will be adding some stuff to it soon, might take some time, since we gotta organize a few things.
I have full quality versions of the music I've done, don't download it from soundcloud
As much as I love that it isn't really a "voice enhancement". It's damn good as it's own standalone mod though.
i recorded new lines but they're too long for the cutscene :(
Made another thing Download
Breen: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1QfjKXCA6uR
You sound a lot like David Hayter as Snake in this. I kinda want Breen as Solid Snake now.

Sorry, I just had to get the memes out of my system, done for now. Download
Odessa Cubbage, first few lines. I was also thinking of doing this speech as a kind of infomercial salesman, but went with this first as it was easier to record in a house full of people. My audio recording is somewhat limited, so this might need some cleaning up. I didn't get what you were going for until the very last one, and honestly the surprise of that was great. You should just slowly ramp it up. Start off just normal and by the end just fuckin' try to make the player as uncomfortable as you possibly can
I'll be honest. I really enjoy the thought of doing a reimagining of the characters and remaking their voicework.. But too many people contributing have terrible mic quality for it. It's really cringey when any of your "s" consonants make my ears twinge because it's crackling.
Has anyone found a way to circumvent the timing restrictions on dialogue? Say that my new voice file is longer or shorter than the original. Is there any simple way to adjust the timings during scripted sequences without making heavy edits to the map itself?

A thousand times this. Any mod with bad voice acting is doomed to make anyone who knows about audio cringe. If you have a bad mic--don't worry. There's plenty of opportunity for distorted radio chatter where the noise won't matter as much (and will probably contribute to the effect).
Protip: Socks over a mic can be an ok pop filter
maybe my mic isn't the best for such an iconic line

Otherwise it tends to make crazy static. Not sure what to do when it's longer, though. I'll do retakes and cut words/silences out so that it fits.
I don't really have a good mic, so can I be Gordon Freeman?
Question: Do you guys think it'd be good if Barney was voiced by a William Shatner sound-alike and whenever he does a pause his model goes in various poses?
I wouldn't mind doing some sound effects for the world. (Generators, computers, etc. Maybe physic sounds) I assume we just post here for auditions?

Can I be DMX as Eli Vance?
