I died in Azazel Mode in CoC and woke up as an exo'd Monolith Commander about to assault and slaughter a Bandit camp. We routed the heretical dogs and erected a mighty Monolith on their grave-site.
Is that a mode where you play ironman but when you die you switch to a random zone inhabitant? Does it work well? If so i really need to try that, but it seems like it could get a bit screwy if you try to do quests...
Imaging dying and ending up as Sid.
If ya'll are interested in patches, feel free to swing on by the facepunch patch general. [editline]10th January 2018[/editline] I do agree having it made locally is an option, but paying over $8 for a single patch is pretty ridiculous, tbh. Especially with some of the options you've listed. And getting it "made," you might end up with a crappy die cut woven, or worse, printed patch.
I just said it can cost 15-20 bucks but its all depend on place and size. Now when I look a bit most of custom made are about 10 bucks and this is typical price for patch. Especially taking in to the account that its custom made. I have few of Polish and Spanish military patches and I paid for them 5-10 Euro. As for quality its actually other way around. You will get probably better quality stuff than from online shop. I dont know how its in your country but in mine most of sewing shops create professional and expensive stuff(dresses, business suits, local celeb dresses), because only doing such things they can actually keep the business running. No one would order from them anything if they would make crap things. Its hard to compete with chinese stuff that you can order online so quality is one of few things that keep them in business. I newer ordered custom patches but as I said my friend did few for his club and they where perfect, they even put those sticky pads behind them so you can iron them to clothes. Right now I live in Spain and sewing shops here really nice because Spain have lots of those holidays with those fancy colored dressing so they are used to make custom stuff for whole year. They dont mind making one or two small things like such patches.
Imaging dying and ending up as Sid.
Becomes a completely different game. It's now an inventory management simulator and you have to issue missions to NPC. You also need to reguarly eat whole chickens to keep your energy up.

Unless some Russian wizard already has done that.

If you die during a quest, the quest just fails, though. It's kind of great though because I got a mission, as my Monolith commander, to kill the only survivor of the Duty squad I used to be the commander of. It kind of crushed me to pull the trigger.
Nevermind!

While it's pretty great, I've found two major issues. 1. 90% of the time you appear to wake up as someone engaged in the same firefight you were just killed in. Not a deal-breaker but most of the time I'll end up just getting killed again since the AI often seems to fight without cover. 2. Dying during a psi storm or emission will send you through a long loop of deaths until you happen to land on someone that has actually taken cover. Should one install some A-life mod to improve this behavior? Is there a way to make time advance when death kicks in, to solve #2?
After seeing this I started craving some more stalkan so I downloaded Call of Chernobyl and goddamn I'm back again. Free roaming in the whole zone is just what I wanted. Is there any other noteworthy addons and such for the mod? The weapon official weapon overhaul is pretty cool I guess, but I'd like something that would make the mod harder á la LURK.
It still baffle me that SGM addon for CoCh is not developed, not to mention separate projects based on it (like CoM evolved into Last Day, Echo of Misery etc.), despite being most popular mod series for CoP.
i really should stop trying to fast travel in coc
The number of times I use fast travel and arrive in the middle of a squad or horde of mutants is beyond count. I often load into Monolith squads in areas that shouldn't have monolith.
How do I enable V-Sync for SoC without using some 3rd party applications? I've already ticked the 60Hz and V-Sync in the options: [t]https://i.imgur.com/o2fy9bV.jpg[/t] and forced V-Sync through Nvidia Control Panel. I did some searching and found that 1.0006 has an FPS limiter and Steam users would get it automatically, but apparently it doesn't work? When I tried to install the patch manually from GSC website, the installer couldn't find my installation of SoC. And every time I boot the game up, the XR_3DA.exe asks me for permission to make changes to my machine, how do I stop this?
As far as 3rd party applications go nvidia inspector is really where its at, its basically an expanded version of the nvidia control panel, basically an advanced driver tweaker. If your goal is to remove tearing then id suggest not using vsync (which can cause latency) but limiting the fps to ~58. In my experience any higher than this still sometimes pops over 60 and causes tearing. Ive done this exact setup before with pretty much all of the stalker games and its worked perfectly. if you really want vsync then you may want to check that "vertical sync tear control" is set to standard instead of adaptive. make sure to hit "apply changes" when you're done. [t]https://i.imgur.com/4B4p1dm.png[/t]
It seems my Vertical Sync Tear Control is set to Standard before checking with the Nvidia Inspector. Not sure what I am doing wrong, the game still isn't limited to 60Hz. [t]https://i.imgur.com/EUQdluv.png[/t] Not to mention I was able to run every STALKER game fine before without using any kind of extra tools or settings.
you might also want to try some other framerate reading softwares, like maybe the steam overlay or reshade or something, ive had issues with them being innacurate in the past.
Steam overlay and Nvidia Shadowplay show the same FPS. For SoC I tried the FPS limiter in NvidiaProfileInspector, limiting to 59.7FPS created even more tearings and micro stuttering than before, and 60.7 FPS makes the game go 30FPS. CoP is kinda fine now, I guess? Save for the hick-ups whenever an NPC spawns within range.
also remember that frame limiting and vsync at the same time cause bad things to happen like snapping to 30fps :v: might want to disable it or set it to adaptive [editline]16th January 2018[/editline] adaptive meaning dont vsync apply under 60fps
I set it to Adaptive 59.7 FPS and now the game has very terrible tearings :(
try flat 58 with frame limiter v2 (scroll down) make sure you've disabled the limit 60 and vsync settings in the games, they may be interfering [editline]16th January 2018[/editline] man youre making me remember what the struggle was like before i got a 144hz gsync monitor
I've set them both to Off and all 3 V-Sync related settings in Inspector to default (Use 3D App, Off and Standard). Choosing 58FPS v2 doesn't improve the tearings. This is where I'll have to accept my fate, isn't it?
I got Rivatuner to properly limit the framerate of Stalker, consider that? I started a new CoC game with randomized reputation on via a mod. I checked what it was like. Everyone hated duty except for Clear Sky. Clear sky started to hate duty after a squad of dutiers was killed. The Ecologist also hate loners and are friendly to bandits. What a strange place the zone is going to be.

Did you ever wonder how Stalker CoC would look like if you would resize and compress all textures to just 100MB? No? Me to, but I checked it anyway... For better effect played at lowest possible settings :class:
sexy

Now if only you could also reduce the models to 1000 polygon or less. I ordered some STALKER patches and they're slated to arrive at any time in the next 3 days. Is it time to create a STALKER cosplay?
if you had a replacer for everything you could probably run it through ordenador texture optimizer or something and that might do it
