They are gonna make a Project Cars mobile version https://drivemag.com/news/project-cars-game-coming-to-mobile
It is technically feasible, but it will be limited quite a bit I imagine
i heard Onrush is on open beta
Can't believe people are making 2d outrun style arcade racers in the year 2018, this game's pretty fun even if it's lacking in car variety

holy shit zubaz is in it

some changes with devil z and blackbird in upcoming mt6
this is great
It is, but I just really don’t like the kind of game it seems. Driving around a track, not to set the fastest lap time, but to just crash into other cars as much as you can. It’s just boring.
what's racing for if you don't even race
even carmageddon has that aspect, so i find it silly to have literally just road rage from burnout.
just a recipe to get yourself burnt out on it tbh. at least burnout has plenty of modes.
let's just call Onrush car combat bc it plays like one
it doesn't even do the combat that interestingly; it feels like they MOBA-fied the combat
Just had one of the most frustrating AI races in GT Sport. F1500s at Suzuka in professional league. I know the car, and I know the braking points in it for that track, but none of that’s matters. You’re expected to overtake 15 other F1500s within merely 10 laps, but overtakes are ridiculous because the AI drive like morons; you’re constantly running up their asses because they brake a whole mile before the corner, and they constantly modulate the throttle during corners like the bloody idiots they are.
why can’t more games have qualifying combined with actually competitive AI? I would get significantly more enjoyment out of this game if eg I could qualify 4th and then fight my way to 1st against challenging competitors, as opposed to starting dead last and being forced to fight dirty against 15 idiotic AI drivers.
SlipStream nailed that bonus track absurdity of the final championship

so I just bought Need for Speed Payback on a whim. How bad of a purchasing decision have I made? It seems to have most everything I've been missing from racing games lately from the Youtube videos and gameplay footage I've seen, but is it really worthwhile?
Payback's gotten a lot better since they fixed the world loading issues and added things like the catchup speed card option in the parts shops
main issue really is that, aside from the speedcross dlc (which is pretty fun) and multiplayer (which can only last so long), there isn't much to do once you beat the campaign
Well if you already paid for it, you may as well play it to see what’s what.
after NFS 2015 though I’m not touching another NFS game
2018
Jesus those were some late calls haha. At least it’s not like going off-track in Monaco in Dirt Rally which = game over.
Anyways for all of the shit I give Project Cars 2, it does have its moments. I recently did a LMP2 + LMP3 + GT3 multi-class event at Long Beach, in a 65 minute endurance event against AI while driving a 650S GT3. I qualified first in GT3 class, which was fabulous.
But on the very first lap of the race, an LMP car unexpectedly brake-tested me causing me to rear-end them; I received substantial aero and suspension damage, and fell back to last in the GT3 class (8th). I was pissed off, but rather than restart, I took inspiration from Danny boi at Monaco a few days ago, where he finished in 1st despite racing a majority of the race with engine power loss. So I pushed on. Long Beach is a slow, technical track where mechanical grip is king, so the aero damage only really affected my top speed on the main straight. The suspension damage led to the car wanting to veer right, but I held it together. Eventually the car developed an understeering problem, and the front tyres were being over-worked relative to the rears, but adjusting the brake bias rearwards in the in-car-management helped to control that too.
Ended up taking a substantially damaged 650S GT3 from 8th to 2nd place in GT3 class against level 80 difficulty AI, over the course of 46 laps. Not a bad result I reckon.
i wish more games had a photo editor like the crew 2 that allowed you to take stills from driving and also upscale the game for pictures

If anyone wants an invite into the crew 2 beta let me know, I can invite up to 3 friends, the beta runs out on the 4th so, sorry i'm a bit late but didn't realise, so as I don't have 3 real friends lol I thought i'd post here
i think i can invite you
tbh im not sure about crew 2, its got a big map but theres zero incentive to explore and it seems a bit grindy
NFS Payback gets another update June 19
Among other things, all cars can reach level 399 now (which means all are viable), 100 wrap slots instead of 50 for those people with 5000 cars, all Street League boss cars will be available as abandoned cars, and sirens as horns.
Oh, and the first 10 seconds of speedlist races will have collision disabled. So that you might be able to actually leave the start line without hitting four other cars.
I'm in love.

Can I have one?
Yeah sure, only have one left now so you can have it, add Softie32 on uplay and I'll send it you
Wait what the hell, I just checked uplay and it turns out I've already got it...?
Fair enough, well if anyone else wants one i still have one spare
wish i could get my M2 as clean in real life too

Some insight from real-life British GT driver Ben Green in how he tackles Snetterton. Interesting video, especially since he shows onboard footage from his car during a race for comparison.

Also, I got suckered into buying TT Isle of Man since the real event is on at the minute. It's a heck of a lot of fun learning the course. The bike handling feels surprisingly good on a controller. I've been spoilt with a FFB wheel for car racing and there's not a peripheral substitute for bikes yet, but you can really feel with the controller vibration when the bike starts to slip. Sounds are great too, which seems to be a rarity with bike games. Visually stunning, cool to see the real life riders represented and the bikes look excellent. The Isle of Man course is ludicrously detailed - there's bits modelled that you'd never see when you're on the bike, like a church that I could only see when the camera switched because I fell off. I haven't look at replays yet, but I imagine it works well in that.
There also seems to be a decent amount of content. You've got the two bike categories, Supersport and Superbike (I'm not touching those yet!) which both have about 10 or so riders and their bikes. I haven't tried the sidecars yet, but they look like they'd be a fun option, especially playing with someone else. Also quite a few fictitious race courses that add some variety on shorter tracks. I've tried the two Northern Ireland circuits, and you can clearly see the influence from the Ulster Grand Prix and the Northwest 200. I've still got Ride 2 installed for the more accurate representations, but cool to have tracks that have their own traits to offer you a mental break from trying to do the whole TT course.
The Crew's photo mode was one of the game's hidden surprises. I'm a huge sucker for a good photo mode, so I absolutely loved taking screenshots with it. I actually liked The Crew a lot in general. I feel like the general opinion was unfairly harsh on it, especially the map itself. People give it so much shit for being a cartoon scaled version of the US but like yeah, how else could they do it? What they nailed, and what I loved so much about the game, is that different regions feels totally different. It even got little details like how much of the night sky you could see depending on where you are, or the way that traffic lights and road signs vary per region. The little stuff.
I really enjoyed the game even though I never finished it. It was a super chill game to just drive around in and explore. I just wish the driving felt better, and I didn't like how expensive the cars were. I never really felt incentivized to get out of my starter car the entire time.
I keep forgetting they were even working on a second one. It's a game that I didn't think anybody wanted a sequel to and honestly I felt like I had my fill of it after the first game. Not really sure what they can do or where they can go with a sequel to really improve upon it aside from making the driver better and the graphics nicer.
All these screens are from the first game.

I'm really up for being pleasantly surprised but so far The Crew 2 doesn't look surprising. The whole vehicle switching thing looks way more boring than it sounds. Planes look easy to control and thus boring cause 'woi just going in a straight line' and boats are obviously only available on water. I'd rather they just focussed on improving and perfecting the cars than possibly spreading out too thin.
my whole issue with it is still mainly the physics.
and one other thing, if anyone played the first TDU, when driving around you usually weren't floored just because of the danger of crashing, but in the crew, you're just floored 99% of the time because it doesn't really matter anyway.
