then don't pay right now.
As much as I'd like to get this game, they've already reached their goal (and more than doubled it), and I would really prefer to buy the game at a fixed price through an automatic website because I've had really shitty experiences with manual game purchasing in the past and I'd like to absolutely guarantee my copy of the game.
That doesn't make sense. $15 is a fixed price, isn't it? Just get the game now so you can play the Beta, you're making a problem out of nothing. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline] Also, manual game purchasing? You realize that when you pledge $15, you gain access to the Beta (which a lot of Facepunch users have verified will be regularly updated and you'll end up with the full-game at the end of it, at no extra charge) some time in October. Kickstarter is an automatic system, so once you pay, you just wait until Castle Story! is released as the Beta / Final game and you'll be able to get it.
jesus. they went well over their goal in about a day.
jesus. they went well over their goal in about a day.
I wonder how much they'll have in 29 days.

I shall deploy my plastic card to the required position. You seem a little hostile about it, though.
I wonder how much they'll have in 29 days.
I wonder what they are going to do with all that money (I doubt it will keep going like this, but if it did they'd reach 5.4 millions). Hire more people to help I guess, here's hoping for a tonne of content then.
Oh, that clears things up then. I shall deploy my plastic card to the required position. You seem a little hostile about it, though.
My apologies. I don't mean to be, but forming coherent sentences is a bit of a problem for me right now. Been up for more than I should, trying to fix my sleeping pattern. But yeah, get the game and enjoy it when the Beta comes out :) It's as simple as paying the $15 and then waiting for when the Dev's release the Beta sometime late August / October.
Collapsed in and bought the 25$ one. gotta have that prototype
I hope we will be able to have very large islands and maps (as in, maps with large amounts of islands). Would be cool to completely envelop an island in bricks and make it a fortress or to dig into the mountain and make the "castle" inside the island.

Stop making me want it more.
I like how they plan to keep it a beta until they decide the game will be complete complete, unlike Notch who apparently just couldn't justify another price increase without including some stupid reason, so he simply added a boss monster and called it complete.
Just backed this for 25 dollar, can't wait for the prototype.
i'm interested to see what they do with the extra money (stretch goals)
i'm interested to see what they do with the extra money (stretch goals)
Probably free expansions or a LOT more content.
Saw this on Twitter and instantly backed it for $25 because I'm really impatient. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline]
I wonder how much they'll have in 29 days.
If the trend were to stay the same it'll be around $3.2 Million http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/902505202/castle-story Although I think it'll go over that as the buzz spreads. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline] Or pledges will crash and burn after a week...
I wonder how much they'll have in 29 days.
probably around 450-650k
What the fuck, man, I'm having trouble waiting for the game as it is. Stop making me want it more.
These 28 days are going to be tough.
Will there be support for building a castle inside the islands? Ie, some sort of X-ray camera if we go subterranean?
Will there be support for building a castle inside the islands? Ie, some sort of X-ray camera if we go subterranean?
well that would be useful for shit like seeing what's going on inside a building or turret too. we pretty much NEED that wonder if we can remove blocks after placing them so that we can add on to stuff. that would be neat [editline]28th July 2012[/editline] also i hope they use quite a bit of this funding for servers or get a deal with a distributor or something. when popular indie games update (see KSP) it's a bitch
Will there be support for building a castle inside the islands? Ie, some sort of X-ray camera if we go subterranean?
Well we'll need to see inside the castles so I'd imagine there'll be some kind of xray view.
If I pledge, is the money taken straight away or after it ends.
also just pledged $25 since this is one of the more "we have our shit together" projects on kickstarter. i generally don't like the idea of kickstarter though. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline]
If I pledge, is the money taken straight away or after it ends.
says on the billing FAQ that it is charged when it ends, if they get their funding (and they got that after 5 hours)
Also, with all this money they're getting I hope they expand the RTS elements, maybe even make a Dwarf Fortress Lite thing where you have to manage the needs of the minions. Though they should definitely keep going with their current direction of securing the core gameplay before adding too much micro management.

[sp]Clearly the either reproduce by budding/spores OR they are created out of that tiberium they were mining.[/sp]

You get to see the bricktrons suck and fuck like rabbits with body juices spraying all over your newly built castle and flooding out of the gates. Most probably like Janus said, those crystals have something to do with it.
Most probably like Janus said, those crystals have something to do with it.
It makes the most sense. The developers said the bricktrons were like evolved rock, the bad guys look like rocktrons (lollolthishadbetternotbetheactualnameI'llstabsomeone). If both come from the tiberium then boom. You need that shit to reproduce, they need it to reproduce, the conflict makes total sense.

As for the reason of the conflict that depends if they are going to be two warring factions, or if those rock creatures (no I'm not calling them that name) are savage brutes that come at night. Maybe there will be corrupted tiberium as the cause for the rock creatures.
While the yellow and black fight (I refuse to say their actual names, they sound dumb) the Brotherhood of Nod will take all the tiberium. Seriously though I hope multiplayer is competitive over a large terrain.
[sp]Clearly the either reproduce by budding/spores OR they are created out of that tiberium they were mining.[/sp]
Makes more sense than in other RTS games like Age of Empires, where you collect meat from a berry shrub before stitching it together to create people and animals with it. At least that's how I always saw it.
