Big shoutout to @Theman! , he's been a huge help with both modelling and texturing, and soon possibly animation as well. With his help, we've managed to decompile a model, edit it, and then re-import it back into Stalker with it's animations still working. Why is this a big deal? Well, the most practical use of this would be to either extend the amount of weapon variation or to extend the amount of weapon modification. What if, instead of just ironsights, you could also change stocks? What if, instead of just silencers, you could also add extended barrels? There is quite a bit that could be done with this. That's one of the hardest modding leaps with STALKER, getting content into the engine is a bloody pain. Good job, @Theman! and @wepl !

Read the whole post. Coo that you work with UE daily, I dont. You get used to its interface and features, I dont, You want me to point out every button and option that I personally dont like? Seriously? If I would do that you would spend hours explaining me that "its more eficiente, its the same as other programs, you can change that". I dont care. I tried using it It dont fit me that good. As for mentioned problems in AI and scripts, again, read whole post, Its opinion of my friends who work daily with it just like you. Im not a programmer, I dont care about details, even if I have to make lots of smaller scripts and editing in Unity scripts(C#), But If 30-40 years old guys with 10-15years experience that I know for many years tell me that they personally dont like somethings in specific program and it could be better: I believe them. Its the same situation with any other program, you have your personal preferences and anyone who say something bad about it: you get mad.... its just a tool, get real, not everyone like what you like. I love GIMP even if I was forced to use PS and Corel in all my years in school and courses. But when I see that someone say that they dont like GIMP I dont pick one frase from post and try to protect it like white knight. As a user of program I actually know best what is bad in it, and I dont try to deny it. I work with Unity, and I can write a book about what is bad about it. Its with any product. I can just like you I can list lots of "" verstaile and flexible engines/programs"" but even with those big advantages I still can pick small things that I hate in them, not pretend that they dont exist. Overall just like @wepl I'm just worried about modding in UE4, I dont have nothing against engine it self and games made on it, but UE4 can be pain in the ass when you want to mood game. Its not as bad as Unity, but again "could be better"

I've tried it do it a few times but gave up when having to deal with the Actor Editor Massive props for sticking with it. I'm super excited to see what you guys accomplish.
Ive been coming to the STALKER threads since 2009 but Ive never been in one either. Then again I dont post often enough and the only thing Ive contributed was helping NinjaNub with his HD models for CoC. So i feel your pain.

I've made modifications of GSCs meshes in Milkshape and Actor Editor (correcting UV errors, mixing and matching meshes, correcting smoothing errors, unclipping some animations), and the process seems pretty straight forward. Honestly, Actor Editor I find simple to use. The time consuming part is on the 3D modelling program (just removing keyframes that cause animation glitches can take me several hours). I've been tempted to make some new weapons and stuff, but I back down every time because I have a compulsion to keep the visuals consistent, and any new model I add is just not going to match the original models/textures.
Do you still have any of those?
I finally finished SoC on my fourth attempt. Every other time I stopped at the part where you have to escort the scientist. It was really good except for the constant shaking at the end, that was just annoying. To keep the momentum going I'm going into Clear Sky straight away. Is there a good patch that doesn't fuck with the gameplay? For SoC I used ZRP with the vanilla preset, which seemed to only have a couple of fixes. I'd rather play Clear Sky without any gameplay changes but also without game breaking bugs or constant crashing.

They are in my SOC gamedata folder. Just been going over the weapons again, because I found a weapon HUD mod by one of the people that worked on Lost Alpha before they switched to the COP animation system. The author noted that the new positions made clipping issues in some models evident, so I'm going over those to fix them (like the grenade clipping through the RG-6 on the side normally hidden by the camera). I think I got most of them done (I also made a couple of new animations for NATO weapons that had incomplete animation sets; many weapons were missing the animation files for aiming down the sights, and the G36 didn't even had a proper holstering animation). I just need to go over the files because I got my fixes separated in folders for database packaging, and I've not touched the game in months. My folders are a mess (got a folder with the basic UV/mesh fixes, another for the replacement mix-match models, and a third for unused/semi-used GSC meshes with corrected bone and user data info). I'll see if I can share a link later.
Anyone knows if there's some method to play a sound from specific moment (skipping 30 sec of the sound for example) For CoC, i can't seem to find anything useful in lua_help. it's probably not possible, isn't it :/
Been messing with sounds lately, and from what I can tell, I've found no function that plays sound from a specific time point. My best advice would be to just grab whatever sounds you want, splice them, and then using those.
Unfortunately this won't work on my case, i'm making a new update for my Zone FM mod. i want to add the ability to save/load current radio tracks and play them at the same moment they've been saved on. There are over 42 tracks so this is not efficient. Guess i'll leave that out.

Hey I'm trying to play SoC with AMK SE cause I wanted something that doesn't change the gameplay too much and I'm having this issue where every couple of minutes the screen will go black and the game will pause for a few seconds, as if it was reapplying graphics settings changes, does anybody know how to fix that? It's not a driver crash and googling anything related to a "black screen" in stalker isn't helpful, and I don't remember having this problem when playing SoC last time.
Nice unpatched 1.4.12. This is why you never use random start or Outskirts in 1.4. At least we have stairs now.
