Also, WIN

I asked for that sometime last year, I don't remember the response.
Holy fuck, I remember thinking about how awesome it would be for the game to have a sky box feature.
My hammer maps won't have shitty default sky boxes anymore.
That height maps thing also sounds awesome for use in games that accept them.
Infinity team aims on first finishing engine (i heard they found some investor or companies interested in licenses) ...
then the game (Quest for Earth) ... originally was the game priority
while Space Engine is primary focusing on the engine itself ... and maybe later game(s)
What are your specs? Space Engine needs a fairly decent computer with a good GPU.
I'm using a 560 Ti, the graphics should not be a significant problem. My framerates are relatively good.

Athlon II X4 620 (2.6 GHz) - Not fantastic but all right.
Athlon II X4 620 (2.6 GHz) - Not fantastic but all right.
That should be good enough. It was running perfectly on my Q6600 at 2.4 to 3GHz and it's running great on my i5 right now. Maybe take it to the official forums? SpaceEngineer should be able to help.
We're not supposed to go into the middle of the galaxy, right?
you can if you want. It doesn't crash as often as it did in older versions. I visit there regularly.
I hope this turns into a little game much like Noctis IV
I haven't read this in a while, good to see it's still going!
Redownloading the game now.
This runs perfectly on my laptop with an i5 2410 and a GT 525.
So, my conclusion is that this game just sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. A result of it being in a stage of heavy development.
Hey is anyone else having trouble trying to access the site? I'm desperately trying to download 0.95.

Thanks for the link.
Is a higher or a lower LOD better?

I flew into a globular cluster.
I was looking around the Large Magellanic Cloud, about on the edges, and I found this beauty.

This desert's pretty hot, actually

I can't get good planet surfaces but still really pretty, even with the fires to my graphics card

Higher is better, it's recommended to use LOD 0 to fly around and then set to LOD 2 when taking screen shots.

Also, I haven't seen it posted here but there's some screenshots from the test version the dev's currently working on.
Guess what.

So this is the new infinity now it seems :v:
also just got it recently, hot damn I am amazed by the places where I can go to
I just love listening to this while my planets generate themselves

correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't black holes supposed to be small compared to stars?
because i just found one with a diameter of roughly 19AU.
sorry to bump this but.

glitched cold oceania with lyfe.
Just dropping by to say that the developer has begun even more work on 0.96.
In addition to procedural galaxies, redshift, spaceship support, some other small additions and bug fixes, terrain is also being improved.

Also, to the person above, that shadow bug happens when the engine deals with shadows from really far distances (ie a planet casting a shadow on another planet, or a binary star being hid by its companion star)
What settings have you got yours on to look so good?
Who? Me?
Yeh, I was just wondering because if I set mine on LOD 2 it takes ages to render the textures. Are you using that or LOD 0?

Ah ok, I know 0.96 isn't out yet I venture on the official forum once in a while.
I've got a HD 7850 OC'ed 1200/1475 and a 3570k, on LOD 0 it does load pretty quickly but when I try it at LOD 2 it still takes a good 20 - 30 seconds to load.

IMO that should only be used for taking screenshots. You seem to have a much better system than me (6950 800/1250, 2500k 4.5GHz)
