S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: Maybe someday mods releasing edition - Games

As terrible an experience the quests and story was in LA, among deader than dead A-life, I really enjoyed Rostok Factory, Outskirts, and the new (old?) Dark Valley. It's pretty wishful thinking, but I agree and hope that eventually we'll see them in CoC. Maybe some slav with enough time and vodka will do the conversion one day, who knows :v:

Wasn't there talk of overhauling/expanding CoC's Dark Valley and other maps? I remember screenshots including a minimap comparison of old/new levels and full-bright shots from the level editor.

Installing LA DC as we speak, download speeds were atrocious.

Sooooo... Anyone played the new Lost Alpha? I'll be waiting a bit till they iron out the bugs a bit more, looks like there's a few small issues here and there.

Are you supposed to not hear footsteps in Lost Alpha?

Jesus Reading about Lost Alpha gives me PTHD Post traumatic hype disorder. I don't want to ever read something about a game being developed until it's released. Man, all those videos showing features, the pretty r2 render pics, that beta feeling....all for some quasi homoerotic illuminati shit? No sir no, ain't commiting the same mistake twice.

What was actually wrong about Lost Alpha? I played it once, and for some reason, couldn't go to Garbage because of landslides or something, it would just keep kicking me back and saying "road closed due to landslides, sorry for the inconvenience". It never went away no matter how much I slept in a nearby bus, so that was the end of my playthrough.

1. Download, unpack and install Lost Alpha 1.3000 - from 6 different compressed files - this will take a while. 2. Download patch 1.3003 and install. 3. Download DC patch and install. 4. Put dbb and dbc files somewhere else. 5. Download 1.4001 patch and install. 6. Put back dbb and dbc files in the directory. 7. Don't forget to remove false user.ltx otherwise you will have graphical glitches. I might have even forgotten something - I mean I had DC for a long time as beta, and just kept updating it, but for new people and non-modders it will definitely be complicated... A standalone installer on the release, even if not completely up to date would have been much better.
