Here's a pretty technical stage from WRC 7. Certainly more than there is to be found in DiRT Rally or DiRT 4.

How does it feel when compared to the most recent Dirt games driving wise?

The surface has a lot more detail, so you're bouncing around a lot more. Also feels like there's less lateral grip on gravel, though hard to compare since stages aren't going to be 1:1 to each other. You definitely notice surface changes, going from gravel to tarmac, or going on to snow. I'm not 100% satisfied with the force feedback, I still need to play about with it. Can feel a bit rattly at times. Not terrible, though. You definitely get the information you need.

Also, I was working the wheel a lot in that video to account for the bumps. The steering wheel animation is smoothed out, which is pretty annoying. Makes it look easier to drive than it actually is.
[sp]some of them look like silver[/sp]
The Codemasters Racing Humble Bundle is awful, especially if you already own Dirt Rally.
Just coupons for their newer games, and 5 years of outdated F1 games...
No Autosport or older Dirt titles either, but you get F1™ 2016 DLC - Career Booster Pack!
Codemasters are idiots, how can they release racing games in 2017 without vr mode when there engine supports it

Tried out the new Metalmoro AJR that Reiza added to AMS. Heck of a lot of fun. You can throw it all over the place, very little set up needs to be done to get it working.

15 lap race, fairly long, so if you just want to see the [sp]fortunate ending[/sp] then skip to 22:10.
Here's a bit of weirdness I encountered in GT Sport:

The fact that F1 2017 doesn't have VR support triggers me so badly. I want to play it but my sim rig doesn't have a monitor stand or room for one, as I mostly only play VR Sims like iracing and ac. With F1 officially supporting it more and more codies really needs to step it up...

I don't think Codemasters listens to community feedback at all, unless it's something like people shilling for them. They released a PSVR version of Dirt Rally, but yet they could not be bothered to implement something as simple as motion sensor steering with the DS4; something that virtually every other racing game on PS4 supports (including Project Cars) and is something which would have really helped with the VR immersion.
The community at the Codemasters forums is terrible too. If they had a gun they would literally shoot themselves in the foot, because they shoot down pretty much every single idea or feature that is proposed by other members. Eg the DS4 motion sensor steering. It would make zero difference to people who would not use it, but yet they attack that idea as if it's asking the devs to remake the entire game.

i just dont understand why they have a game in dirt rally that is universally lauded as having some of the best vr support of any game period, build that feature into their engine, hype it up and implement it in a great way to the point where even professional rally drivers are complementing them on getting it right, then they immediately bin the feature for their next two games.

It could be that the games come from separate teams that aren't closely integrated with engine tech.
Just a single simple anecdote, but take the Forza games for instance, sometimes the next Motorsport game will come out with some features missing that the previous Horizon had and vice versa. Even though they share the same core engine, some stuff just doesn't make it over. Obviously VR is a bigger absence, but I bet it's something along those lines.

I would have contemplated F1 2017 if it had VR support on PS4. But yeah, until Codemasters pull their head out of their ass, I'm not sending another dollar their way,

Forza is a bit different because they have two studios working on it; Turn 10 (Motorsport) and Playground Games (Horizon). As far as I'm aware, the same team responsible for the Dirt games is also responsible for the F1 games.

that would make sense, but dirt 4 didn't have it, which would presumably be the same team as rally. and even then there were 2 years between rally and f1 2017 so theres no reason they couldnt include vr support
I think I need to stop playing racing games online if I want to keep my sanity.

The answer to the VR question is simple, they didn't make it they hired another studio to do it.

Turn 10 slipped the new 911 RSR into the latest update, seemingly for free. It showed up in the level up rewards so naturally I grabbed it:

Now all that Turn 10 needs to do is update every other single GT car to the current roster haha
Imagine a 'Motorsport' game released in 2017 which still has the Z4, SLS AMG GT3, 12C GT3 etc as the featured GT cars from each manufacturer, as opposed to the M6 GT3, AMG GT GT3 and 650S GT3 haha

I don't think so, going from what I remember of how it sounds, I don't think anything short of Raceroom could emulate that :v:

No you could enable vr in dirt rally long before they added official support, it's supported by the engine they probably disabled it in subsequent games so they could sell it to you later if there was enough interest like they did for psvr
I don't agree that it's one of the best vr games, even now the cars sent fully modelled and there are little things that a lot of racing games skip that add to the experience like realistic mirrors in iracing compared to the fixed perspective in other games
I don't like F1 but I'd definitely by a simcade game like F1 2017 to have fun with the career mode if it had vr support
[editline]7th December 2017[/editline]
its like pcars 1 not having triple monitor support, vr is already an expected feature for racing games, the only simcade titles i can think of without it are from codemasters and maybe forza 7
