• S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: Maybe someday mods releasing edition

I wasn't talking about added elements, but he replied to me like I was, so I'm confused.
You said "added" as in - additional. Perhaps I'm just splitting hairs over semantics, but most mods fail to add anything to STALKER in my view.
Oh I see, I said "improved gameplay elements some mods have added." That was poor wording but the emphasis was intended for "improved", not "added"
if a player abuses the economy or has too much money have an NPC spawn that robs you, think Witcher 3s Tax Collector if you abused the cow respawn bug
Any help would be greatly appreciated - while I'm now at least proficient in scripting for Stalker, there are many changes I would like to make that would require new models and textures. While so far I've relied on editing other peoples work to suit my needs, having someone with actual experience would be greatly beneficial so I would be able to focus more on what I'm good at. Unfortunately, since this is a project I'm primarily doing as a learning experience and for 'fun', I don't have a budget and can only offer you a nice place on the credits list and a grateful me for any work you contribute. Definitely add me on steam and we can talk more. Steam Community That goes for anyone else as well, if you think you can help in any sort of way. While I primarily need models/textures/animations, I also find suggestions/ideas of any kind to be helpful as well. I've also been paying attention to the recent ideas posted in this thread and while I may not agree with them or might not implement them as a feature, they're still useful for discussion and creative process. I have a huge list of stuff on my to-do list now.
I'm in the SoC camp of repairing personally. I felt like the lack of repairs really made me feel like i was scavenging. I think a middle ground would be nice where it's possible to repair things but you still need to scavenge. Idk how you'd make that work though, maybe having repairs require specific parts you have to find for the npc to use, instead of just being tied to RUs? Sort of like how path of exile made items with specific uses to trade for other items instead of gold. Hell maybe a reworking of the trading system in general so npcs would only trade for certain items
Regarding repairs, a permanent degradation of a gun could be implemented. Think Far Cry 2, except you can repair your gun before it explodes, but never quite to the pristine state a fresh-off-the-assembly gun would have.
Or EfT that removes from the maximum condition after each repair and you have different quality repairs. Go cheap and you'll have to replace the item earlier.
I like these ideas. Maybe some weapons are more readily repaired than others. AK variant repairs should be cheap and easy but more rare weapons might require you to bring additional components to the smith. And maybe there's always some small chance that when you bring a gun to the smith, they find something catastrophically wrong with it and it's irreparable, with that chance increasing every time you get it repaired. I had an idea for doing self-repairs on your weapons where it's like a puzzle minigame and you have to move and orient tools and components in the right way to accomplish repairs. It would be a nice atmosphere-friendly break from shootin' n' lootin'. If you want to avoid the minigame you can just ditch your gun and get a new weapon, but if it's a rare item or something you'd rather keep then you're incentivized to maintain it
I was bored of the old inventory UI style, so I made a new one (wip) http://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/366/365208/xrEngine_2018-05-13_02-03-31-42.png http://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/366/365208/xrEngine_2018-05-13_02-03-15-69.png http://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/366/365208/xrEngine_2018-05-13_02-03-02-63.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/335172502298951680/444973107581812737/ui_actor_menu.png

We will never stop, until we have fully cleansed the Zone.
Благодарим Тебя за то, что раскрыл слугам Твоим козни врагов наших!
I released my UI mod, enjoy
I tried holding up in there before, but that very same door catapulted me into outer space.
Would you at all be interested in creating some UI elements for me? I am interested in creating some new stuff all around, but need a good graphics artists. Add me if you're interested.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw0YWGhmN5U new Dead Air video Major inspirations for Dead Air have been projects such as MISERY (meh), NLC(much better), Autumn Aurora, and OGSE NLC sounds like Misery - make Stalker more hardcore and realisting but while Misery failed miserably the NLC become successful (because it wasn't made with bullshit), at least in post-soviet world thanks to lack of decent english translation.
It looks interesting and I'm sure a lot of effort has been put into it, so I'll definitely be checking it out once an English version is released, but... The melee looks really out of place, in my opinion. I feel like shovels and axes belong in more of an apocalyptic setting, but that's just me. While I did see a sort of "quick attack" that you can use while holding your weapon, I'd much rather see it using the knife, and I'd also think that for melee variation, it'd be different knives of sorts ranging from shitty pocket knives to KABAR knives, which of course increasing the damage your "quick attack" would do. But again, that's just me. Also, the saturation seems way to high in certain areas, while other seems fine. Can't say for sure since the graphical settings might play a part into it, but the effects might be a bit over the top in some areas.
I'm more interested in them making melee useful in the first place. If that happen them it will be revolution cause nobody use that for anything beside crates smashing.
Unless they've "balanced" the economy to make it difficult to use guns in the very early game, I would imagine melee is not going to be that useful in the sense that you're most likely only ever going to be trading blows with mutants, so unless you get a good dodge off you're going to have to use medical supplies in order to use melee against mutants. As for using it against stalkers, I believe I saw a video of them basically one-shotting a stalker with a shovel. While banzai-charging might work sometimes, you're obviously at risk of getting shot. I think the only time you'd use melee against stalkers is if they were neutral or you were able to sneak up behind them. However, unless they've made it so you can melee-kill stalkers without their friends noticing, you would most likely only be able to kill one stalker before the rest aggro you and you'd have to either find cover and use a gun or bum rush and hope for the best.
That mosin rifle omg

https://gsc-game.com/ it's listed on the official gsc site as well SEEMS LEGIT
this is extremely exploitable for when a playable build leaks or something lmao
Oh god please be real and good
Here's hope that they still remember why people got drawn to the series in the first place and don't compromise on what made these games so god damn fucking great for the sake of "modernization".
Hoooly shit. Never though I would see the day. After all the news of electrical outages in their offices and gangsters demanding money from them I thought the whole studio was fucked.
