I've bothered my parents enough to consider giving me this for christmas.. :D
I'd buy it myself, but the shipping is just too much, I hardly have any work (time wise, atleast.) with my current jobs.. And they're both paying the lowest legal amounts..
They'll discuss presents today/tomorrow. And let me know if I get it.
(Yes. I still live at home, with my parents.. With pretty much everything paid for by them, I don't see why I should move :P, and they're nice company.)
I really want to try it out. Who doesn't? It certainly seems like a device that enchances the gameplay greatly, from the looks of it.
The only reason (which I'm not sure if it's true, but I would suppose) for not using this in games all the time would be my arm would get tired. When you use your mouse, you are usually resting your hand down on the table and just lifting your wrist. But with the falcon, you must have your entire arm lifted, along with fighting against the forces of it pushing you around.
Very very cool, but may be tiring.

Think of it as training.. :D It's like the armwrestler world champion though.. Only your right arm would get 'pumped'
Mu ha ha, I still live at home, no problem there. Then again I'm helping watch my younger siblings.
Zoo, I posted my solution in an earlier post. Just need some kind of arm rest.
I have really really big hands, I wear a size 15 shoe to give you an idea, do you think it'll fit me good?
Yes. It's when your hand is too small that there's a problem.
When will the drivers letting it perform as a mouse be released? I would love this if it worked in all games.
That is what is going to make or break sales.
Slated to be before the end of the year. There is a alpha out that works on 32 bit Windows.
I might get it as long as shipping isn't much more.
I hope they do get it to work with any game.
looks like the portal device
What the fuck is that "controller" even supposed to be? It's a gun pointed to a ball/helmet of some kind by the looks of it.
What the fuck is that "controller" even supposed to be? It's a gun pointed to a ball/helmet of some kind by the looks of it.
The gun is a special grip that replaces the standard ball grip that comes as default.
The 'ball/helmet' is the Falcon itself, it's filled with motors/gyros and is what makes it work.
So how much does thing reduce fps anyway?
Why would you ever want one?
So how much does thing reduce fps anyway?
Why would it reduce FPS? That's like saying having a generic gamepad or a second keyboard would reduce FPS.
Well I just remember hearing that this thing can cause that because of all the extra processing of all the extra collisions, vibrations and bumps that have to put through to the controller.

you heard wrong it's not going to affect your FPS, only your aim :D
No reported FPS drops I have seen nor experienced, and even then, literally, my aim has increased in many games. Even with the forces.
Well I just remember hearing that this thing can cause that because of all the extra processing of all the extra collisions, vibrations and bumps that have to put through to the controller.
Technically the game would be already processing that since it would be built in. It doesn't change anything.
It might not affect the FPS but it would affect CPU useage. Also for the people saying it would make your arm hurt while using it, use it about 10-15 times (increasing the total play time each time) and your arm muscles will become strong enough to support itself. People who play a instrument (string, brass or similar) know what I mean.
It does little to nothing to the processor. There literally is no noticeable difference with or without the Falcon.
Edit: Not sure how this is a dumb post but perhaps I can explain. The game already works out from where damage, movement, and such are coming from. These events are sent to the Falcon and translated by the Falcon into forces. It's not the CPU's job to figure out what to do with the data, just push it out to the Falcon and take in clicks and grip movement. So long as the game has Falcon support the Falcon can understand what it's given. This is why you won't see any difference, it's just putting the already existing event in a readable form for the Falcon. These packets of data are very small and thus require minimal CPU processing to send though the USB.
