So I completed Stalker with the invincibility mod, now I don't want it because I am Zombified. I read that you can get a cure from Kruglov? If that is true I am fucked, Kruglov was killed in my attempt to rescue him. He just stood at a wall while bandits surrounded him and didn't shoot a single bullet So can I edit a file or something, remove this crap?
Pull the pacifier out of your mouth, put a vodka bottle in it's place, and play properly.
I meant the "Give me immortality" to the wish granter, I didn't know that it would make me zombified. Probably should be more clear in the future... :v: Not that it is relevant but I got the mod so bullets are more realistic on AI and player. I play on Veteran mode and get one shotted a lot [sp]SVD are my nightmare[/sp]
Think back to your first playthrough of SoC. Did you get the real endings on the first go? I did but I'm told that's unusual. What did FP get on their first playthrough?
My first time I said I wanted to be rich, that was a mistake
Think back to your first playthrough of SoC. Did you get the real endings on the first go? I did but I'm told that's unusual. What did FP get on their first playthrough?
Funnily enough I got to the true endings as well, not because I knew the wish granter was fake or what the room it was in looked like. But because I accidentally left all my anti radiation crap back in pripyat and thus I had to run through the NPP like a fucking madman looting every corpse for anti rads and vodka. So i simply ran past the room without noticing.

SoC doesn't give you choices in vanilla... Are you playing with a mod?
Got the true ending on my first SoC playthrough. [sp]But I kept a spare save file around somewhere on my computer, so I could both join the C-Con, and then kick Monolith ass and murder the C-Con[/sp]
I VANT TO BE RICH [editline]17th August 2017[/editline] So wait, which STALKER are you talking about? SoC doesn't give you choices in vanilla... Are you playing with a mod?
Shoulda mentioned, yeah, CoC
Think back to your first playthrough of SoC. Did you get the real endings on the first go? I did but I'm told that's unusual. What did FP get on their first playthrough?
The first ending I got was a fatal error every time I entered the Sarcophagus. It was a fine ending. I got the true ending in my first complete play through. I did all the missions and read things, so I ended up going to the right place. I couldn't find the wish granter the first time around.
So I've been playing call of misery and i've found myself enjoying it a surprising amount more than I thought i would. It's kind of made me realize why i could never get into call of chernobyl for more than a quick play session or two in the first place. I always assumed it was because CoC had no concrete story mode like the official games do, but I never realized that was only part of the problem. Misery having such an extended hobo phase made me realize my love for STALKER is equal parts the ambience and setting, pushing towards a (story) goal, and struggling to get there in the first place. SoC and CS have a pretty even amount of progression that takes you from a hobo phase, to a well off phase, to a final difficulty spike to challenge you at your most stocked up. CoC lacks this, and install any kind of weapon mod and any semblance of progression evaporates completely. So many extra guns but nothing to balance them against the existing weapon set literally just means that you get one weapon after another and there's no reward to actually finding something. And realistic damage models in mods actually make this worse. I don't agree with all the changes in misery, and i think some of it is kinda ridiculous, but it's got me invested in playing CoC, and STALKER again. All the little extra mechanics and loot items seem like fluff but they even help pad out exploration so you can still find something useful without it needing to be a new gun or ammo. /rant I think somebody should do a mod for CoC entirely focused on giving a sense of progression somehow, expanding existing systems or something. I don't think it has to be misery levels of fluff, but more items and mechanics that influence the player more, combined with changes to the level spawns to make certain areas really only doable when you have top tier shit, would go a long way towards making the freeplay of CoC not feel so aimless
Vanilla has a lot of soft and hard checks on player progression, though - I think it'd be hard to achieve the same thing in CoC without cutting down on player freedom, which is maybe not playing to CoC's strength as a big, open-worldy game. [editline]18th August 2017[/editline] Not saying you're wrong, mind you. I think (correct me if I'm wrong here) CoC was generally sold as a modders resource, and a full scale story mod for it would be amazing - but also an incredible amount of work in a time when there's not so much activity in the community.
Well i'm not saying somebody should just make a story mod (though that'd be great) but rather try to find a way to make progression that works in CoC's open ended gameplay. Though honestly i wouldn't mind a mod that just makes certain levels/areas have a base level of radiation that makes it really dangerous to go to until you get x or y level of rad protection, through certain suits - sort of like the brain scorcher check but not so black and white, and having different ways to bypass it (suits, taking a lot of drugs, artifacts, etc.) I think in general more soft checks would help. I think it's just more annoying to me that CoC is a great modder's resource yet so few people actually seem to be going anywhere with it outside of their own little minimods and addons. Call of Misery is like, the only real overhaul i can think of atm.
Though honestly i wouldn't mind a mod that just makes certain levels/areas have a base level of radiation
Tell me how bullshit you want each map to be and you've got yourself a deal Side note: Жест has this feature and it's absolutely horrible
I mean, i wouldn't want it to be too bullshit, depends on how rad resistance works exactly too (I never really was sure about that) Is it possible to have it so a level gives you a certain amount of rads and having a specific resistance will negate it? Like say have the garbage give you small enough rads but have the equivalent rad protection of a sunrise suit (or hell just a gas mask) cancel it out so you wouldn't have to worry about it? If it works that way it might be kinda interesting to have areas like red forest need higher tier rad protection like a guardian of freedom suit or equivalent (such as upgrading your current suit's protection/getting a gas mask or -rad artifacts) and northern levels like generators require something like a SEVA or eco suit. It could be something like a looming hazard, without the right equipment a player spending a while in those types of areas would get heavily poisoned without proper management - again, this is assuming you can negate intake of radiation with protection

