Hey man, don't kill the vibe. Some people do actually like Survarium.
Hey man, don't kill the vibe. Some people do actually like Survarium.
One of my biggest complaints about Survarium is that when you have shit connection, it just disconnects and reconnects you. I'd rather have to suffer through the lag instead of reconnecting.
I'd have to agree with him - it hasn't even come close to what was promised when they were offering founders packs and paid access to the beta etc. They preyed on the hopes and desires of the STALKER community to get funding and get the game rolling, and failed to deliver on any promises. I recall the game actually looking very beautiful at least, and then they decided to change the renderer and tweak the engine so that "players with Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics" could play. No, I'm serious - they had a whole developer diary about it. After that, even on a nice rig the game just never looked the same. They posted ONE SCREENSHOT of the supposed "pve map" with a subsequent paragraph of promises, and that was about it. That was damn near 2 years ago, maybe more. That was around the time I gave up on the game and quit visiting the forums. Not trying to shit on the game, but to be honest they kind of deserve it. I supported the cause, played the game, bought a founders pack etc because of what they told the community the game would be. It's all BS - they care more about selling in-game gold to kids playing on Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics than actually making a great game.

Holy crap, those weapon animations are wonderful. At least in my opinion. No GUNSLINGER but still pretty damn nice.

I skipped around and it took me so long to realize the gameplay had multiplayer. They were speaking Russian so they blended right in as re-voiced NPCs. A multiplayer stalker sounds really fun to play with buds.

Jesus, there's some Escape from Tarkov level weapon customization in there. All in all, it looks like they're making quite a bit of progress. Can't wait to hear more.

is this the same as the russian one but in english
is this the same as the russian one but in english
Yes. I wonder why, since the Russian one was subtitled
Yes. I wonder why, since the Russian one was subtitled
for blind people
Hey man, don't kill the vibe. Some people do actually like Survarium.
Survarium as of now is a neat proof of concept with either a shitton of grind or P2skipgrind. I would recommend trying a few rounds for people who haven't tried it yet, but it's not gonna be anything absolutely revolutionary. PvE and freeplay are delayed to hell and back, so you just gotta wait for the year to read as HELL and then BACK instead of 2017. [editline]22nd June 2017[/editline]
From the get-go this whole thing sounded shady and dishonest as fuck, and with each missed "deadline", it only reassures the fact that it's only a matter of time until the company closes, dissolves, or cancels all future development for this game, that, once again, nobody has asked for, and nobody is interested in playing.
Apparently their programmer of everything that makes sense (engine, AI) got called in for army service. Everything about this but the optimalisation of the low-end renderer is sub-optimal. That one runs on some russian vodka magic.
Anyone got some vanilla saves near the end of each game lying around? The more Tejas-tier the better.
so i started playing stalker again after four years
Bought Shadow of Chernobyl. Before I start playing, are there any mods I should install?
Bought Shadow of Chernobyl. Before I start playing, are there any mods I should install?
ZRP.
First game should always be vanilla.
First game should always be vanilla.
Do go on...
so which one of you is undercover Tejas?
Can we take a moment to appreciate the design of Flesh as a creature? It's a pig. It's also a giant bug. It was supposed to be able to talk based on dev docs. It's fucking terrified of getting shot despite being one of the few armored mutants that are common. It's disgusting and different, but you can still identify it with what it used to be.
But it can smell through it's eyes.
First game should always be vanilla.
How many accounts does Tejas have? More seriously, who walks into an ice cream parlour and insists the first bite should be vanilla? More more seriously, why? Who cares what some other person intended only because they were stuck in some boring day job coding a game as opposed to the person doing it for love of the game for no money? Play it vanilla is religion level stupid.

Even the Freedom guys found use of it as a nice sex toy.

We even have it in the OP for every thread. And i don't even know what you're trying to say in the third part. And if it makes you all feel better, i don't know who "Tejas" is. [editline]23rd June 2017[/editline]
How can you call it disgusting when it's so cute?
How many accounts does Tejas have? More seriously, who walks into an ice cream parlour and insists the first bite should be vanilla? More more seriously, why?
Play it vanilla is religion level stupid.
No, the thing is, the base game is it's own experience with how the [del]bugs[/del]zone works and base stats / prices / events play out. Now, if Tejas is the dude who tells everyone they need to spend a bajillion in-game hours to fully experience the game, then it's my solid opinion that dude is a nutcase and the game ain't that deep. If you mod the game right off the start, you're giving yourself a potentially bad experience for example starting off by murdering yourself on Misery or breaking the game with Complete and souring what could have otherwise been an alright experience. Kinda like if you started Skyrim with Alternate Start and questline changing mods.
For me, a lot of what makes modding enjoyable is seeing how things have been improved, and without having a baseline reading for that (playing vanilla) its hard for me to appreciate what mods do for the game. I would recommend playing vanilla for your first run, and if you like it (or if you don't) you can go nuts with mods after that.
First game should always be vanilla.
ZRP is a bug/crash fix mod. It offers no gameplay/mechanic changes.
ZRP is a bug/crash fix mod. It offers no gameplay/mechanic changes.
Technically not true. It changes the way NPC spawning works, it allows one to teleport between levels, it adds extra level changers after certain events, it overhauls parts of the UI, it modifies certain configs that were 'bugged' like death manager stuff which manages NPC corpse inventories, it modifies weapon trading to prevent an exploit, and several other things that can affect gameplay and mechanics, though really only things that were in a broken state in some way, and that's all just by default. ZRP is best described as a bugfix mod with a ton of quality of life fixes included.
