XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "D:\OGSE\Program Files (x86)\bin\xrCore_GSC.DLL" at 0023:007BCC85, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)
I gave up and uninstalled it after trying multiple times. 0.6.9.3 Standalone works fine, crashes on start-up as soon as I install O.G.S.E. 0.6.9.3 Final 2.0 Standalone Patch 2.10R and even the patch on top of that one.
OGSE is one of those mods where you need to pay attention while reading, they will tell you something important for your quest and that information won't be saved on your PDA.
Man that's bullocks, I guess i'll have to keep multiple sticky note tabs open just for this mod

Go into the OGSE folder and check _appdata_/logs for xray_[username].log. Stick it on pastebin or something so we can get a better idea of what's going on. Looking it up, this usually happens if you install over SoC (it's a standalone game!) or fail to install VC++ 2005 runtimes required.
Man that's bullocks, I guess i'll have to keep multiple sticky note tabs open just for this mod
OGSE is kind of like old adventure games in that it's beneficial to jot down brief notes when you talk to important characters (questgivers) or observe important events because certain details will come back to haunt you - things like location descriptions, item placement, safe codes, etc. Anyway, my car blew up en route to the Agroprom and everything I'd put in the trunk exploded everywhere in a kaleidoscopic rain of artifacts and equipment :v: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/EUOteIJ.jpg[/thumb]
OGSE is a doozy I found a creepy talking doll that whispers sweet advice into my ears from the comfort of my backpack, i've come across an artifact that literally turns me into a zombie with the sounds OF HELL BLARING IN MY EARS, i've already had my starter base wiped out from over-eager army dudes and their helicopter, mourned over the new missions i've now lost. Raided the army outpost and took their supplies and humvee which i've now grown attached to. I've solved a majority of my mutant problems by running over them and sending them flinging off into the stratosphere. Gotten mauled by cats who suspiciously sound like a man imitating cat noises over a microphone, decked myself out with a pretty decent arsenal and intrigued myself by admiring the beautiful asphalt reflections in the rain. Experienced digital PTSD by coming fresh out of an emission while a surge went on + dying of radiation posioning and drinking vodka (Flashing lights, the world changing colors, phantoms coming to jump at me from every direction as literal hell broke out, sound effect wise) Oh, and I pulled a sick front-flip in my jeep from a gravity anomaly before getting swiped out of my car by a giant venus fly trap. :downs:
In OGSE: I'm having a hard time finding these ammo boxes for Mole and so far, I only found 3. [sp]2 in the underground where there's high radiation on the hill and 1 in the tunnel below depot.[/sp]

I might actually return to OGSE, got into some shit situation and stopped playing for a while, but gonna continue at some point.
I think my only problem with OGSE, other than some of the quests being tough to solve, is that it's based in SoC. I like SoC, but it's jankiest of the 3 games, and even with a mod like OGSE you can still kind of feel it underneath all the new stuff.
Erm, Clear Sky?
Honestly Clear Sky isn't as janky as SoC. You're kind of conflating jank and outright bugginess. Clear Sky and CoP are rather similar in terms of 'jank', tbh.
I loved OGSE so much that I did all the quests They ve must been more than 40 hours easily and yet I still want some more The only annoying thing is the gunplay balance. Even if you get the SKAT armor you might be killed in three shot. If you do the artifact treasure quest straight, then the game then becomes 1000x times easier. I recommend you guys get the stalker 'Master' on your team before going to Dead City to do the final treasure quest.

I've re-installed bot hx32 and x64 2005 runtimes already, still didn't fix it and I don't have SoC installed on this machine. I know it's stand-alone so i'm not sure why it's happening.

I can' recall properly what I did but I think it had something to do with the installation.

Am I fucked for having Healer dead, since talking to him allegedly triggers the briefcase to spawn

I've checked your post history but you post in so many threads that I can't find it.
Erm, Clear Sky?
Patched up Clear Sky isn't really much jankier than CoP. I think what I hate the most about SoC is the UI. It's so clunky compared to the other games.

Am I fucked for having Healer dead, since talking to him allegedly triggers the briefcase to spawn
Wow I don't recall that quest. But apart from Sidorovich and a couple of others (From Wolf, for example) most of the quests in Cordon aren't that good.
Could you link me to it? I've checked your post history but you post in so many threads that I can't find it.
I'll try to find it.
3,575 Posts Ok going to describe my ogse experience: Start game. Blabla artifact blabla wounded rookies Survive by buying a knife and collecting junk to afford some miserable bandages. Go to fox and then go to petrushka (or petroska, you know, the guy who you dont cover waiting for him to eventually die and then loot his ass) Try infiltrating approach Speak with bandits boss. Get blasted in the face. Infiltrate again. This time I'll own you bitch. No talking just gunning. Unload entire Makarov in bandit boss' face. Find out 9x18mm are basically blanks. Get blasted in the face. Fuck infiltration. Reload and try group attack. Wiped out by grenade. Reload. Stick to a group guy waiting dor him to die so I can pick his ak. AK is broken or no ammo. In the following 15-20 attempts die either by: friendly fire or bleeding or grenade blast or bandits cheeki breekin me. Papali papali suka. Found nimble. Go back to base. Killed by invading military because god knows why. Have to reload carpark attack again Ahhhh, so this is how it felt playing stalker.
Hahahah I forgot about this EDIT: I think the game ran fine before patching and then after applying the patch it messed up the game launch. So if I remember...I think I dumped all the patch files onto another folder, and then copy pasted them on top of a fresh 1.0 install and then I was able to play it. Have you tried this?
OGSE is a doozy
My sweet summer child, just wait 'til you get to Radar.
Some kind of dynamically generated global radiation map or something
That is really interesting. How'd you do it?
That is really interesting. How'd you do it?
Perlin noise rendered with a metric fuckton of UI statics as pixels

I searched part of your error code and got a thread back about someone who fixed it by turning off a background-running video capture program or something like that [editline]26th August 2017[/editline] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/F3YaEI3.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/kArf5sU.jpg[/thumb]
Perlin noise rendered with a metric fuckton of UI statics as pixels
That's awesome. Can you re-randomise it every emission?
That's awesome. Can you re-randomise it every emission?
In fact that is the idea
In fact that is the idea
Whats the average FPS drop from all the UI elements?
I've been there like several times and still couldn't find it.
The boxes were quite tricky to found. I think some of them were behind other boxes. One was in some racks and the other one was on the far end of one of those tunnels. your best shot at finding them is using the flashlight and pressing F (not holding down) so the name pop ups and catches your attention while walking around there.
