I feel bad because it might be false alarm but...
GSC twitter account was filled with Cossacs3 news before and after release.
Until now

Isnt that about multi? Recently there was a patch for Steam stalker version with some fixes for it, no one expected that... I dont thing its about any new project.
Also dont forget that their twitter account sometimes advertise mods... so who know, maybe its just creating buzz around it.

Here we see a slav nesting ground.
Is CoP: Redux still a viable mod?
Seems like Gunslinger is taking on NPC models now, too:

Looking good. I guess it's getting released right after Star Citizen at this rate.
I kinda wish it would stay more true to vanilla monolith. But on the bright side, no elephant's feet anywhere in sight!
Hope my health won't give up before the full release.
Gunslinger team should acquire the rights to STALKER and make a full game.
I recognize that vest and American tanker helmet from the first pic. It's from Battlefield 3 and that is the camo I made that they are using.
As cool as it is to see new models, i kind of wish they'd just focus on the weapons. I feel like some mods end up getting too big for their own good *cough ray of hope cough* and It feels more likely to fall by the wayside and die out.
I'd still like to see new NPC models, but i think it'd be better if they saved that until after the weapons were out.

What's the relation to Gunslinger? It doesn't seem to be mentioned on their AP thread.
Or am I just suffering from terminal joke-blindness?
I actually would rather have new, optimized models instead of another gun mod. I really dont see the point of making another 1000 guns in HD. There are already nice gun models with animations, that work great and look awesome.
What stalker really is missing IS Mutant and NPC models, and especially animations. There are of course some models available but they are not really made for stalker(not optimized for stalker that cant really lift all those polygons).
But most important are NPC animations.
Game would really look and work better if Stalkers would have more random animations, like: sitting on random objects(boxes, road barriers), smoking cigs, finding artefact's, gathering in small group and hunting mutants, random/different walking and running, more covering like in CS.
Because now Stalker have actually two states: sitting in front of fireplace(occasionally playing or eating that is not really nice looking, read: vodka bottle 50cm from face) or... walking... they just walk until there is fight, and even fight is a bit repetible.
There are so many talented animators and most of them doing just guns. I tried animations and modeling myself, but Im not good at it(+Stalker SDK dont like me) so I cant do it, but other can, and dont tell me that you would not want to see new nicer models of mutants and NPCs.
Just imagine for example furry pseudo-dog with proper claws and teeth that dont just magically jump like spring at you, but actually move those claws towards you...
A-life of mutants in Stalker is still one of best in game industry, but pimping it more with animations and new models would make it even better.

I tend to disagree. I don't know if you have actually followed what kind of mod gunslinger is trying to be, but it's not another 1000 weapons mod. Gunslinger is about detailed models, animations and game features.
They aren't adding new weapons, they are remaking the weapons completely from models, animations and sounds, to how they function and how everything around gunplay works. They are not adding many new weapons as far as i know. Gunslinger is trying to be as immersive as possible from first person view (which is at least in my opinion really important in fps game).
Of course they would need to do something about the npcs and mutants as well, but they could have left npc/mutant models to some other mods responsibility (not that its a bad thing to centralize everything, if they actually get more people to do it and not just spread the increased workload on current modeler(s)).
However reason why they remake npc's is probably because they want to remake the stalker as a whole and systematically cover every aspect of the game they can, so that sore thumbs wont be popping up in otherwise polished experience.
At this rate they'd almost be better off remaking the game in UE4 or something, as much as I adore xray
Moving forward, if people want to keep going with STALKER, they'll eventually need to start introducing new locations and storylines. Xray is pretty outdated and not the easiest engine to work with. Providing a mod resource in UE4 with updated/replaced assets and great base gameplay would really enable some next gen stalkan.

