I play with a full thrustmaster setup. Tx base, gt wheel, t3pa pedals and th8a shifter on my xbox. It's solid, but my racing performance suffered when first switching because it was quite a different way to play, but that ironed out. It's stupid fun on a force feedback wheel.
Just out of interest, any wheels/pedals you guys swear by? Preferably a setup that won't move around when mounted
As had been mentioned the G920 is fairly solid, and it seems to go on offer every so often. I paid £150 for the wheel and shifter. If you can stretch the thrustmaster are meant to be better I think all of the main wheels will be as stable as eachother, which is as sturdy as your desk. I ended buying a stand because any time I did an emergency maneuver I'd send shit flying everywhere I use a GT Omega stand and I swear by it, it doesn't haven't a bar between your legs like a lot of them do
Just out of interest, any wheels/pedals you guys swear by? Preferably a setup that won't move around when mounted
I'm happy with my G920, thought I've read that some of the newer thrustmaster stuff is better. The G29 is the same wheel but for PS4 with way more buttons, it works on PC too.
Speaking of wheels. Likely buying a G29 this weekend for my Birthday, since my G25 died a few months back. Very excited to have a wheel again. Sometime we should hold some GTSport races is we have enough people here.
Curious about GT Sport? Even if you aren't, then too bad. Here's an honest review of GT Sport by BF that no one here asked for (but also to dispel suspicions, if any, that I'm a shill for GT Sport). Singleplayer While GT Sport does not have a traditional career mode, arguably popularised by the GT franchise in the first place, there is a significant amount of singleplayer content. There are 48 driving tests, equivalent to the licence tests of previous GT games. However, I feel that they are marginally easier in this game, compared to eg GT3 and GT4. But regardless, it does feel satisfying to hear the victory music for winning gold on challenges. There are also about 64 driver challenges, with everything from overtaking challenges, to classic races, to endurance races. The game also has a 'circuit experience' mode where you can do a time attack of each sector on every track in the game, as well as a timed lap, and go for gold. There is of course the arcade mode, too. However, the amount of singleplayer content is certainly not enough to satisfy anyone who is only ever going to play singleplayer. Multiplayer Arguably the point of the game. I haven't noticed any issues with lag or dropouts, but experience may vary. When you first start multiplayer, you'll be matched with other players who have a poor sportsmanship rating. As a result, those online races can be just as chaotic as the races in other games. However, if you do manage to build your sportsmanship rating, you'll eventually join matches where the racing is actually rather clean. The game does have qualifying before each online event, which contributes to making races clean (all of the dipshits will start at the back and not block faster players). The races are mostly fair too, due to balance of performance being applied within each class. A big problem I have with the game is the variety of online events. Essentially, there are only three unique events (track+class combos) that you can access in the 'daily challenges', and those three challenges only update about twice per week. So the online does actually get boring fast. There are also the country and manufacturer championships, however, those only run once per week in a 4 hour time slot. Which doesn't work for me, because I'm at work during that time slot. The actual driving It's not going to be as realistic as rFactor or games like that, but it's ahead of other GT games. All of the advanced techniques that you would use in other games to steer the car will also apply in this, so you really need to know how to use weight transfer to your advantage, for example. A complaint that I have is that there is not enough vibration feedback when the wheels lose traction, so it does make the game much harder to drive than Forza Motorsport games if you have traction control and ABS off. The game does let you use the motion sensors on the DS4 to steer which certainly helps with putting the power down and sticking to the racing line, though, and makes racing ever more satisfying (also because the cars feel like unresponsive boats with thumbstick steering). A nice feature of the game is the multi-function display, which lets you adjust traction control, brake balance, front-rear power distribution (on AWD cars) and fuel mapping (for endurance races), all on the fly. Car and track variety If you are interested in classic cars, then yeah, this isn't the game for you. Almost all of the cars are modern sports cars and race derivatives of them, plus concept cars. The game does have cars that other games omit, such as the Peugeot RCZ. However, even the variety of modern cars feels a bit shallow. For example, the game has an Alfa MiTo (not even a QV) from 2009, but not a modern Alfa Giulietta Veloce. The game also does not have a C 63, 488 GTB, or 370Z Nismo. The amount of racing cars does make Gr.3 and Gr.4 races very interesting, even among the actual, real-life race cars, but the fictional race cars do provide even-more variety (eg a Beetle Gr.3, F-TYPE Gr.3, Scirocco Gr.4 etc). While that may be unpopular with some people, it's important to not forget that previous GT games have had fictional race cars as well. The variety of concept cars is decent as well. Cars can be upgraded to a limited extent, so that you can have production cars competing in higher classes by upgrading their engine, as well as adjusting the balance of performance by restricting the engine output, or adding or removing weight. The car's components can be tuned too, eg the suspension, brakes and gearing. However, I feel that the production car class structure is poorly designed; it's based on absolute power, as opposed to power-to-weight ratios, so super lightweight cars tend to dominate whichever category they are in. Graphics Graphics were as expected on a standard PS4; 1080p@60fps, and not bad to look at, but not particularly spectacular. The graphics do look wonderful on a PS4 Pro with 4K+HDR@60fps on a 4K+HDR TV (if you have the money), and there is a noticeable difference in quality compared to other games like Dirt Rally. The cars are well-modelled, although I feel that the shaders are sometimes off. Audio Car sounds are much improved over previous GT games, but they still aren't anything special. You can hear the whine of the straight-cut gears in race cars, the banging of the gearbox on upshifts, and the exhaust chattering on lift-off, but the base engine sounds for some cars, eg the F-TYPE R and Corvette Gr.3 do feel disappointing. Another disappointing thing, which is common across many racing games mind you, is that you can't hear the exhaust 'snorting' on some cars when they upshift, eg as the Alfa 4C does in real-life. The audio quality does improve when you are in cockpit view, but sometimes a roof cam is better to play with. Other features This game has pit stops with an actual pit crew. That's all that needs to be said. Well actually I do have to say that the replay mode is beautiful as well. Conclusion Don't buy a PS4 just to buy this game, or you might feel disappointed. It's a decent racing game, but not a good Gran Turismo game. If you want a laid-back racing game, you won't find that here, so you're better off with NFS Payback. You should only consider this game if you have a PS4 and are contemplating either GT Sport or PCars 2. In that case, you might be better off with PCars 2 if you have a racing wheel, otherwise if you only have a DS4, you're better off with GT Sport.
Don't buy a PS4 just to buy this game, or you might feel disappointed.
I wonder how many people actually did, because it seems to be selling very well.

