I am getting this strange glitch when I go near planets which makes their atmosphere or reflections and shit freak out.

:psyduck:
Crashes aren't gone, I just whitescreened in Andromeda.
:sigh:
And Many stars orbiting the blackhole :)

Asteroids :D And all those white lines are the orbits of the other asteroids in the field!!

Space Engine really disturbs me for some reason. I feel sorta anxious when travelling around to other places, or visiting the center of the Milky Way. It's just creepy, but i'm not completely sure why.
Looks like motion keeps going while you're lagging even if buttons aren't being pressed.
I hope you know where your lag started.
Yep.
I was looking at the Milky way from a way away, slowly moving toward it.
Suddenly, a 10-minute Lag spike passes. I am now in a galaxy several kpc away from the galaxy that is several kpc away from the Milky Way.
I'm loving this update already. Two stars right next to each other, wouldn't want to be in that solar system!

Binary stars were already there before this update.
[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
Also, it's probably possible to live in that system so long as your planet is far away enough.

The size of the universe scares me.
On the upside though, the program is very stable now. No crashes through the galaxy centers anymore!

The universe is your friend. :buddy:
Binary stars were already there before this update.
I know but i'd never seen them that close together before. And There are also planets orbiting the individual stars and then others floating lightyears out into space around both of them. One of the stars has so much gravity that it has two separate asteroid fields!
Not sure if i'm late on this, but if this guy pulls through, this game will be fucking awesome, and i'd be willing to buy it at any price.
If I introduce networking, there will be possibility of organization of database on the web server. Players can upload to server descriptions and coordinates of interesting places they discovered, and download such descriptions from other players. Automatic search algorithm will find interesting events like solar eclipses or expected supernova explosions, and players can read about this in "astronomical news" and fly there to watch these events themself. Even can be introduced possibility of interacting between players like cooperative journies or combats, but with some restrictions, determined by network bandwidth and server performance.
So I need some help. I just decided to get this and am having huge lag problems. Every time I try and get close to an object the game lags to hell.
I'm pretty sure my settings can handle at least with a majority of the settings enabled. Running a 5770, i7 860, 4gb ram. What settings should I enable/disable to make the experience better?
Woo, Love this version, less crashes, and its not causing my computer to lock up anymore.

Does that for me too, try turning your landscape LOD down.
And just think, the real universe and real galaxies are exponentially larger than what this game displays. :smith:
[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
the framerate is higher now, but now I'm continuously freezing every few seconds.
Does that for me too, try turning your landscape LOD down.
Gotcha. Yeah because for the most part I can zoom around with procedural stuff on and it's only when I get down close that it freezes up.

Also clusters are orgasmic as hell.
I have never had so many nerdgasms in my life.
I hope they model in a semi realistic handling aircraft for flying around planets. Sort of like Infinity's. Nothing like a Cessna but you know, Flying around at mach 1, 10, and being able to control it much like an aircraft with a joystick. I know it has sort of an aircraft mode, but it's a bit keyboardy

Dear god look at how detailed the cold spots in the stars are.
MASSIVE lag issues after the latest patch on my HD5770
Every time its creating meshes, textures or star nodes the game freezes until its done creating. so basically i can not move near planets or stars.
Anyone with an ATi card managed to get it to work fullscreen?
I cant get it to work fullscreen either.
My full screen works on my ATI card.
What card do you have TotalNoob1
Does anyone have a better mirror? The megaupload one is horribly slow for me.

I edited my post lol
I have a 3870x2
Both you and Totalnoob seem to be using Windows 7 and ATi cards. Maybe it has to do with DX11 or windows 7?
Have you made a thread on spaceengine's english site? en.spaceengine.org
[editline]11th June 2011[/editline]
Anyone else find the 'Selena' type planets generate very slowly? They slow my program to a crawl when I'm up close.

Just an ordinary desert moon in front of a huge nebula.
Nothing to see here.
