In Forza 7 you can put drag slicks on a NASCAR Stock Car and take it into S class...
It's performing much better than I expected :v:
one thing i like about ProStreet is its setting, driving was awful tho
What would you guys recommend is a good Value For Money Racing Wheel set which isn't too expensive but does a good job? I'm currently doing some window shopping for a new build, so I would love some suggestions - games I usually play are Dirt Rally, Project Cars and City Car Driving (mostly because it's fun driving a shitty Lada in a vaguely Russia-esque city :v: )
If you can find the g29 for cheap its a very solid first wheel. I bought it and have no regrets, and if i ever wanted to replace it with something more expensive later down the track it wasnt too big an investment cause i got it for like 33% off (which is like over $100 i saved from its retail price)
Full price i cant really recommend it over anything else cause i havent tried anything else but you should be able to find one for cheap
Dammit, according to this it had a solid price drop in November that I missed. :frown:
Oh well, I've set up an alert, but thanks for the recommendation.
Personally also looking at getting one with a clutch and a shifter too to keep my manual driving motor memory strong, too - still locking down possible car choices for my first car in Canada, but in all likelihood I might just pick up an automatic, but in time would get a manual for summer driving/project cars as they're cheaper and I did learn to drive and have driven on manuals.

While it only has paddle shifters I use a Thrustmaster TMX, was around ~$200 and has pretty decent build quality and force feedback.
Finally unlocked every trophy in Dirt Rally. I am literally one among a thousand Dirt Rally players on PS4. The hardest trophy had to be Spirit of the Rally (critically damage three components but go on to finish the event). The cars are tough as nails.
Well, you played Pro Street, which was a pretty mediocre entry to the series. All it really has is its gimmick of taking place in a world where street racing is sort of organized and official and an attempt to be vaguely realistic.
imo prostreet is really underrated. it's obviously flawed and unpolished in some ways, but i think the driving physics do a great job of attaining an accessible "semi-realistic" feel that's not full sim or even really simcade. the drag racing is pretty damn fun, the car selection is excellent, the graphics still hold up really well for a 2007 game and you could make some really neat stuff with the vinyl editor (even if other customization choices were fairly limited).
but i think the best thing the game has going for it is the art direction, and the way the setting, music choices, etc. all tie together to form a consistent theme and style, is the best the series has ever had in its lifetime.
Well this is pretty cool.

Underground 1 was before the whole free-roaming thing. Despite this, the entire city is actually one big interconnected map like in later games.
I finally finished all NFS 2015 prestige events on gold. This is one of the most unfair games I played in my life. Most of the gold requirements don't allow you to make mistakes and you have to be perfect.
Despite shitty laggy physics I have no problem driving perfectly: you can get used to it.
But the game is unfair, even if you're perfect there's always dumb shit happening: traffic cars blocking your perfect line, cops blocking your perfect line, opponents blocking your perfect line, opponents pushing you to death, opponents making a mistake which causes you to lose all momentum because then you crush into them, opponents not being close to each other in Team Drift events, opponents acting like total dickheads in Team Drift events, opponents not letting you to take the 1st position right from the start so you stop being bothered by them, cops ruining opponents and causing shit on the road together with traffic which all together blocks you, random players (or CPU bots) sometimes appearing at the same places and also blocking your perfect line, and many other combinations of this bullshit.
Below is the typical experience I had

It's luck based - which means it's broken from the beginning.
So the whole thing was more of a test to my patience and determination, it also reminds you that it's important to stop when things go bad and you have no success - come back next day and as usual your muscle memory should serve you well.
I don't remember games as for recent where I was swearing mad at video game, because most of other difficult video games seemed fair.
I think gold results should be lowered just alittle - maybe 5-20% depending on the event, to make them actually doable despite this luck-based bullshit, or just remove all traffic/cops.
Also fuck cops, I absolutely hate that you can't restart the event when cop chase is on - it's a hassle to lose them. I'd rather pay them a double for a restart. If they arrest you - you have to wait another loading screen which transfer you to garage.
And the worst thing - after all of this suffering (which I still kinda enjoyed), I'm supposed to feel good about myself and doing what seems to be almost impossible, but instead I see that people do this crazy shit:

fucking madmen
All that for a bronze trophy.
Well, Project Cars 2 online is as shit as I was expecting it to be. It actually really pisses me off that SMS didn’t learn from the first game. The server browser system really doesn’t work on a racing game on a console.
To start off, there are a million lobbies, right? But a significant, significant majority of them have only 1-3 players at the most. Only like one or two lobbies at any moment have at least 8 players. The playerbase is spread way too thin across too many lobbies, as opposed to eg if a matchmaking system was used like in virtually every other racing game on PS4, where you would always get put in a lobby with a dozen other players.
Second, there’s the customisation that is allowed by server hosts. Which is rubbish. Pretty much most servers will be just GT3 cars. The exact same thing happened in the first Project Cars. There’s the occasional GTE and GT4 server, but occasional is the key word. Virtually no other category is played online (and there are so many of them in PCars 2!) - although I did find a Group A server, but the host limited the car selection to just BMW M3s. What the fuck? Why?
Oh, and the matches you do find are often fucked in other ways. Eg joining a server, only to find that the host set the race length to 1 fucking hour. Or having to sit through 30 minutes of practice and 30 minutes of qualifying, before doing a mere 6 lap race. If that was part of an online competition, I’d love to do that. But this is just a random bloody online race.
So much missed potential. Sad that most games are like that these days.
[editline]8th February 2018[/editline]
I can’t even rely on AI players offline for solace. The AI implementation is extremely poor. The AI will be absolutely shit on one track, then absolutely insane on another track, without you actually changing the AI difficulty. When it’s raining or there’s ice on the track, the AI will continue to do lap times as if the track is perfectly dry. And there’s an extremely fine line in the AI aggressiveness setting between ‘everyone unnecessarily slows down to 10km/h on the very first corner’ and ‘ram everyone else as if it’s an actual death match’. Can’t even have a single fun race.

