thx Zoo. I love your pic lol - it's hard not to keep looking at it once you see it. On the F-Gen drivers, it will be easy for you to make settings for a game yourself. That is the main point of it - for the community to create game drivers. We built in a scripting system that you'll easily pick up if you're technical, and once a game's settings are complete, you can export/import with the push of a button, and share with your friends. yep, I definitely know Garry's Mod ;) It is a top game that I'd like to get. We sent Garry a Falcon quite a while back, but now's the time to get back in touch with him. I was talking to someone yesterday about getting back in touch with him - hopefully we can get it integrated. That is a game that the Falcon could add a lot to, and vice-versa. thx, tomnovint
Ya my picture is the face of this weird doll I found in some store. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be from a TV show or what. Well with the F-Gen drivers, even if you never get around to working with Garry, I'm sure TONS of people will be spilling out drivers with cool stuff for it, since that's what everyone does on Gmod anyways. If I get into the F-Gen drivers, I might try making some cool stuff for Gmod. I've seen some videos of people testing the Falcon on Team Fortress 2, but I don't see that as one of the games you have listed to have drivers for. But since it essentially is another mod of Half Life 2, and you have the drivers for Half Life 2, is this why they are able to use the Falcon on it? I'm asking because a lot of people on here play TF2 and would love to use the Falcon with it.
cool on people working on it and doing cool stuff. That's definitely what we're hoping for. TF2 is definitely a supported game. I'm a big fan of TF2 myself. Here's a video I made of me playing, with picture in picture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oa9H1P-K89s We get a bunch of Falcon players together to play TF2 every Wednesday night. The Falcon is very good in TF2 once you get used to it. We just had a contest pitting steam user board members against a home grown Falcon team, and the Falconers won most of the matches easily. thx, tomnovint [editline]10:24PM[/editline]
Yeah, it's Tom. He's really one of the nicest CEO's I've ever had the pleasure of talking to, Falcon customer support is great. (Tom, I'm the guy that wants to order a black falcon, but was getting the 'Order can not be processed' message.) But yes, GarrysMod support would be great.
thanks FlameCow - just responded to your email ;) tomnovint
Is the Falcon supports DiRT 2? I heard it supports racing games, and those who tried it said you can actually "feel" the feedback in the stick while driving which sounds awesome.
Sweet I got my tracking number It's coming this Friday :smug:
We don't support Dirt 2 right now, but racing games is an area that I want to put a lot of emphasis on for our F-Gen drivers in 2010, and it is also where I think the Falcon holds a huge amount of potential. Our next grip lilkely will be a steering wheel grip. XLR8, our racing game, is one of my all time favorite games. Here is a video of how the Falcon works with racing games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi8pssf8py0 right on fpsfanboy, welcome to the Falcon family!
Sweet I got my tracking number It's coming this Friday :smug:
I'm hoping mine will come in before this weekend. I ordered it Monday, but I used PayPal and used the money from my savings account so I had to use an eCheck, which takes a few days to go through. It will be a miracle if it comes in Friday, and I'll be really lucky if it comes in Saturday.
Hey Tom, just wondering, but how many orders did you get over the course of the black friday sale? There's no need for an exact number or anything, but it'd be interesting to know. Also, for my own peace of mind, Will orders shipping to the same address will be shipped together [at the same time], or not? I've got two headed to my house [when they ship :v:], and it'd be nice if they arrived at the same time.
A steering wheel grip sounds fantastic, I'm still waiting on my tracking number, although living in Australia I expect it's going to take awhile to get here.
Ugh, hope I get some spare cash some time soon.. I'd even buy this full price, I am just broke.
Woo, I just got my shipping confirmation and it'll be here the 7th.
Woo, I just got my shipping confirmation and it'll be here the 7th.
Me too! I haven't decided what game I will try first with it. I think I'll give it a go with Crysis, or Half Life: 2. I don't mind if my Orange Box or Penumbra key comes by then since I already have a bunch of supported games for it.
I really really wanted to get a Falcon while it was on the Christmas sale, I even emailed Tom about an issue I was having trying to order. But sadly I didn't get any reply as of yet :( So I missed the deal, Tom any chance you can private message me about the email I sent you? I will let you know any details you need in a private message :)
I'm going to play through halflife 2 and both its episoded once I get my Falcon at christmas.
