General consensus seems to be that the trooper is one of the weakest stories
been playing swtor with a friend, despite what people say, we do VERY well in pvp:

Pretty much.
It was ok for the first 2 chapters, chapter 3 is boring as hell story wise.
Though I really liked the Voss story.
I kinda want to get in to the expansion stories now, though I only have a few quests left on Corellia.
Gotta say though, I hope they balance out ranged and melee DPS, considering how much stronger ranged is compared to melee atm.

Yeah i think for me the two worst stories were definitely Consular + Trooper.
Agent is hands down the best one with it's like 7 fucking endings holy shit it was so good. Inquisitor i loved too because it played like a DBZ episode where you're constantly clawing at power, Sith Warrior had a suprising amount of changes that made it really fresh to replay it through as the opposite alignment.
You won't convince me to return to that game, damn you

I know you want to go to Makeb, planet of the homosex.

My good man, could you make a 1360x768 version of this?

[QUOTE=Big Dumb American;46985535]Been playing this the last day or so, and having a nice time. I'm stuck in that cycle where I keep making new characters because I want to try out different classes and origin stories. The Sith Inquisitor origin is my favorite so far, but I'm feeling the Republic Trooper with his big gun a lil bit more as far as gameplay goes. Dunno![/QUOTE]
I'm the same, I've just made an imperial agent, a jedi knight and a jedi sage
Nothing will ever be as powerful as my marauder though

Bounty Hunter's is also pretty weak tbh
Imp Agent is the best by far

You're going to love or hate Inquisitor story during Chapter 2.
[sp]It depends on your liking of Ghostbusters.[/sp]

bounty hunter or go home
Does the Imperial Agent play like the Smuggler? Or are there any major differences?
[editline]23rd January 2015[/editline]
I've yet to play with a character on the Imperial side
IA is the Imperial equivilant of the Smuggler.
So there are no differences at all?
Also, is it possible to send armor you bought via the cartel market per mail to your other characters?
Every class in The Old Republic mirrors his/her Imperial/Republic counterpart: the skills are the same, only with different names and graphical effects
Also, an important difference could be the gear general appearence: for example, late smuggler gear tends to make your character look like a pimp boss, while late Imperial agent pieces are often about long coats with some hi-tech elements
About the possibility to send cartel gear to other characters, I think it depends on the gear itself: some pieces are bound to the purchasing character and are locked to anyone else, while others are free to go. I can't tell the difference, though
These Flashpoint missions are rad. Way longer than I expected, but still very cool. What I dig the most about this game is that it's an MMO that still feels a lot like a single player game. The dialog scenes and moral choices and whatnot give it a solo RPG twist, and the way they managed to hold onto that in group cutscenes with Flashpoints is dope.
Of course, if you ever needed a reminder that you're NOT enjoying a solo RPG experience, the dude in your group who harangues you for an hour-long mission because you're not skipping the dialog should suffice.

Wish Bounty Hunters had a better story.
That said I do respect the simplicity of "BECOME THE BEST BIG-DICK BOUNTY HUNTER IN THE GALAXY".
Guys, I'm a level 22 Jedi tank on Nar Shaddaa and I can't be arsed to do more than 2 or 3 quests a day. It's just "go there and destroy that / get that" over and over and over again right now. And skipping quests / focussing on the main story only seems like a bad idea, now that I get less xp for everything because I'm not a subscriber. Any advice? Are the following planets more entertaining?
When I hear from other people about which class story they liked or disliked, I think many players base their preferences to how certain acts of those stories play out. As to say, a class story has a bad act somehwere and is considered bad. Let me give you two spoiler-free examples
The first act of the bounty hunter story is great, with your character reciving a very likeable starting companion, an annoying nemesis and a clear goal in sight (which happens to make sense to your job description), plenty of twists. After that, comes the second act: the only thing you do is to take up special bounties, and being a bh that's pretty much what you do all the time, inside or outside the class story. The whole thing mainly sets up the fabolous third act, where you score what is basically the bounty of the century
On the other side of the spectrum, the Jedi Consular arguably gets the worst first act ever. Not only it lacks many traits that make the other classes' stories first parts compelling (a quest that connects every planet you visit, a nemesis you are bound to hate, ...), but it also shoves away the whole "Consulars are ambassadors and military leaders" in favor of what is basically a fetch quest (you visit the resident Jedi master of each planet because something dark is breaking out), with the final villain being revealed at the last moment and dispatched quickly. On the other hand, the second and third acts put your character in a position of power and things get on a galactic scale

I mean that quest design is pretty core to the game, the other planets are progressively more interesting than nar shadda though.

TBH I like all of the class stories for generally different reasons. I feel like they do the core theme of each class decent justice.
I don't get why people hate Nar Shaddaa, it's basically my favorite planet: if anything, the quests design is much more linear than the dreadful Balmorra
I'm personally not a fan of the layout of Nar Shadaa.
[editline]26th January 2015[/editline]
My all time favorite vanilla planet has got to be Belsavis, in terms of story, layout, theme.

Yeah, it didn't bother me before, but on Nar Shaddaa it's annoying as shit. Maybe because it is split up in like 6 sectors or something. Seems like I'm more of a nature guy, cause Tython and Taris were awesome. Ord Mantell was also pretty cool. These city planets aren't my thing. What's the next stop after NS?

if you're into the nature you're gonna love like belsavis and voss
From someone who might want to get into this for the story missions, how limited is this for F2Pers?
Pretty, i mean you get a straight up 25% exp nerf eventually.

In other news, my old guild's name had a bit of a revival, alot of new blood but we've actually gotten some minor hardmode progression to count for the guild again
