So, this game already shows it's problems, 1. It needed another month of bugfixing, 2. I know it wasn't fully funded but the Voice Actors is amateur at best.
This old thread became alive.
I wouldn't mind somebody making a better one.
I agree that the direction is really off. I've been playing for a while and it seems every so often you encounter a large scale puzzle based on fixing a broken machine plant or something, but you can just pick up a key and leave it behind. I constantly feel like I'm missing some part of this game.
Also the raft section sucks ass tbh

Also, why do you have to quit to the menu to change options? And why can't you load autosaves from the pause menu? Why were those removed?
Well we just ran out of time before we implemented that.
But it will be added in the future.
Xanadu bought this for me a couple days ago, time to actually sit down and play it assuming it's playable now :v:
No more floating doors of destiny.

Yeah, that was the first thing I saw when I tried playing yesterday.
Gave me quite a giggle.
What caused that, anyway? Something going awry with the level transition?

Yep.
Congrats on the release, guys! It's great fun, I was happy to make the purchase. There's this sense of scale to the levels that is really inspiring.
There are a few issues here and there though - it seems that occasionally the character voice will get stomped out - I was waiting for something to happen at the end of the ironworks level because he had been muted for about an hour.
Also, what version of source are you running on? I'm asking mostly for SFM compatibility reasons.
Portal2.
I'm still not sure why this they had to pretty much cripple the serviceable jump+crouch for that weird pull up system that just causes more problems.
I just completed part 1, very cool game, very enjoyable. The voice acting was pretty good for the most part. Alex Hartman's monologues sounded kind of overdone, but Mark's voice was entertaining (and fitting). I know he's supposed to be Finnish but I kept hearing a Swedish accent.
What really got me though was the level design and the small details. I remember seeing somewhere that research was done to make things seem as realistic as possible layout wise, and it definitely shows. I was absolutely blown away by how detailed and functional everything looks, it must have taken ages. you can follow pipes and electrical conduit to their destinations, you can stop and think about how something works in real life to complete a puzzle.
The atmosphere was crazy good too. There were certain areas that really made me think of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., specifically Agroprom underground. I half expected to see a hallucination of a Bloodsucker running down a hall at me after reading [sp]the note about the green mushrooms causing hallucinations[/sp]
Never thought I'd miss crouch jumping so much though...
Im looking forward to the rest of the series.
Also have you given any thought towards VR support in the future? I feel that it could really add to the vastness of some of the locations in the game.
I just finished it, it was actually a great game, always nice to see what the Source engine can do. Can't wait for the next part.
[sp]So what the hell is a Morko?[/sp]
[sp]Linear SCP-087?[/sp] I was not prepared for that.
[sp]The grand secret easter egg[/sp]
bought this game, and it crashes when i press play in the main menu. ayy what the fuck?
Can i have more in detail what happened?
Have you played it before and tried to continue from the savegame?
Okay, it seems to be a driver issue:

Yeah, I thought my drivers were fresh enough, guess not.
Anyway, what do I do when you have a circuit breaker that can electrify the water below, and empty places for 4 fuses? I found all 4 fuses, but I inserted one in that broken switch in another room (it did nothing still). Should I go find more or something?
One fuse can be found from storage.
And exit keys can be found from another storage.
Huh. Well I just took the gate keys from [sp]dynamite storage[/sp], and exited the area. Turns out I didn't need the c5 room fuse at all? Also what was that broken switch with fuse sockets for?

Kinda feels like this game has trouble communicating which puzzles are optional and which ones are important. There's a lot of big rooms with switches and complicated systems that you can spend a while on before realizing you can just walk right past it. And some of them aren't very clear when you actually do the right thing.
Just seems like a slight problem with direction. I love the puzzles and the mechanics, I just wish this stuff was communicated a bit better.
There are, it's just randomized
That's the beauty of it, there aren't any walkthroughs for life either.
Youtube is full of walkthroughs.
[sp]The electric room with the huge switch? Yeah, i have seen that some people are a bit confused what need to do there. [/sp]
Is the mini-train section, the metro, and the runoff discharge system cut content or in the next part?
Is the mini-train section, the metro, and the runoff discharge system cut content or in the next part?
I do believe that mini-train section will be in the next chapter, because at the end of chapter 1 we were getting to the metro station.
Yes, they're in the part 2.
There is quite a gold mine of unfinished models and materials for the next part in the games files.