I read it on a VK thread somewhere. I'll ask Hamza if there's any connection between the 2 (mostly since I was also frowning upon a different name for just the NPC part of the mod). They usually add the GUNSLINGER logo on anything related.
I mean at this point the main people working behind Gunslinger (or at least the person doing the guns anyway) are just doing this for their portfolio right? I doubt the mod would release regardless.
They should just make a game of their own at that point
Eh, the UI images they have on that vk page look too clean to be in stalker. Looks like they are trying to make a browser-based flash game.
As cool as a lot of that stuff is I don't understand why they keep adding more and more shit instead of just finishing da gunz and releasing the rest later as mutators or separate mods.

Wasn't there a CryEngine STALKER clone that had a decent amount of progress? Anybody know what happened there?
What happened to that really good Arma 3 clone that was coming along?

Not related, can't find the post either.
This project, however, is related:

That hamlet yo.
Why not make it as realistic as the weaponry?
I wish someone made a STALKER mod for XCOM 2. Or maybe Stellaris.
I wish someone made a STALKER mod for XCOM 2. Or maybe Stellaris.
How do you picture STALKER working as a Stellaris mod? The idea of STALKER as a strategy game is interesting to me but I just can't think of Stellaris as a base.

I would honestly fucking adore a STALKER game in the style of XCOM or Fallout Tactics.
friend invited me to watch

The Zone overtakes Earth, but we achieve space flight anyway through strapping a bunch of Jellyfish to a Zaporozhets alongside one Battery. Now the factions have to start their own star nations, like Monolith are Fanatic Purifiers, Duty is Military Junta, Freedom is Honorbound Warriors, and Clear Sky are Erudite Explorers.
Something along those lines. Kind of like how the New Horizons mod replaces all of the preset species, you could do it with STALKER factions.
Wasn't there a CryEngine STALKER clone that had a decent amount of progress? Anybody know what happened there?
Its Noise of the Zone.
It didnt had "decent amount of progress", even if just recently after almost 10 months of playing dumb they started to actually clean a bit their situation and create team "Bit of Bite Entertainment", but still with no info about anything at all, like it was all fake and made just to hide something.
Becase we have no informations about project at all, no informations who actually work on it, what project contain or even one proper place where this mod can be fallowed.
If you create project like that AND you want proper support you start with explanations, we still actually have no idea what it is at all? port of CoP as they advertise? new game with story?
They tried to rase almost 60k on indiegogo with unregistered account, THEN after it was closed, they created ANOTHER campaign where they want to rise, just 59,750 dollars but it was also closed even quicker(I hope I dont need to remind everyone that its illegal, because they directly ask money for that project that use Stalker content/brand).
For past 9 months all we had related to this mod was 3 videos and few images, and most of it was basic Stalker asset ported to simple maps in CryEngine. And "recent" content that they have on facebook where nothing more than some static, scripted animations that you can make in few hours(one building from Janov Station... and some thunder...). All those videos dont really show any proper content of game, just small parts not related to each other(in one video we even have church from swamps in CS or small part of Cultural Centre in Pripyat from SoC. Dont get me wrong, but with such project you dont start working on 10000 things in the same time, especially when you advertise it as "A fan-made CryEngine port of STALKER: Call of Pripyat").
Yes, Im really not fan of this project but not because I dont like it(idea and look is nice), but because it just stink like scam.
People behind it are more focused on getting money rather than creating it, and all what they presented for now are typical bait: videos that at first look nice but then you start noticing that its not connected like proper project, its content is filled with Stalker assets but everything is simplified and scripted, focused on small things that dont need too much work.
If anyone really want create port like that, first what you need to do is clarify project and plan for it, so people can understand your idea and support you and fallow you.
And if you want to get money for it. dont ask for fricking 60000$ not only because its illegal, but because no one gonna spend money on something that dont even have list of people who work on it. They seriously want to tell us that no one want to put his name on such HUGE project?
If no, its mean that its a scam and everyone behind it want to be anonymous because when they get money(and we should pray that this will not happen) they can just run away.
