I moved the character I made for the facepunch guild over to Azjol Nerub so as not to waste the gold I made, my main now has over 1100g for the first time ever. Only thing is, it was so relaxing playing with a character not in a guild that I decided to train as a tailor since I've never done that before. Now I've become a bit obsessed and have been sending my main out to farm for wool cloth, spider's silk and so on instead of levelling. More fun than Blasted Lands, but at the same time I feel kind of guilty.

Why are there so many 70+ dks still in the starter gear. I know it looks good and all but you can replace a good amount of it in hellfire.

I find many of these arguments to be elitist. This is not a "catering to the casuals" issue. This is an issue that even some of our most educated and math-savy players could not make gear decisions without the help of external tools. We're much less concerned about more casual players because the specific choice of upgrade will mean less for them (skill outweighs the contribution of stats for all but the absolute best players) and they often choose pieces based on things like art over stats. I'm talking about very hardcore raiders who no longer could eyeball a piece of gear with any degree of authority. I might believe that some very few of you are so proficient with the math as to be able to eyeball the stats, but I think you are vastly overestimating the number of players who can or do. Remember, the formula to convert armor penetration into damage was so complicated that we had to take the unusual step of actually spelling out how it was calculated.

theorycrafting makes the game more complex though :/

I don't see why people are bitching about the stats changing. Half of the high end raiders go look on the net for a BiS list for their class and follow it instead of finding out for themselves by doing the math and shit. Hell, I'm sure there are lots of people in this thread that just went to EJ and looked at their BiS lists without even thinking twice. coughgbcough