I'm going to go on Crysis and pick up a turtle when I get mine. Want to see how heavy it is
With the F-Gen drivers, would it be possible to program the Falcon to control a RC plane/helicopter/car/boat? I have a helicopter, and I know it has a gyro, allowing someone to detect the pitch, yaw and roll of the helicopter. This could be translated for the Falcon, allowing you to feel the helicopter while you fly it. Then all you would have to do, is to hook up the controls with the Falcon, and fly away. (This would require additional hardware for communication between the computer and the helicopter. But that shouldn't be much harder than making a onboard camera.) Could that be something you were interested in, Tom? [editline]07:10PM[/editline] While I know the Falcon is for gaming mainly, it would be kinda cool if it was some sort of universal controller.
Hey Everyone, I'm tomnovint, Novint's ceo. The Falconers who have been posting can attest that I'm really me (Burger is a moderator on our forum, Marler is a new and increasingly active member of our community, and Devin is an active member, etc. all great guys). I love this forum. It has all the cussing but not the usual amount of attitude and trolling lol. Sweet, sincerely. For any of you who decided to get a Falcon, welcome to the Falcon family!! For those of you who just ordered, we'll be shipping Falcons in the next couple of days (I'll be helping with the shipping myself, given all the orders we've gotten), and you'll get a tracking number. You'll be getting your Orange Box keys in emails shortly as well, if you don't have it already. I personally answer all message board posts on the Novint message boards, so please consider me at your disposal to make your Falcon experience a great one ;) thx, tomnovint [editline]09:48PM[/editline] One other thing... for the moderators/owners of Facepunch, I'd be interested in doing some Falcon specials for the Facepunch community. From my initial introduction, it is a community I'd like to get more involved with, and do some fun stuff for the community (please email me if interested at: tf2contest[at]novint[dot]com). Also, Thorny, I agree you should get a commission ;) please send me a note to tf2contest[at]novint[dot]com and I can chat with you about it - thanks for starting the thread here and introducing Novint to the community. finally, thanks again to the Falconers who jumped on the thread to help answer questions. As always, you guys are really great, and it is much appreciated ;) thx, tomnovint
When I got your confirmation email for my purchase I knew this company and product was legit, it's very rare a CEO talks like you do and posts on community message boards. You have no idea how much respect I have for you. My Falcon is supposed to get here on Friday and I am super excited. Just wanted to say thanks a lot, please never become like Nintendo and forget their original fans in favor of more money if you become successful on a large scale. Never forget those who made you who you are. :) Thats why we all love Valve.
I joined the Novint community forum :D
Novint + EPOC = godlike. :3:
Tom's really nice, he'll probably be really understanding about the subject, he was for me. I had the same issue. Just try not to scam Novint, that wouldn't be cool.
Oh ofcourse not, he can check the time of the email I sent to his inbox, was a couple of days before it ended I believe, It was important as I had an issue with the site, and asked a question regarding postage. Didn't want to buy it then realize I couldn't pay for it or something, so thought I'd be careful about it, but to my detriment it seems.
A question for those of you that have gotten your tracking numbers: What day did you order your falcon?
A question for those of you that have gotten your tracking numbers: What day did you order your falcon?
Friday.
A question for those of you that have gotten your tracking numbers: What day did you order your falcon?
Friday Night GMT.
Does anyone know how much the shipping costs (The Netherlands)?
UPS said mine is comming on Friday!
Does anyone know how much the shipping costs (The Netherlands)?
Probably around 65-75 dollars, considering the UK is $66.50.
Damn, I'll have to wait untill I have some more money. I can't wait to try this. :neckbeard:.
A question for those of you that have gotten your tracking numbers: What day did you order your falcon?
Saturday Night
For anyone that missed the sale, you can get the Falcon bundle 20% off, if you use the code "CROCODILE". I hope this helps!
Friday night Eastern time, and im getting mine on tuesday. WEDNESDAY, FUCK.
Hmm, I ordered mine last Friday and I still don't have a confirmation code. But hey, when I finally get mine, and when the F-Gen drivers come out, I'm going to have a blast using this while playing Doom.
