my save was corrupted so time to start again. Not a whole lot of time lost but it still sucks.
[t]https://i.redd.it/03zdf523mtlz.jpg[/t] Remember this fridge you can open and close in X-18? [sp]Now I'm waiting for Alundaio/CoC team to have a Karlik spawn inside that fridge on the next patch[/sp] :v:
There's one in Army Warehouses too :v:
They need to add some fridge out into the world, and have them protect you from blowouts. I forget what mod it was, but there was a fridge added to the warehouses out near where the master stalkers would be, and it would protect you from blowouts. There's also the one in the freedom base, which I did once push a man into.
anyone got the fp stalker pictures saved? the op links are dead
i think someone rehosted them a few pages back [editline]15th September 2017[/editline] page 28 methinks
I found Bill. [t]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/862859572050262697/E25B7D6FB1FFE7C361ED622382439A4C6F4A4772/[/t]
Well I just finished first beta version of my mod, its still long way to remake all textures of stalker to higher resolution but i think I should finish most of work before end of this year(I hope...). Compared to any other textures mod, I actually aimed to keep similar style to default stalker look, no weird bumpmaps or out of place new elements like wood or bricks that look like it just left ikea... Textures are compatible with probably all CoP based mods, but all additional FX textures and grass are only for CoC and standard CoP(technically...). SoC version will be available later, because I need to modify textures.ltx file that will fit to new textures(new/swaped bumps, different details etc.). Mod is delivered in simple setup installer that will give you possibility to choose what you want to install and where. All additional informations you can find in mod site. Here are few small examples, but still I would recommend to check it in game it self, because all power is in details ;) Also those images are in mod gallery: http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-two-k/images
in most cases, especially when the focus is on detail, it often looks much nicer when you lower your fov to somewhere between 45 and 90 when taking screenshots in my experience.
I would rather prefer if people just download it and see it by them self. After all, this is not movie or professional screenshoot content :P
Getting people to download it is the problem ;)
That concrete texture you are using here is really bad. Find something else. [IMG_thumb]https://s26.postimg.org/at68a7vfr/com_10.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Kinda reminds me of stale Playdough
Getting people to download it is the problem ;)
"Just download it guys haha it totally isn't a virus or anything haha ;)"
That concrete texture you are using here is really bad. Find something else. [IMG_thumb]https://s26.postimg.org/at68a7vfr/com_10.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
I mean, we all know why it's bad, right... But why's it bad - asking for a friend.
It looks like stucco, not glorious Soviet brutalist concrete, and it's not a particularly good tile.
RoH is looking pretty good.
RoH is looking pretty good.
Yeah it is. This is a totally normal video by the way. Just showing off the new binoculars in RoH. Yup. Totally normal. Real talk: looks great, but that sprinting animation is the goofiest fucking thing I've ever seen.
That concrete texture you are using here is really bad. Find something else. [IMG_thumb]https://s26.postimg.org/at68a7vfr/com_10.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Problem is that in one place its look good, and in other not. Stalker use one texture in lots of places, sometimes even door textures as metal elements, or wall texture as floor/ceiling. I can spend week making 10 new textures especially for that place to check if it look better, but at the end it will look good here, but in rest of places it will look bad. So now I have choose: Change it because few people think its look bad in this particular place, or leave it and because its look better in other places... For now Im not gonna touch it because I have 300 more textures to remake, and its not so easy as just "replace" it. To make one texture in 4k I need almost 3 hours of croping, stitching, painting and making bumpmap, and Im doing it in my free time, if someone right now dont like it you can remove it by going to gamedata/textures/wall
It looks like stucco, not glorious Soviet brutalist concrete, and it's not a particularly good tile.
This is stucco texture, not concerete(to be more precise: wall_stucco_10)
"Just download it guys haha it totally isn't a virus or anything haha ;)"
virus? are you serious? Not without a reason I publish it only on moddb, that check mods for any problems. If I would like you infest anyone with virus I would not need exe file for that, I can send you fake dds texture that do that job :] Also this installer that I provided I used in 3 other mods, and for past half of year no one complain about problems. I preffer giving people simple way of installing mod, without playing with zip files and merging everything manually. Here you have fast way of choosing what you want. I think its its way better method. Thank you for your opinions, but for now I will not replace any textures, but I will keep in mind to find some new textures for it, for now I would prefer to focus on making new textures and fixing bugs that people would find(stitching problems, weird bumpmaps etc.)
RoH is looking pretty good.
I don't like how it just snaps on your face, it should at least be a smooth transition.

The game of "What files did this replace?" gets kind of annoying when it breaks something. (For example: your new sun caused a conflict with the CoC 1.5 build weather configs. I had to install the pack into it's own folder and sift through gamedata/config to figure out you modified some sections in suns.ltx and the weather presets.)
I don't like how it just snaps on your face, it should at least be a smooth transition.
Looks like a good transition to me. Good balance between immersion/aesthetic appeal and gameplay functionality.
what
Wicked phenomenon, yes? But, you know, it’s not any more "evil" than, say… fire. It all depends on your point of view. Try to get a better understanding of things before you make your judgement. Let's move out now, it's not safe here
I love the way he uses the word wicked. All what they want is simple and quick install. Installer have simple list where you can choose what to replace, if its not first time someone install mod, and he have basic idea of stalker files, I think anyone should be able to know where to find problems. And about Suns: I mentioned lots of time in moddb site that it is a beta version (Installer also say that few times), not to mention that Sun addon have very visible text: "Still work in progress" so this should give people idea that its beta/work in progress so its mean, you can expect that not everything is working 100% Also CoC 1.5 is in beta stage, and for now official version is still 1.4.22 but I tested it with 1.5 and I never encounter any problem with suns, and actually those mods where available in CoC addon section for almost half of the year, and no one complain that suns crash the game, even on 1.5 that where available for some time before I remove it(because now its part of this mod). I would be happy if you would tell me more what goes wrong, and if you are sure that you checked version for CoC not for CoP Also if someone would ask, all what was changed in sun configurations is: gradient_opacity and gradient_radius that just tell the game how big texture should be. gradient_texture that just tell the game what texture it should use. sun_radius and sun_texture that tell the game with texture use as sun and how big it should be.
Playing a bit, I noticed your asphalt texture has a seam in it. At least give people the option of downloading an archive version, please? I get that it's a beta and a WIP, just wanted to check it out in my running copy of CoC (which I just grab from their bitbucket + google drive bins) without having to reinstall 1.4.22... Yes, I was sure I checked CoC in the installer. It complained about a missing sun section when I installed it...I did notice TeamEPIC changed the structure of the suns.ltx and modified a few of the weather configs somewhat recently in the commits, so maybe it's just a recent change breaking something, I dunno. I'm at work atm, I'll reinstall and get a log when I get home.
I am all for texture packs, but please make the comparison images .png :( Anyway, I have to agree with the rest here. I download the pack only to see it's an installer and I haven't touched it since, even if it's a great texture pack. There's no real reason to keep someone from downloading an archive. I for example want to compare textures side by side to see whether your pack or another has better quality textures / which are more fitting. It's personal preference and an installer kind of diminishes this. Just my 2c.
