CoC is fun, but goddamn it gets boring fast. I'll screw around with the multipliers and see what happens though.
If you're playing 1.4.22, try this out:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/addons/lost-to-the-zone
Should spice it up a bit.
Ecologist FTW :class:
- They have gov protection so beside Military they can be in the zone legally
- Maybe they dont shoot often and dont have guns, but for that you have mercs :D
- They have tools and resources to make booze
- They can experiment with artifacts
- Artifacts + booze = SciFi booze that will change you to bloodsucker humping Flesh.
- Maybe their suits look lame, but they so protected that they can literally dance in the middle of fire anomaly.
- No one take them seriously, but everyone want their help and envy what they have in their bunkers.
But most important: Its only faction in the zone that have clean toilets and beds :D
I can ensure you that after few nights in wet, destroyed buildings on dirty beds you would kill for one night in proper bed and clean toilet :]
I don't like Duty myself, they're a bunch of nerds. I'm always a Loner, but when I do faction, Ecologist is obviously a good choice. They pay you the most for dubious artifacts, have silly suits, but most importantly, SCIENCE.
I remember early versions of complete where it was actually a good mod, because all it did was fix things and restore some stuff. It didn't take long for it to go full retard and strip the game of all difficulty though. The last time I tried to play complete (mai2nly to mock the fan boys) it was so devoid of anything STALKER.
It doesn't help that every popular group promotes the Complete mod. Like when STALKER was added to GoG they made the mistake of recommending the complete mod to new players.
RADIUM is blessed with two splendid animators. Ha_ru did this contribution to the mod

Why are all my Stalker games subtracting the task bar from my resolution? Running in fullscreen results in a blurry mess, while running in windowed mode results in a normal looking game, except the taskbar is visible.

maybe its your graphic card panel settings? look if it didnt set some weird profile for stalker there. I had similar problem with Lost Alpha where it set GPU speed to just 40% of power and game lag as hell... after fixing it LA still work like crap, but still...

Have you tried using Borderless Gaming? Anytime I have fullscreen related issues like that (or if borderless just isn't available) then that's the thing I try first.

I'll give these a shot, thank you.
It sort of looks like it's running at 1080i, with the way the menus almost vibrate in fullscreen.
anyone know of any mods to make the starting faction loadouts better in CoC?

Coming soon: CoC Complete.
[sp]by all that is anomalous, I hope not [/sp]

oh no i meant like giving factions the same starting weapons every time, not like an exoskeleton right out the gate

alternatively it may be yout monitor. unless you have a bunch of color calibrations you could try hitting the ol auto adjust button.

What resolution is your monitor set to, which cable you use for it, what gpu do you have, what monitor do you have?
Answering these will let us help.
I'm proud that I bumbled across an actual clever plan when I played OGSE
Dark escape has the level end blocked by a bus that's only big enough to fit through while on foot.
Try and try as I could, I couldn't fit my car through no matter how much ramming I did against the bus and the tunnel, till I experimented with placing down an artifact to spawn a whirlygig. I managed to ramp my car OVER the bus by deliberately getting my car caught in the whirlygig
..Now I have to go back to Dark-escape to continue Yantar's questline, fuck
Minor edit, but does anyone have a compilation of easter-eggs and secrets for OGSE? I don't mind spoilers.
I like the complete mod

You're more than welcome to like it, it's the folks that tout it like the second coming of mutant Jesus ain't shit by comparison that's the problem.

Uh, I think there's a problem here

Everyone always says this but I've been in Stalker community for years and almost never see anyone with this view. Same with Misery.
I see people recommending complete instead of vanilla over at the stalker reddit a lot, even saw someone call people who recommend first time plays be vanilla "hipsters" the other day.
my friend played with complete once and got legit stuck because his suit ate up all his antirad in the cnpp
exactly why i did vanilla

What mod has the hardest, over the top, keyboard smashing inducing CNPP end quest?
OGSE was quite fucked up to be honest. In between the outside assault with all the monolith gauss rifle snipers and the inside filled with dudes wearing exos and PKMs I had to take some breaks because for every onslaught of guys I killed, I would say "oh some pause at last" and then some monolith punk would pop up from nowhere and kill me in 1 pkm burst.
Thinking about it, the entire premise and setting of this series would be an absolute field day for the SCP Foundation :v:

There is/was an MTF unit called Roadside Picnickers(Rho-8).

Hah, that's an AF3 feature I think. NPCs torn apart during blowouts.
I usually turn it off because it's just plain silly but it's fun to turn it on and watch the poor stalkers explode :v:

That sounds pretty par for the course for a subreddit, though. The /vg/ thread has its dumb moments too, but I'd put them above the reddit guys at least.
So I decided to finally get around to playing Call of Pripyat. Before I start a new game though, I need to know, does it still have the same pants-on-head retarded difficulty settings where all it does is give bullets a miss chance which actually makes the game harder on lower difficulties?

No, it doesn't, because that was never the case in any of the games.

Oh man, this should be thrown into the OP.
The myths of how STALKER's difficulty works are kind of annoying :v:
Well, that's an interesting damage table.
When you do think about it though all guns sort of feel like sacks of bricks particularly in Shadow of Chernobyl. So playing on master difficulty maybe feels easier and faster because there's more feedback/effect on the player in the gunfights on Master.
This doesn't seem to address weapon accuracy though. That's equal across the board?
This doesn't seem to address weapon accuracy though. That's equal across the board?
Accuracy has no relation to difficulty. Hit probability appears to in the config files but actually doesn't due to what seems to be a mistake in the source.
