The main downside is that playing F2P really sucks. I'd recommend subbing if you can.[/QUOTE]
Hi im new too, and if i play it will be as ftp, what is the downside to being one
also in other mmos im used to playing mdps and tanks and am wondering if their are any classes like that here i was intrested in the empire side at sith marauders and warriors and the trooper and just want to know if they are any good
The downsides to being Free to Play in TOR:
Sprint only available after level 10
1 crew skill, not 3
Limited access to fast travel to fleet
No cargo hold (Bank storage) Unless you pay real money. (Expandable via in game credits for subs)
200,000 credit cap (Not enough to buy any Pay items off the trade house)
Only limited talking on origin worlds
Receive mail, no sending
No player to player trading
You can only list TWO items at any one time on the trade network
Respeccing costs credits
2 character slots (Though this may have increased since KotFE)
You have to pay to access operations every week
5 PvP matches per week unless you do the same as above, buy a weekly pass. No ranked warzones.
Full rewards from 3 flashpoints (Group instances) unless you buy weekly pass
3 space missions per week. Unless buy a pass
You can only expand your inventory with Cartel Coins, instead of CC or Credits
Longer cooldown on quick traveling
No access to mounts until later
You can only revive at the nearest med center only. You can revive in the field 5 times. Period.
Cannot equip purple items (Everything good is purple. All of it. Everyone at early mid to end game has purples)
Less XP, though since KotFE this isn't an issue
No rest XP
Limited access to quick bars. Yes that's right. UI Quickbar restrictions
Can't equip event awards
Costs more to remove mods from gear
Can't unify colors
Can't hide head slot
Can't display titles
If all you care about is the stories, and that's IT, F2P is fine. If you plan to play any more than that, Subbing is a must
that....really bites
The worst Free to Play model that exists. It's Free to Try and maybe as far as Free to Enjoy the stories, now. But beyond that it's not worth playing unless you Sub. If you Sub all those restrictions are gone, and you get access to Hutt Cartel, Shadow of Revan, and the new Knights of the Fallen Empire expansions, and the level cap of 65 instead of 50
As someone who used to play this on launch chiming in, it's honestly a very solid MMO and I'm not exactly an MMO person. It kept me engaged even before they adjusted the XP gains and such to the point I leveled 3 characters through.
Your playtime will vary based off your free-time and your interest in it. I was playing it all day, daily, for a good few months myself back when I had that time and interest. It's very addictive and fun and they've added in a lot more end-game content for all which is something that severely lacked.
Try it out, if you're enjoying it, sub for a month and then see how you feel on the unrestricted game. It's not bad at all and they're offering even more. If not for FO4 coming to soak up my immediate future, I'd probably reinvest in a sub to this game and dabble in it between work and lyfe. It's quality and there's something for everyone <3
Is there a "quick" way to level up Social Points?
Like a certain fp?

Do Ops, you get social points now for enemies killed in Ops.
It's that time again

Agree for right, disagree for left
Left for Warrior, Right for Sorc.
I'm a Sith assassin
Just got an mail from Aygo saying he was going to up troop morale by bringing in the band Black Sabacc :v:
Alright, I think I'm done with Kotfe for the time being
I've destroyed all the six [sp]Star Fortresses[/sp] on heroic mode (I loved the Exarcs by the way and I wouldn't mind farm for their armors), I've recruited all the specialists available (save for [sp]Dr. Lokin[/sp], whose quest is tided to an in-game event, I do hate that shit) and level up my advisors just the way I want them (6)
I'll renew my subscription only when the next and final chapters will be released
Tactical flashpoints are kind of a mess right now. All the older ones weren't made for a group of any four roles and Bioware have done a really bad job balancing them.
So I dld the game cause I love biowares stories in dragon age so
I was just wondering if you guys have any particular story worth trying out?
Also does a sith marauder class get acess to armor that has the "same appearance" as sith warrior as in the same heavy bulky looking armor?
Is their a place on my HUD I can see the stacks of rage I have?
Lastly I just want to mention I feel that jassea feels like an "unbelievable" character in the sense that you kill her parents and stuff and that makes her want to be your student, have a complete 180 personality shift and jump your bones
It seems like the most implasuible of all the romances and poorly written in biowares standards
I wanted to buy Thexan's armor and use a cybernetic arm with it to get a look like Arcann's but now I realize that the arms in the cybernetic sets are part of the chest piece not the arm piece so it's impossible. Thanks Bioware.

in order of all those questions
1. Warrior story is one of the best, and people always praise Agent for being good. Most of the Republic stories are garbage, Smuggler is decent and worth it for the sass.
2. With wardrobes now you can look like you're wearing whatever you want and there are no restrictions (other than class, there are a few items that are specific to certain classes but not many). But no, you technically can't "wear" heavy armor. Which is irrelevant because basically everything is Adaptive now.
3. Rage is right under your health.
4. you've yet to see "poorly written in biowares standards", don't you worry. try playing a smuggler and talking to corso
Sith Warrior was super boring and predictable IMO. Inquisitor was a better Sith story.
did you play dark side warrior because light side warrior is incredible

corso is such an awful hick white knight asshole. i'm your captain, not some frail lady who needs you to hold their hand, christ.
yeah but his mom raised him RIGHT y'hear
I'm seriously hoping for an option to kill Corso. [sp]We can already kill Xalek and Tanno so it could happen.[/sp]

[sp]I want to kill him with that piece of shit blaster of his I stole.[/sp]
I already have a DS warrior but with this new leveling system I'm going to run through with a LS one and see what all the fuss is about

It's even better if you've done DS previously, you're gunna notice some intresting changes

Do you mind telling me any or that you recall? With a spoiler tag for others of course.

[sp] As far as i remember, several people that you would otherwise kill will actually team up with you (later down the line) during fights instead against other key NPC's[/sp]
The main difference between a light-sided Sith warrior and a dark-sided one is that the former doesn't go around killing potential allies and destroying resources and has a strong honor before reason mentality
Yeah it's more of a do the best for the Empire as a whole thing.
That seems mostly true for all classes, light side benefits the faction, dark side is just being a selfish asshole most of the time. There are dark side choices that are good for your faction, but they seem to be rare
I must convince two friends of mine with whom I usually play co-op games to give The Old Republic a chance
I already picture myself getting mad over mic because they voted to kill a NPC I wanted to spare
