All of the planets I find are boring. The one I started near was just tundra, and all of the others are pretty much the same thing.
Too bad this game is still crashy as hell :C
Too bad this game is still crashy as hell :C
I have not had any problems, try messing with the video settings in in 'SpaceEngine 0.96\config\main.cfg' And check out the troubleshooting section http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/4 [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] So adding ship models is relatively easy if you have 3D Max or anything that can export a Model as .obj He has a guide, its only in Russian right now so you'll have to use a translator http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF8&twu=1&u=http://spaceengine.org/forum/19-201-1
My crashes disappeared after like 3 hours of playing, it did the same for someone else too. There's something odd here. Anyways, how the fuck did fly that thing, Tuskin? I always overshoot planets.
I just got back into this and my oceanica is now a terra with life with black rings. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] How do you get a ship?
How do I use this spaceship everyone is talking about and using? Googled but couldn't find anyting.
Control F3 opens the ship list. Numpad moves the ship, W is engine power, mouse wheel is acceleration, Z is full stop. If the ship has a Hyperdrive 'I' activates it. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] Some more images Epsilon Eridani b (a possibly real extrasolar planet, but as of now unconfirmed) [t]http://i.imgur.com/BP8b9.jpg[/t] These three are of 'Pandora' [t]http://i.imgur.com/zo81t.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/3MU1s.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/sNFaA.jpg[/t] On my way to Titan [t]http://i.imgur.com/rOZIp.jpg[/t] Saturn [t]http://i.imgur.com/ALVy6.jpg[/t] Orbiting Titan [t]http://i.imgur.com/DS0Yi.jpg[/t] Finding the ship I left there earlier, it was falling towards the planet at around 100 meters a second. So just found out my favorite planet is actually in the milky way now. Gonna start all my spaceships there. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] Any idea how I can get things to indefinitely orbit?
Can you dock ships? [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] And can you spawn them?
Can you dock ships? [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] And can you spawn them?
The ships are already set there at a star in the milky way, you can't spawn them. I think you can copy extras though.
I was getting a lot of crashes in 9.5, up intil I set the .exe to Large Address Aware, then my number of crashes dropped. You guys might try that and see if it fixes your crashing problems. Wish this guy would make a 64 bit version or something, I've got a whopping assload of RAM and almost all of it isn't being used.
Made a short vid, ignore the Jerkyness, I recorded it at 30FPS.
Is there a way to change a planets distance to its star (or a moon to its planet) as well as its climate in the editor?
Is there a way to change a planets distance to its star (or a moon to its planet) as well as its climate in the editor?
For orbits, yes. Why does 0.96 have no executable? How am I supposed to launch it? [editline]7th July 2012[/editline] Oh, Winrar was hiding but still working
I love the export cubemap feature. Now you can make panoramas and HDR scenes for movies/game maps easily. [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/32146097/PanoramaMoonorama.png[/thumb]
Yeah, very useful for creating skybox textures.. assuming you need space skybox textures.
This game needs a sort of 'Journal' or some sort of master server. There's enough in this thing that the entire population of earth could sit here playing it, and after 500 years, still not have explored, named, and logged each body, or even put a dent in it. having some sort of online Log, where people can name and upload coordinates of what they found would be kind of cool

Maybe throw in a "search database" feature to the Locations List so that you can see the cool and rare things others have found. The game's just so big...
Flew from Earth to Sirius and did a flyby of Sirius A [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/znbgf.jpg[/thumb] I really like the glow on the ship when really close to a star [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/FTnzJ.jpg[/thumb]
Numpad.
It's not really turning. I see the purple circles move around but the ship orientation stays the same always

Just remember that you're moving in a frictionless environment. Not sure if any of that helped, but there you go. Also how are you guys getting your ships to precise locations like Sol? Are you just moving the ships there in the editor or something?

Player would discover and name stars and planets, and then upload the changed universe file to add to an online log. It was really cool.

Is there really no way to rename places in this game whatsoever? Can't even find it in the editor.
Where the fuck do I find spaceships?
Where the fuck do I find spaceships?
I just said 3-4 posts above. Control+F3
Hope it'll allow custom starships eventually. Because if it ever does, I'm so re-making the Homeworld mothership.
I just said 3-4 posts above. Control+F3
Thanks.
