Do you have Shadow of Revan? Should be a mission called Prelude/prologue to Shadow of Revan or something on your ship. Or go level more characters to 55.
I'm a subscriber, but I don't have SoR.
I'm a subscriber, but I don't have SoR.
Then I say either buy it, or wait until October when Subscribers get it for free. Until then level some classes you have not already to 55.
I'm a subscriber, but I don't have SoR.
I'd have to say that Shadow of Revan was quite fantastic compared to the other content in the game, especially if you've been holding out for interesting characters with progression. But, you might as well wait for KotFE since you'll get it for free.
Eh, SoR was alright. The Rishi part was good, but Yavin and the way they handled Revan was just... poor in my opinion.
Shadow of Revan wasn't about Revan to me. It was about potential in alliances and an opportunity for Bioware to introduce characters with better depth than the characters we had in vanilla gameplay. Here's to hoping a majority, if not all, those characters make it back into KotFE as fulltime companions like Lana is confirmed to be.
I know Revan's an important character but honestly, I wish they were never included in TOR. Same with the Exile. It kind of hurts to see the characters I played as running around and making decisions without me.

Satele and Theron and such are good enough.

I'm glad SoR will like be the last time Bioware tried to force Revan as relevant in this game.
I gave my cyborg Imperial agent a new hobby
I started playing yesterday (Jedi Sentinel best) and just got out of Coruscant - fuck that place. It almost made me quit the game. Running back and fourth between quests over and over. Tythlon? (sp?) was an awesome quest line. I really enjoyed it and was massively disappointed by Coruscant. Moving on now so I'm hoping it's way better.

But the thing is absolutely dreadful for experienced players with alts because you are basically spending for each planet the 20% of your time doing something fresh you enver did before and the other 80% something you have done over and over again already It also doesn't help that the first proper planet you land into for both faction (Taris for the Republic and Balmorra for the Empire) are arguably the planets with the worst quests design

I've just landed on Oro Mantell and was looking forward to getting away from the way Coruscant did things. I'm still enjoying the game and I think once I get a speeder I'll enjoy it a little more. I'm still weighing up pro's and con's on getting a subscription at the moment. Oh and the first Flashpoint was amazing! I didn't expect it to be that long and the ship coming into view was awesome!
Don't worry because the experience will be great on your first character regardless because the planetary questlines are interesting as well It's when you start to create several alts (something you need to do to experience the very different class stories) that the MMORPG syndrome kicks in
This is why the 12x XP boost for Subscribers is great. You don't need to do any side quests. Just do your Story.
I'm actually thinking about subscribing to take advantage of it If I can ask, can you actually survive your journey through level 50 with that bonus experience alone? How do your companions get geared?
Decided to get a subscription but it keeps giving me a purchase error? Anyone know why?
If I can ask, can you actually survive your journey through level 50 with that bonus experience alone? How do your companions get geared?
You get enough Commendations from mission rewards (if you choose to take them) to buy mods for yourself and your companion. I usually go buy new mods every 10 levels or so. Mods are 2 Commendations apiece, so find yourself some cheap modifiable gear. The Cybernetic gear usually goes cheap on the GTN If you have a lot of comms on another character, buy a bunch of gear/mods from a comms vendor, put them in your Legacy bank (you get a free one by doing the Stronghold tutorial quest) grab them on your Alt, and sell them back at the comms vendor to get the comms back. the Bonus XP also applies on the main Mekeb quests and lasts until you hit level 55.
The only downside would be not being able to farm companions reputation that much, but what the hell, I'm in
Well, you can always go back to the planets some time in the future just to do the conversations, you'll be such high level you will breath on the enemies and they'll die. Or just buy companion gifts.
Got my first speeder! :D
More KOTFE music, sounds great
Glad to see that they are going to be continuing with live orchestra since Revan didn't have that.
This is the reason I'm prevented from subscribing to the game. This has been going on for a week now I've contacted TOR's support and I was told that the reason is my SW:TOR and Origin account aren't connected properly. Therefore I contacted EA live support and they linked the two properly, but I've still the issue And the bonus exp will disappear in a month [editline]Today[/editline] Apparently it was an issue with an old account. It's a long story
Alright, so I've been testing this x12 epic class story experience boost first hand and see if you can really level up till the end of your hero of choice story without any trouble. I'm on a Sith marauder at the moment The experience you get by doing class quests alone is more than enough: I'm constantly two or three levels above the quests requirements The only three issues about utsing the boost are the abysmal quantity of credits you can make in the long run (which aren't that important though, given class skills are free and you'll have plenty to buy for travels and speeders anyway), the other quests you are forgoing (like the nearly ALL your companions conversations and some questlines that ARE refererred to later on if you've done them, like the Revanite one on Dromund Kass) and the absolute necessity to use the commendations you are given wisely and sometimes search for extra gear in other ways, like doing flashpoints, for instance All in all, I'd totally suggest the bost if you want to experience a class story but don't want to get involved with the toon past level 50 or you already have a chara with the same class and want to try a different allignment/choices
One suggestion I saw for gear was not to buy any until you cannot progress without buying new gear because you're dying too much. Should save you some comms. I usually have at least 60 by the time I need new mods for my gear.
So yeah, (KOTFE) [sp]it's 90% confirmed that Darth Marr dies at the start of KOTFE... If we lose fucking Marr and that piece of shit Satele doesn't bite it, Imma riot.[/sp] [sp]Apparently, according to some datamining, there was an achievement to save him, but it seems impossible to do that, so it was probably cut content. And people think he might have survived, but it looked kinda final.[/sp]

I wish high level inquisitor gear looked better :C [editline]26th September 2015[/editline] Also, here's a boatload of datamined items coming to the cartel market, some rad looking shit in there. https://torcommunity.com/database/update-previews/1003-cartel-market-items-in-kotfe I don't care if this is more warrior-y, I'm using it on my inquisitor. Or at least the helmet. [t]http://i.imgur.com/bHOwcpJ.png[/t] The Shadow Disciple mask is cool too. [editline]26th September 2015[/editline] Shame it's still more sith-y armors. Jedi don't seem to get much love nowadays.
I don't like the Pauldrons on the warrior armour. infact I dislike most pauldrons in the game. [editline]26th September 2015[/editline] I like the new thin bladed sabres in the cartel market. There is even a shoto sabre. [editline]26th September 2015[/editline] That is the racing speeder from KOTOR1 [editline]26th September 2015[/editline] I want some new armour for my Guardian, visually I mean. Been using that Valiant Jedi set from the cartel market and I want something new. Nothing crazy, something that still looks 'Jedi'
I like the new thin bladed sabres in the cartel market. There is even a shoto sabre.
I wish there was a non-attenuated shoto. Not a fan of the thin blades but always wanted a shorter lightsaber for my sorcerer... And technically it's not actually a shoto, it's still too long :v: [editline]26th September 2015[/editline] I wish we could get a lightsaber pike too, the knights use them in KOTFE and it looks AWESOME. [editline]26th September 2015[/editline]
That is the racing speeder from KOTOR1
You get this is if you are sub by October 9th. As far as we know it's the only way you'll be able to get it.
