Too bad it's a stitched together mess of C++ code with so many intertwined headers it is quite probably the most unusable piece of Ukrainian spaghetti code. It's a wonder anything even works let alone acts as a platform for a franchise of three cult classics.
The power of Slavic code I guess [t]http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/mgc.gif[/t]
I just remembered Dark Souls 1 had volumetric light. But only in 1 spot and that effect was never used again in the rest of the series. It was like, 2 or 3 beam effects in Artorias's arena.
Oh god what the fuck. Reloaded my save game because of a crash and this happened. I was streaming. Sorry for the awful quality. [vid]https://giant.gfycat.com/FrailMeanGemsbok.webm[/vid]
I love that reload animation so much, first time I saw it in CoC I was wasting ammo a couple times just so I could see it again

i always hated this part of soc
if it seems stupid and it works it aint stupid
Pretty sure in coding, there's a lot of stupid ways to make a thing work. And even if it works good, there's a way to make the base code an unintelligible and impossible to reverse engineer if the original mess was made during frantic alcohol-fueled hallucinogenic state.
i always hated this part of soc
I always wondered what would happen if you went through a level changer dead. Neat.

2000 rounds though.
Tweaked the folder that handles the average stalker's behavior, and messed with their FOV, line of sight, and a few other values and managed to make stealth much more feasible. so am i supposed to be able to free roam after clear sky ends?
I'm feeling resigned towards CoC now; I haven't been able to get anywhere near replicating the Clear Sky (Complete) look with r2 sun_lumscale and tonemap tweaks. Adjusting lumscale does what I want but makes everything unnaturally bright, especially vegetation and nighttime in general, even when compensating with brightness/gamma. It's pretty clear to me now that despite all it's problems, CS has by far the best lighting and overall highest graphical fidelity of all the games. I curse the moment I rediscovered my old Clear Sky install.
do the same stash locations refresh after you collect all the loot? is there any point to looting stashes that have shit i dont want, just to clear the stash?

Last night I found that Call of Chernobyl is a thing. Actual comprehensive info about what it is and does on the moddb page was notoriously hard to find. Is it worth getting?
Last night I found that Call of Chernobyl is a thing. Actual comprehensive info about what it is and does on the moddb page was notoriously hard to find. Is it worth getting?
How is that hard to find? Anyway, its a stand alone game built on a modified COP engine that incorporates the locations of all three games. It's a freeplay mod with various modes and no real story (there is a basic story mod that has you go through thr X Labs). It includes features like backpacks, cooking, fast travel, new achievements, the works.
Last night I found that Call of Chernobyl is a thing. Actual comprehensive info about what it is and does on the moddb page was notoriously hard to find. Is it worth getting?
tl;dr it's a stand alone Stalker game without story, that can either be used as is for freeplay in stalker world, or as a base for other mods like faction wars, mods that add quests and storylines etc.
;53130549']what is this mod
It's a CoC overhaul/addon I'm currently working on http://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/addons/coc-15-original-weapon-renewal-3 These are the weapons I'm using though, currently one of the highest quality ones out there at the moment in my opinion. Also: [img_thumb]https://i.imgur.com/97X4Nf7.jpg[/img_thumb] Figured out how to hook into the dynamic quest system, was a bit tricky to figure out but it's pretty handy when you get the hang of it. That means the current features are roughly: -Improved thirdperson -More dynamic quests (with varying complexity, not just all fetch quests) -Weapon overhaul, with lethality being more balanced between the early and end game weapons (less peashooters) -Subtle reshade effects to attempt to look similar to CS That's about all I got so far. Need to do some more digging within CoC's scripts and configs but feel free to leave some ideas and if I can figure it out I'll add it.
Last night I found that Call of Chernobyl is a thing. Actual comprehensive info about what it is and does on the moddb page was notoriously hard to find. Is it worth getting?
It's a standalone freeroam with all maps from all games and some popular mod features/options such as backpacks, sleep integrated per default. Aside from the extra maps it's very similar to the vanilla game(s) stripped of the story quests. It's serving pretty well as a mod base, the selection of add-ons are not (yet) as diverse as the official games but it's still good.
Does someone have an idea how to unpack R6 .db* files? I tried the universal unpacker, to no avail. I'd like to continue working on all my HUD ideas for R6 and beyond, but the lack of ANY files prohibit me from doing so.
So let's say I want to make a mod that'll have all the weapons shoot turned 90 degrees to the right, how would I go about doing that?
