Why is it so hard for people to ignore that asshole?
Well, he does run one of the most public facing STALKER groups out there. Unfortunately. He also posts an awful lot to the GSC forums and /r/stalker.

This is so fucking melodramatic. One guy being an asshole shouldn't be enough to prompt someone to give up STALKER or its community. I'm sorry, but good videos/contributions or not, that guy is an idiot.

Tejas is a dick but abandoning an entire community because of it is just plain immature.
Oh boy, more community drama. Seems BobBQ/RobertQuinlan (most known for making the Know your Builds series and several STALKER SFM videos - that were all quite good) ragequit the STALKER community because of Tejas_Stalker's bullshit on the GSC forums and elsewhere. Kind of sad about this, honestly.
who are both of these ppl and why should i care?
A gun that hurts to fire, but leeches enemy health. [vid]http://puu.sh/wgi2T/236a452682.webm[/vid]
This would be cool as some sort of artifact weapon, not sure about an in-universe excuse to tell why shooting someone would restore your health without talking bullshittery
This would be cool as some sort of artifact weapon, not sure about an in-universe excuse to tell why shooting someone would restore your health without talking bullshittery
In ShoC I remember a unique weapon with a description that mentioned an internal component being machined from an artifact to reduce recoil or increase stopping power or something like that. Something similar could easily justify such a weapon's presence in-game.
This would be cool as some sort of artifact weapon, not sure about an in-universe excuse to tell why shooting someone would restore your health without talking bullshittery
Yeah, I've always felt the "anomalized items" thing was underused in vanilla. Just a couple really boring weapons and some suits where the effect doesn't even work due to engine bugs. So I spent some time at work thinking of new mechanics I could implement instead of doing my job. Just say "somebody dropped it in a fruit punch once" and you can hand-wave away as much lore as you want. :^
So i played CoP for the past 2 weeks or so as my first time and I gotta say I am a bit disappointing. I loved the gameplay mechanisms, and the gun play, but...everything else fell so short. The world felt linear instead of open world, very little to explore and 99% empty space and the atmosphere was...so subpar to that of SoC. I expected more :/
who are both of these ppl and why should i care?
You shouldn't really care that much. RobertQuinlan, as I said in the post, made a bunch of pretty good videos analyzing old developer builds and other cut content, as well as some STALKER SFM videos - What Loners Think of Duty, etc. Tejas_Stalker is a poster on the GSC official forums and the guy who runs the 'official' STALKER facebook page, which is the most public facing thing the community has outside of moddb.
Dunno, just started looking through my old screenshots. [IMG_thumb]http://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/315/314191/Spine.jpg[/IMG_thumb][IMG_thumb]http://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/315/314191/garbage.jpg[/IMG_thumb]

an open world Metro game would probably be the closest we come to a ~spiritual successor~ to Stalker
I'm hyped.
I'm cautiously optimistic.
an open world Metro game would probably be the closest we come to a ~spiritual successor~ to Stalker
It says levels are 'non-linear'. The wording makes me think it won't be fully openworld.
Man, I hope it isn't Win10 exclusive. Loving that FC2 style map.
Our protagonists watch is looking pretty interesting right now, looks like a compass, the stealth meter, and the regular watch all in one, with a geiger counter or voltage gauge on it as well.
It says levels are 'non-linear'. The wording makes me think it won't be fully openworld.
mind you, neither was stalker. as long as they're big enough and non-linear enough I won't mind
Holy shit.
frankly even if they are linear I won't mind because the last two games were linear and still great fun
fuck me that metro looks unreal
OHO holy crap, I didn't see this coming!
That part after he takes his mask off and looks down at the village and the hind is there off to the side looks straight up like STALKER concept art
The exact shot I meant [t]http://www.dsogaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Metro-Exodus_1080_Announce-Screenshot_5_WATERMARK.jpg[/t]
Imagine going back in time ten years and showing a gamer that image claiming its a still from actual game footage.
Does the music during that trailer sound a lot like the 28 Days Later theme to anyone else?
