I don't know if I should be excited or extremely suspicious.
It's real, even confirmed by: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1694431413958948&id=100001763162156
I know it's real. I'm just not trying to get my hopes up that Sergiy won't cancel it again.
HNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG
2021? That's a hell of an estimation from now.
My bad 3 years seems to be long enough, so everything is possible. I can assume that they would start working from scratch. It has been long enough since the last time they announced/canceled stalker 2, and the story got leaked already. Looks like they'll redo almost everything now.
Oh god it's happening
"Blowout soon, fellow Stalkers!"
What the fuuuuuuuck I'm pretty sure I jumped realities today. But unfortunately, other factors are still the same...
On one hand, I'm hyped as fuck. On another, I'm sure this is another ploy by Sergiy to get more money to buy super cars with. Never forget that Sergiy was supposedly a huge asshole of a CEO in the STALKER days, and was known to frivolously spend the profits from STALKER on a Ferrari and other shit.
Now my prediction of a new fallout where the main character is tasked with restarting Chernobyl to mine bitcoins is becoming reality.

I can only assume this joy I feel right now is the same as if hl3 was announced.
Are we back??
Being able to mod the game is something that expanded on the game's legacy and had carried it over into being a cult classic that has retained relevancy even to this day. I seriously hope they take a look at providing modding tools this time around, even if the game is going to be held together with duct-tape, vodka, and a killer lighting engine
we back, babe
yo wtf
fingers crossed this isnt going to be garbage

Absolutely amazing. Holy fucking shit.
I can't quite believe this is happening
Dont expect too much. they didnt work on it for last year, rumors say that they really just got to plaining, not even making it. We will not see any trailers or screens soon, most of we gonna get for in the next months(probably end of this year) will be previous projects mockups and concept arts. There where actual rumors after last interview with Sergiej Grigorowicz, that they will be forced to announce anything, just to get rid off burden they gather for years and because of internal problems related to team and publisher/investors that poke them in the side for long time to milk that golden cow that they left behind. Team didnt do anything solid for past years, because everyone want something different and they really afraid of fans reception, but because of Metro fame and those smaller games that are advertised by "authors of Stalker!"(read: fear the wolfs) people who hold the money and devs balls(publishers and investors) want actual product that they can sell... I said many times to everyone that Stalker was not made because of those problems and now we see that money wins, but it will not be what we all expect: Team want its they own way, publishers want trendy way(metro or even battleroyal...), fans want classic way. And because of that we can expect some really weird and bad decisions during development. Stalker is not really big, its famous but not big, dev team know that in Russia/East Stalker is holly, and fans are reason why Stalker still really exist and is still known. There is no ONE person who is author of Stalker, there is no ONE big/famous company that make it. Stalker is really just coincident, mixed bag that end being what we know(just look at early ideas and amount of changes during development) and all that is hold together by fans for all those years. But today money hold everyone by the balls and everyone want to milk that golden cow, that was lying in the barn for all those years. So Stalker 2 will not be as first stalker, we have different times and new players have different needs. But because of that Fanbase and devs that realize that power those fans have, we can hope for small moderation of "trendy stuff" that will be in game.... So just lets hope that Russian fan base will slap devs in the back of the head like good mother when they will see that devs screw something
https://twitter.com/galyonkin/status/996503367492034560 Looks like they use different engine. Most likely UE4, which is unfortunately not good for modding compared to his old versions... But which modern engine is good for modding? Cryengine?
I'd hope they'd sue the Metro engine but that's unlikely. Cryengine is powerful and moddable but it's difficult to use (I guess like the x-ray engine lol)
X-Ray feels like hanging on a ductape and most nice features inside were made by people who are no longer in GSC. I guess. Unreal Engines were cool engines for modding, until UE4 happen. Or just nobody care about modding there. Or Epic should bring back Unreal Tournament 4 back from the fridge.
In celebration (and as a magical charm to help ward off Sergei's evil) we jam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_podzD4cSA
Are we now living in an alternate timeline in which STALKER 2 will actually exist?
please no x ray engine
Yeah no xray, lets get xray 2.0 instead with good tools Honestly coop shouldn't be the focus but I'd love it if you could hop online with a friend or two and do quests/get in firefights together. I really don't care about something specifically designed with coop in mind, i just want to play with my buddy who also enjoys the same type of games. Assuming the game doesn't turn out to be ass on a stick of course
An updated version of Xray would be in my eyes a contestant to a spiritual succesor to the STALKER series, if they won't change the overall feel of the game. What would break it for me is them using anything other than Xray or Metro's engine, although I don't see them using Metro's engine for large landscapes (if this is what they're going for in S2 as well). We'll see
