i actually remember playing "Half Life 2: Return to Xen" years and years ago
the .zip file with the mod contents wasn't even set up properly, so i had to make my own mod folder in my "sourcemods" directory, and when i started it up, i was promptly greeted by the main menu which was a random jumble of icons in no order what-so-ever
then i loaded up a map, which was imported from the leaked version of Half Life 2
all i could do was really walk around with a non-functional Winchester Model 1894 from what i recall

It's probably the best example of a troll-mod we have, actually. After all, it wasn't just some kid's my first map project or a drug-induced mess, it was an honest project with the goal of trolling someone.
