Yeah, reading some of his ENG posts, he seems like a pretty cool guy.
Being on SF would definitely bring in some more popularity.
well especially we can get people coding e.g. the physics part or details the author dont have tiem for and so on ...
you can see it with Celestia the program is amazing, it looks dormant but there is still development (SVN) and they preparing slowly for another major public release (dev forums)
Decided to explore the other galaxies. Crashed most of the time.
Some of them I was able to fully explore though.
Do all the planets use the same cloud texture? I mean, I wouldn't mind, but it's a pretty bad texture in the first place.
*still waiting for Infinity*

(yeah, I know that picture is impossible in reality, but still :P)
Thanks to you, I had a nightmare about the moon being fucking huge and having so much gravity I got pulled out of Earth's atmosphere, into space and falling to death on the Moon :colbert:
EDIT: No seriously, this isn't funny! It was a fucking terrifying experience, floating in space and seeing the gigantic Moon get bigger and bigger and bigger and being unable to breathe and being extremely cold and looking down and seeing an endless void and and and :aaa:
Found my first planet with life. :v:
i wish the mipmap generation works on AMD (ATI) cards ...
i want detailed surface !!!! argh
It works on my ATi card, it's just a little slow sometimes.
I can't wait for him to fix the procedural generation, the problem resides in the program trying to generate higher resolution to a much larger area than it needs to when you're looking at something, also it forgets to delete it when you zoom out.
Went to another galaxy and found a warm terra with life with a moon that's also a warm terra with life.

Game looks fucking sexy.
What are the system reqs for this?
I have a 9400GT, 2GB DDR2, and a 2.8Ghz AMD Dual Core.

Instead of a black hole, its a black cube.
Have any of you guys found a solution to the constant crashing for the updated version yet?
It works on my ATi card, it's just a little slow sometimes.
it's about the feature missing (detailed textures) and for me it means instant crashing nearly always near any planetary bodie (from star over planet to asteroid/comet)...
author told me he will try work out better solution
also we were able spot problem with formating characters which most likely is messing most of these who do any modding, will be fixed in next build :)

i assume you use these 0.3 == 30% chance of life ... try it with 0.03 or 0.003 :) then that's some challenge

Pentagon.
Pentagon
Of course you meant to say Hexagon. :P
Pentagon.
Its a cube. It is 3d.

That's what I mean, the mip-mapping works on my card, I have detailed textures and craters on all the planets and it barley ever crashes.
0.93 suddenly stopped crashing (I've used it like 5 times today, one of them was for 2 hours and it didn't crash once), it's a friggin miracle.
On a side note, I've found the largest solar system yet, 12 planets and a total of 40 moons/asteroids.
So, does anyone know what the Precomputed Atmosphere Models on the downloads page do?
So, does anyone know what the Precomputed Atmosphere Models on the downloads page do?
They're supposed to be more realistic atmosphere systems for the known planets in our solar system but I don't think they work with the latest version, just gives me errors when trying to load them

that's very suspicious may i ask what driver?

instead of generating procedural atmosphere it uses pre-made atmospheric models which fits more 'correctly' our sol planets ;)

GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY! Wahey!
I want a star trek game on this engine.............
A RPG space exploration......
This is what Spore should have been like :v:

I've got a ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5650 Using the Catalyst 11.2 drivers.
The only bug I get is when I put the camera on the surface of a planet and look towards a close star sometimes the lighting screws up and black bars start flashing across the screen.

{mumble something of omg why i have better card and newer drivers when it don't work lol}
Gah! This game would be so much better without the constant crashing
I pray for a magical update or fix of some sort which gets rid all the crashes.
