Newbie questions again:
If I go as a dark side republic, will I have issues with companions?
RP server?
Well, guess people just roleplaying assholes. Bet they also pick all DS dialog options.
I considered rerolling on Red Eclipse or Freedon Nadd when I happened across a sample of roleplay on the starting planet.
So I've decided I'm gonna make my character a droid. And 500k later I still have 2 pieces I can't get until level 54.

I've changed my mind about RPing. At least not without a dedicated guild.

I expected the worst after pedos in Tera. Still horrible though, RE doesn't seem like ultimate cringe club anymore.
All classes are mirriored for both sides, the difference is only visual.
fuck ninja'd
that's TECHNICALLY not true but the differences are so minor that it's not a big issue
(at lower levels when you don't have your hit appropriately capped, if you're a gunslinger one of your guns can miss, which is annoying, but I think at 55 it evens out)
that being said, gunslingers look WAY better
what happened to the bounty terminal in the cartel bazaar on the imperial fleet? Its no longer in its original position and most people are saying it has been moved to the vip lounge. is that true?
I don't even have local chat enabled when on the faction fleets anymore. I chose a RP server because I find that people are nicer on there.
For the first time I made a Marauder. Now I don't know what spec to choose. Rage seems to be easy enough and with great AoE DPS, so right now I'm leveling it.
Marauder is my bread and butter!
For leveling, Annihilation tree is the best tree to start with by far. At level 21 you get Deadly Saber which is one of the cornerstones of the spec, as well as Rupture which you get earlier. With these two abilities you are loaded to go. In Juyo form, Berserk makes all your bleeds crit, and you have a talent that makes all bleeds that critically hit heal you. So not only are you doing massive damage from bleeds, you are getting healed as well. You are able to do all of this at level 21, which is excellent for leveling.
Now, when you reach level 29, you have the option to start using the Rage tree. At level 29 you can get 3/3 on the Shockwave talent which buffs the damage on your Smash when you use Berserk. There is also another talent previous to this that makes your Smash automatically crit after you use Force Charge or Obliterate. With these two talents combined, you have an AoE attack that will hit for massive damage. At around level 30 it should be hitting for around 4k. Unfortunately you can only do this when you use Berserk. However, at 45 you get Force Crush which also give you Shockwave stacks, so you can effectively do back to back, high damaging Smashes.
Finally, you have the Carnage tree. This tree does amazing damage, but it has a rather high skill cap because of the amount of rage it uses. Also, it's not worth it to use the tree until level 45 when you can get Massacre. The Carnage tree revolves around the extra attacks from Ataru form, as well as your Gore windows. Massacre guarantees that Ataru from procs, which significantly reduces the reliance on RNG. I would avoid this tree in the beginning.
For endgame PvE, Annihilation and Carnage are the specs you will focus on mostly. Annihilation puts out the most damage of all the specs, and will be used most often. Carnage is used on fights that require a lot of target switching, or a lot of burst windows. Annihilation has to build it's damage through stacking bleeds and from Juyo and Annihilate stacks. Carnage unloads all of it's damage at once with two back to back burst windows.
Here is a parse I did last night in Annihilation spec: http://www.torparse.com/a/594709/2/0/Overview I did this parse with no Stims or Adrenals, and in Underworld/Arkanian gear.
So I was doing an Esseles run, Vokk dropped a rifle and aim mod. I was the only trooper in group and only one who pressed Need. Then suddenly smuggler started crying about me being a dick, having pathetic life and all that. Because he wanted that stuff for Corso, but I rightfully claimed it.
Those fucking people on RE, damn.
He didn't even press Need but still got mad at you for getting it? Weird.
Who the hell even gears their companion from Flashpoints. That's just a dick move to all others who want it.
Shit, I'd even give that stuff to him if he asked politely. I already had a CD-35 rifle and mod wasn't really needed. But instead he whined about my "dick move" and that I was touched in a head when I was born.
It's weird. In my experience, the Empire side's players get along quite nicely, while the Republic side's players seem to argue a hell of a lot.

I don't really understand how some people think that being a vitriolic nerde is the way to act on the internet.
Fuck that pylon map. We always have 1 person guarding, and they never call out when it's being attacked. We stay in the lead till the last minute, the enemy takes it, and we lose.
i have put in waaay to many hours of this game
How to get tons of MvPs in PvP:
Be any healer ever
Be any DPS ever
Don't be a tank or tanky class

Pretty much. Have they fixed that issue with Vanguard/PTs being able to pretty much get all the perks of the mid tree then just run Ion Cell and guard everything? I've been without proper net for way too long now.
Wow, the beginning of Chapter 3 of the Sith Warrior storyline is really fucking expected.
Like not even a twist.
Well yeah, i mean it's pretty core to the sith culture.
The reddit post has a bunch of reasons why it is fake.
Is it viable to level up by only doing flashpoints (including KDY) and sometimes PvP (sometimes because f2p restriction)? Thought I could get to 50 without questing which bored me to shit.
if you want to level without being bored, chaining flashpoints is not the ideal way to do it
in theory if you load up on a ton of xp boosts and got guildmates to help you could just spam kuat driveyard or whatever it's called

Well, I was planning to wait for double XP which is happening next month anyway.
I'd actually love to try this powerlevel guide, but I don't have any 55 friends.

Got my first toon to 50. Geared a bit in Makeb mods.
Should I be going to Ilum, Black Hole, or Makeb?
Cutscene became a lot less important due to the half nudity

So much for being Grand Master of the Jedi Order.
Also isn't [sp]Malcolm[/sp] is the trooper guy who you meet in Alderaan bonus series and in Republic CGI trailer?
Oh, and I like Theron's jacket, my old slinger would look good in it.
and Makeb bonus series.
Well, I don't have RotHC, so I didn't know.
When's double XP gonna be up, by the way?
So is F2P still borderline unplayable? How's the player count these days?
If you're Preferred, you bought unlocks from GTN or Cartel Market (and RotHC as well), can cope with restrictions that can't be removed (like credit cap or less XP/legacy XP) and you have friends to level and do group content with, then it's playable. But it's a lot easier to just buy a sub.
As for player count, you mean is there a lot of people playing SWTOR? Well, pretty much yes.
