Been watching out for this for a while. Definitely backed! Sucks that you don't get the final game though.
Can't understand if the "free until the final release" means we are getting free update for alpha/beta, or if they mean free until (and including) the absolute last update of the full version. According to what it says it's the former, but unless I'm mistaken neither of them are native English speakers. [editline]27th July 2012[/editline]
It says that when the beta turns into the final game you'll get that too.
Funny how I managed to miss the CAPS LOCK DONT MISS THIS part. [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] Though I can't be the only one who doesn't give a single fuck about posters, plushes and shirts right? I'd happily pledge more than 25$, but that's where the stuff I'm interested in ends.
I'm still waiting on Cube World. :( This looks really good though.
definitely pledging.
I want to back it. But at the same time, I hate what kickstarter is doing on certain levels.
I want to back it. But at the same time, I hate what kickstarter is doing on certain levels.
What's wrong with what it's doing?
Have to say, after watching the new trailer I'm a lot more excited. Was really afraid they'd target that kind of audience (you know, the kind that, in a multiplayer zombie game, plays as a zombie and goes "lol im ur pet dont shoot me ill follow u") and make it some carebear cuddling simulator (I'm not expecting WH40k grimdark, but it's nice to see bricktrons dying and shit exploding).
funding
What's wrong with what it's doing?
Sometimes I worry that the desire to make something that is popular and thus will garner more kickstarter funding, can get in the way of them making something that they actually want to make. And a lot of the time, too much money can absolutely ruin indie devs. Introversion is a good example of this.
i remember this. Can't wait for release.
reminds me of dorf fort. definitely getting when it comes out.
- Bricktrons who meet on a narrow path won't walk through each other, they change their equipment and swap roles (genius.gif)
hahah
jesus they're already 55% of the way to their goal in only a couple of hours...
Still looks great. Bricktron is still a crap name. I would donate if I could.
There, it took me a bit, but I updated the OP to include the new website, new media, and kickstarter. Anything else yall want added?
When is the beta supposed to happen?
Probably the first Indie game I'll ever buy
This game looks really interesting, thanks. Me and a few friends have just bought it.
Definitely funding this. Looks like a fun game. This has the potential to be waaay bigger than Minecraft.
Hell yes, I have been waiting for this game for ages! [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] Also, backed $15 :)
bricktron is hot
$25: 1731 backers $50: 60 backers Looks like I wasn't the only one not interested in shirts. Seriously they need better rewards higher up, it's a huge drop after $25 and I doubt it's all due to the extra $25 (especially since it drops right where the in-game rewards stop).
I was interested in a shirt, but I couldn't afford it. Oh well, 15$ is better than nothing.
I pledged $50. TAKE MY MONEY!
Something like Dwarf Fortress but with multiplayer has been one of my biggest dreams that I thought I'd never see in real life. This will probably satisfy that dream and fulfill the vision even better. Pledged 15$.
Pledged $25, both because I'm impatient and want the prototype builds and because I think this game looks so good already that the devs deserve a bit more than $15 of my money!
I dont get the kickstarter thing, is it 15 dollar for only the BETA and it doesn't get updated after the full release or do I need to pay the 25 dollar for the full thing
backed 15, also, the studio is really close to me, so I can go check on their progress :v: Not really, but still, interesting game. I hope they don't make the game a "minecraft" (Play the beta/alpha for years, never get the finished product) [editline]27th July 2012[/editline]
I dont get the kickstarter thing, is it 15 dollar for only the BETA and it doesn't get updated after the full release or do I need to pay the 25 dollar for the full thing
15 dollars, you get the beta and the game (In October) 25 dollars, you get the "alpha" (which is a playable version in August) + the beta and the game.
Personally, I'm not too bothered about getting a 'finished product'. If the betas are playable and mostly stable (I can put up with a few crashes here and there) then I'd prefer them to spend a long time getting it right and then releasing it, rather than trying to go for an early release at the risk of less interesting or well-developed features. Just my two cents.
Looks really fun :v: Can't wait
About not getting the final game:
YES! We are going to update the Beta until we stop calling it a beta. You will still be the proud owner of a full license of the game. Everyone who backs our Kickstarter at at the least the first reward has a version of the final game.
Every single reward tier gives you the final game.
As much as I'd like to get this game, they've already reached their goal (and more than doubled it), and I would really prefer to buy the game at a fixed price through an automatic website because I've had really shitty experiences with manual game purchasing in the past and I'd like to absolutely guarantee my copy of the game.