maxi6 @ jaepo guys, said to be relased this july in japan
god i wish could go to japan
I'm one of the few who actually liked the newer NFS's I suppose.
MW2012 was a fantastic game, but not a NFS game. I've had quite some fun with Payback. Hell, even Undercover was a fun time because of the sheer variety of cars you could fuck with (although this did have the problem where you could blast down the freeway in your max-upgraded Veyron and a cop Crown Vic overtakes you)
good to see that forza 7 still doesn't use my god damn headlights from time to time in night races
also good to see people are still slow as ever, i was rejoining the track after being taken out and i gave this motherfucker 5 seconds to go by and nothing, so i rejoin the track thinking it's safe and i get side swiped by him immediately. god dammit

Haha something similar happened to me in Project Cars 2 online recently. Was in qualifying but I went wide off-track, so I rejoined but immediately got off of the racing line and slowed down to allow people behind to safely pass. But the first person to come up behind me swerved to go right up my ass (repeat: I was not on the racing line) and braked hard to avoid hitting me. They ended up causing several other players to stack behind them too.
If they just stuck to the bloody racing line, it wouldn’t have happened.
ok so bamco's streaming the new content @ jaepo today, you need niconico acc to watch, but here are the highlights of mt6 aside from additional stories (now 100) and hp uprated to 840

I was just getting on the road again away from the racing line but somehow it was my fault I hit him. He was with half his car in front of me when he hit me so he spun out.
B class hoppers back in Forza 7? Let's make every track 5+ laps while S class gets 2-3 even though their cars are way faster because ???
I got back into Dirt rally recently and after getting spoiled by some of Dirt 4's sound improvements, frankly some of the cars sound a bit shit.
A bit of googling later and I found out there's a way to port Dirt 4's engine sounds for Dirt rally here, so I did just that. I also made a handy zip and some preview webms to go along with it, there's more info in the download's readme.
included in the download are the lancia 037, s4 and delta integrale, ibiza, opel manta and audi quattro improved engine sounds.

I don't know when this is gonna expire so if it does shoot me a pm or add me on steam and I'll update the links.
Fun fact they used the engine sound from the hillclimb quattro in Dirt 4's rally quattro.

What a fucking joke, haha.
As someone with a PS4 Pro, PSVR and GT Sport myself, the VR implementation in the game is absolutely depressing. Essentially, you’re limited to driving a few laps around each track against a single, ridiculously easy AI competitor. That’s it.
GT Sport actually has potential with the content it already has, but Polyphony has no idea what the fuck they are doing. Months in and you still can’t race multi-car (as in, more than just one-make) Vision Gran Turismo, multi-car production or Gr.B cars online. And we’ve only just been able to race Gr.1 cars online as of about two weeks ago.

behold, my first commercial work, I didn't make it completely but I made it nicer:

Thought I’d get back into Project Cars 2 again. Then I suddenly realised why I stopped in the first place. The fucking server browser system where players can host their own servers.
- There are about a hundred servers with just one or two players, but less than half of a dozen of them have more than two players. Wouldn’t it be better to have eg just two dozen lobbies, but each lobby is actually populated?
- Of the populated servers, half are already racing, so you can’t just join and race in them yourself. Yet they still appear in the server browser...
- Of the populated servers that you can join, many of them have idiotic settings, such as 30 minute qualifying or 20 lap sessions. Or in other words, you need to decide if you’re gonna spend a significant amount of time not actually racing anyone, and if you can be bothered to put in the effort for a long race, after coming home from a hard day at work.
- Almost every server is still just GT3 cars at the same old tracks such as Monza or the Red Bull Ring. Oh, and when there are servers with other classes, often the host is a moron and has it set to one-make. Eg I saw a touring car server, which was restricted to just Renault Meganes. And then I saw a Road D server, which was restricted to just the BMW 1 Series M Stanceworks Edition? Fucking really? Fucking why?
It really drives me up the bloody wall how SMS somehow missed how shit the server browser system was in the first Project Cars, and insisted on keeping it around. Almost every other racing game does it right by having a matchmaking system. But that would just make too much sense I suppose.

this is better than 1200 plays

Picked up Forza 7 for damn cheap as amazon has them on sale currently, so far enjoying the hell out of it. It still feels arcady but nowhere near as much as Horizon 3.
