[sp]Stalkers shoot boxes that are in their way so they don't get stuck. This stalker in particular thought he could do that with an RPG at close range.[/sp]

I had an ecologist shoot st one that was under a bridge... while he was on the bridge.
I had an ecologist shoot st one that was under a bridge... while he was on the bridge.
He has a PhD in Theoretical Box Shooting bub. I think he knows what he's doing.
Can't take criticism Alundaio?
What is said there is not criticism. If I didn't like criticism I wouldn't be defending Reddit or the other stalker communities over /sg/
I remember SGM places a merc with an RPG in the chimera village in Zaton. 9 times out of 10 he blows himself up by hitting a wall of the house he's in rather than killing the player.
was SGM the one with the merc death squad that would eventually come after you
was SGM the one with the merc death squad that would eventually come after you
alpha squad yeah

[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/i3Jgiou.jpg[/img_thumb] Ok CoC problem here... so I'm having this issue with a "Search and Rescue" mission involving a Loner inside the Train Hangar in Garbage. I cleared out the bandits but he just sits there. If I walk up to him he stands up and arms himself but there is no dialogue or mission update. So he ends up sitting back down in the same position. I've tried doing the quicksave/quickload fix like with the Clear Sky scientist escort mission but that doesn't help and I've also tried just doing other missions then coming back. Not sure what to do here. Maybe you guys know how to fix this? Oh and he is apparently unkillable. I just shot rounds into him and they just phase through.
list your addons.
k here is my list: OWR NinjaNub's HD Pack
alpha squad yeah
I thought this was a good system overall, but SGM turned their shit up to 11, so you'd walk out of Zaton and get immediately murdered from the hills. Or it spawned multiple squads. Or spawned them every half hour or so.

Is there something that exists to fix weapon distribution in STCoP?

Trying out CoC on my new comp with a 1070, oh my god it is a thing of beauty. DX10 maxed out 4xAA, 250 grass radius, 0.25 grass density, Ninja NUB's HD pack and in cordon I'm getting 100+ fps still. The initial load on DX10 is still a little longer than I'd prefer for having an SSD (like 20 sec still) but after that it's 3 seconds so I can live with it Also apparently all you need to do when it asks you to install CoP is to just double click it on steam - CoC loads instantly and I don't even have to install the game, i can just pause the download.
I do dx11 maxed @4k on my 970. iirc the aa in stalker doesn't do shit so I'd recommend just supersampling with dsr
It doesn't? I swear it looks way less aliased than dx9 on my other comp
Not in my experience, but supersampling is so nice that you should probably just do it anyways
Well now my game is crashing 5 min after starting, I think it might be the DoctorX faction addon because before the first crash loners started shooting me randomly (even though i was a loner) but i'm not sure EDIT: Tried it without it, still CTD's after 5 min, maybe it's the weapon distribution mod? It hasn't been updated since the end of last year I think i'll try the Roadside picnic mod merge instead of fucking around with a bunch of mods and wasting my god damn time trying to figure out the problem EDIT: Ok i have no idea wtf is going on, it even happens sitting in the menu, I just want to play FFS EDIT: I think it might've been the renderer, I switched to DX9 enhanced and I had a crash related to missing particles but that is clearly an addon crash and not something arbitrary, I'm gonna try the CS DX10 fix where you remove KB2670838 just for the hell of it
I do dx11 maxed @4k on my 970. iirc the aa in stalker doesn't do shit so I'd recommend just supersampling with dsr
Running 4k myself. I always thought of 4k as a gimmick but honestly after taking the bait and buying a pretty powerful rig to run a dedicated 4k setup I can't ever go back to anything less than 4k. Especially when I get 4k 60fps on pretty much anything ai play or try so far.
Is it possible to make some sort of mod for CoC to change how radiation poisoning works? I had problems with fallout 4 for sure, but I really liked how radiation would lower your max health, thought that was a good way to keep it from being "LEMME POP DRUGS FASTER THAN I GET POISONED" and I think it might fit STALKER quite well
It's a good mechanic but it's a kinda annoying just having a sliver of red capping your health bar.
Well i switched to after some frame drops and dx11 runs vastly better than dx10, but i get this 30 second load time that literally sits at the loading screen at 0% on an initial load. on DX9 I get no such thing, initial load is 5 seconds on my SSD. I wonder if it's even worth it or i should stay on DX9 and up the DSR as much as i can
My favorite radiation system is probably fo3/nv wherein there are incremental tiers of debuffs rather than just constantly draining your hp so just having a little isn't deadly like in stalker, but also isn't a meaningless annoyance until it's bad enough to bother with like it is in fo4. Being able to stand a little radiation rather than having to instantly take action or die a slow death seems a lot more sensible to me. The default Stalker system is my least favorite system because A. it doesn't tell you how fast your being irradiated, you just have to rely on visual/audio feedback and B. it doesn't tell you how irradiated you are even though anti-rad items have numerical values. All you have is a radiation symbol that changes colors with the severity. It's really unintuitive and clunky imo. [editline]16th March 2017[/editline] I can do dx11 @ 4k on my 970/i7 4790k, can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to do both. The "first load" is always the longest, and subsequent loads are much shorter.
Yeah it does run fine, but I've already had 2 stability crashes where i had to drop down my texture quality (xray + mods issue i guess?), which if they continue to happen that initial load is gonna really start to grate on me
Honestly I'd say if you can invest into an M.2 Drive. I got one myself and it makes load times scarily short even on absolute max at 4k etc etc and with a life switch distance thrown way up and the likes.
Did I directly contribute to this change being made? :v: https://bitbucket.org/revo_lucas/call-of-chernobyl/commits/0963c7333f1c87000d16bc7d241388a49169d6cb

The tradeoff in load times and stability are not worth it for me, though I have the gpu to run 10/11. There's also the necessity to remove MS patches. So I stay at Enhanced Full Dynamic Lighting in all the games. Alundaio has said here that 9 has the most optimized code of the three. I believe 11 runs faster than 10 because it is lacking some of the features in 10. Your choices is between 9 and 10.1.