I played the limited GT Sport demo. I had been waiting years for the game and was so disappointed that I went out, bought an Xbox 1 Forza Edition, and bought all the Forza games for it. GT still has decade old glitches with AWD cars. I thought with the switch to new gen, they would have fixed them. They basically removed all my favorite cars, without adding anything i like. Forza 7 feels leaps and bounds ahead of GT Sport. Physics feel better, they don't have the AWD glitch, and they keep updating cars vs removing them.

I still honestly don't know if this is worth ~$14 USD (for people who already own spintires). I mean in original spintires there's plenty of modded cars/trucks, and I still dunno what exactly this adds that makes it worth it.

The maps have been reworked and the graphics have been improved.

the fucking apes on Forza 7 online I swear, I get called a shithead because they brake so stupidly early in the same car as I am and it catches me out and I tap their rear. like don't brake to 70 km/h in a fast corner like a fuckin nutter we're supposed to go through it with at least 125 km/h. [editline]27th October 2017[/editline] which is funny because 8/10 races have been super clean for me actually but the 2 times it's not, it really feels unfortunate
You can patch the game, you can't patch idiots [editline]27th October 2017[/editline] Speaking of patches, FM7 finally got the VIP bonus

first day at work was nice
i still like games that can modify the looks and the parts of the car like in forza 2 on the 360. i did not get into nfs:underground 1 & 2.
Had a chance to play with a T300RS for a while, holy shit was it nice, the biggest shocker was how silent it was
I had a g27 for about a week before it broke, total piece of shit even if the encoder wheel stays in one piece there's so much slop in the neutral position and the rest of the time its really notchy The 27/29 is quite weak as well, I don't like strong ffb but if its too weak the wheel can't keep up with high speed cars like open wheel
I had a g27 for about a week before it broke, total piece of shit even if the encoder wheel stays in one piece there's so much slop in the neutral position and the rest of the time its really notchy
What do you expect, it's literally the king of entry level wheels.
If you spend a bit more initially for a thrust master the only reason to ever upgrade is if you want a high end direct drive setup, Logitech is a false economy
got civic in forza horizon maxed out performance upgrades 404KW of power and 440 N-m of torque now THIS is UNDERSTEEEERRR
If you spend a bit more initially for a thrust master the only reason to ever upgrade is if you want a high end direct drive setup, Logitech is a false economy
Show me a thrustmaster wheel that for 100€ will give you a shifter, a clutch pedal and force feedback.
I was winning against lambos and mclarens in my souped up Volvo 850 and the game decided that it didnt want me to do that and crashed wtf
holy GOD I just spent two hours recreating this [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e3/Volvo_850_BTCC_replica_fr.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/IeBz7Lm.jpg[/t] It's a shame I can't get rid of the grey plastic bits or put decals on the windows but oh well and I only just realised the numbers on the bonnet are too big, fuck it [editline]1st November 2017[/editline] fuck forgot about automerge

I have 2 or 3 tuned 850Rs, hard as fuck to drive but super rewarding when you can use its HUGE ASS to hit the checkpoint flags and pull off cheeky corner cuts. edit: rate gaybow if you own FH3 and wanna squad up some time and do some races, also add me on XBL
Show me a thrustmaster wheel that for 100€ will give you a shifter, a clutch pedal and force feedback.
Here in Aus, if I want to get a thrustmaster set of pedals that actually has a clutch and a shifter but no wheel it's more than $400 AUD. That is without a wheel. Add a wheel and you're looking at close to 900 or more. Comparatively, I picked up the G920 for <400 and I have pedals, shifter and wheel and so far it's been awesome.