Such as reducing stamina and/or carryweight, making bleeding out easier, maybe certain psi effects? There was a mod for SoC that did this a while back... Found it: http://www.amk-team.ru/forum/topic/6746-new-radiation-cardiography-mod/?do=findComment&comment=1071828
depends on how rad resistance works exactly too (I never really was sure about that)
Outfits provide flat(ish?) radiation intake reduction, which is kind of balls since it means even if you're normalizing for time you'll get variable results from different framerates if you try to drip it constantly. I'm not sure if that has any impact on vanilla radiation zones or if they tick at a constant rate. Edit: You brought this upon yourself: http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/addons/background-radiation Cordon and Bar are radiation free, Sunrise will handle things up to Army Warehouses or so, SEVA can take the heat until Zaton, and the rest you can figure out yourself. Of course I expect you can just put on some antirad artifacts and be completely fine but I'm too lazy to actually, like, balance anything properly. :^
I am indeed crazy, and i thank you sir. That sucks that your framerate can effect it though
That sucks that your framerate can effect it though
I mean that it could if you weren't careful about it. I just rewrote it in a different way so it wouldn't be an issue.

looks like a typical people soup fork
Just finished Clear Sky on Master. The name has to be some kind of sick joke cause the Sky aint fuckin clear, it's full of grenades, and the last level really took the fuck'n piss with it. Chasing Strelok around at NPP, jumped through a portal opting to avoid the cluster fuck of enemies that had just spawned right on top of me only to find out the teleport moved me all of 10 feet away to a lower level. Before I managed to take a single step 8 grenades exploded in my face. Everytime Monolith goons teleported in they're accompanied by Parkinsons simulator screenshake which means you either mag dump and hope for the best or you hide and wait out the shakes and then pop up to shoot. Option 1 gets you fucked by the AI cause they're not affected by screenshake. Option 2 has the AI default to, "havent seen the player for 0.04 seconds, better use a grenade" Thankfully, Stalker being as janky as ever I was able to climb above the map and escape all that bollocks. Managing to just sit and shoot Strelok in peace for 5 mins only to get fucked by an emission and get a pretty lackluster ending. I'm glad iv'e now visited Red Forest and Great Marshes ect in the game they're from with the attached stories rather than in mods. But god damn I have a new found love for CoP and SoC after that.
I swear, every stalker in CS has to have a portable artillery cannon or something. You can be on the other side of a hill, and stalkers can still hit you with grenades. Last level ended up bugged for me, so Strelok ended up in a treadmill anomally and couldn't escape his inevitable doom.

anyone know if doctorx's faction relations and questline addons for coc work with coc 1.5?
anyone know if doctorx's faction relations and questline addons for coc work with coc 1.5?
They do not. Wait until he updates them for 1.5. Supposedly questlines is getting a huge upgrade for 1.5
First time playing OGSE. There's some really neat stuff in this mod. [t]http://i.imgur.com/bqy6rrg.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/oL3hWVi.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/akgm8B3.jpg[/t]
[t]http://i.imgur.com/akgm8B3.jpg[/t]
Is OGSE worth trying? Never played it, what's it like?
