yay I got it working! :D Vertigo 1, you are cleared to proceed to Zeta Aquilae. I have a nVidia GTX460M and the cubed terrain used to appear with those settings on previous versions but now works fine for me.
Motherfucking Decent.
You spelled it wrong. No cookie for you.
Is there a way to change the screenshot file/quality?
In main.cfg find // screenshots and other settings and change away!
Where can one get some good star trek ship models? I'd like to give porting some a try.

[img_thumb]http://www.niggaupload.com/images/Sjwy.png[/img_thumb] Humm.
http://www.trekmeshes.ch/
Some of those models are really nice I'll see what I can do...might only get one or two ported. So any favorites?
[img_thumb]http://www.niggaupload.com/images/rNm6z.png[/img_thumb] Found a Terran Moon with rings and life around a gas giant. Real cold, only -95.15 C (-139.27 F). Anyone know a good way to get rid of banding lines on shadow gradients? Or is it an engine limitation? I've never had a weak body or stomach but this simulator just broke me. Going at super speeds giving you that Star Wars hyperspace effect and being in elevated areas in general makes me physically weak.
I would play with this program a lot more if it weren't crashing all the time...
Once again, try large address aware if you haven't already. Doesn't outright fix crashes, but may reduce their frequency.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UoWYc.jpg[/img_thumb] This game is cool...
Dem spinny planets
I still have no idea how to fly starships.
Any way to stop crashing?
Any way to stop crashing?

Once again, try large address aware if you haven't already. Doesn't outright fix crashes, but may reduce their frequency.
Worked wonders for me
I still have no idea how to fly starships.
Read the readme
Ctrl F3 ------------------------ togle spacecrafts list "Switch to" button, 4 ---------- take control on selected spacecraft "Teleport here" button -------- teleport spacecraft to current location W, Up --------- accelerate forward S, Down ------- accelerate back A, Left ------- accelerate left D, Right ------ accelerate right R, NUM1 ------- accelerate up F, NUM0 ------- accelerate down Q, NUM7 ------- rotate counter clockwise E, NUM9 ------- rotate clockwise NUM8 ---------- turn up NUM2 ---------- turn down NUM4 ---------- turn left NUM6 ---------- turn right NUM5, X ------- stop rotation Z ------------- synchronize velocity with the velocity of the nearest planet + ------------- increase thrust - ------------- decrease thrust Ctrl + -------- increase thrust to nearest standard value Ctrl - -------- decrease thrust to nearest standard value Wheel --------- change thrust or hyperacceleration factor Ctrl Wheel ---- change thrust [to nearest standard value - I forgot type this] Shift Wheel ---- zoom the camera from the ship O ------------------ toggle view of spacecraft's trajectory and planets orbits P ------------------ choose a referecnce body to showing relative trajectory End ---------------- view trajectory from afar I ------------------ on/off hyperdrive

Any way to stop crashing?
Software is still in early beta but have you tried any of these?
Grab the program called Large Address Aware and then browse to the Space Engine exe and apply it. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=34392&d=1269231650 After that go to the main.cfg file and change the video memory section to something like this // memory settings VideoMemorySize 2048 // video card onboard memory (VRAM) in megabytes VideoMemoryMaxPercent 90 // max VRAM consumption (percents) VideoMemoryStartupDetect false // use auto detection of VRAM size on startup, otherwise use VideoMemorySize value VideoMemoryDynamicDetect false // use auto detection of available amount of VRAM in runtime GalaxySysModelCacheSize 5 // do not change this! ClusterStarModelCacheSize 200 // do not change this! If you are on Nvidia it will run much smoother and crash far less often, if you are on ATI it will run smoother and crash less often but near planets with a designated texture or bump set(like Earth/Mars/Moon/etc) will stutter a bit. Stutters are still better than crashing. Forgot to say don't do this if you have a weak system and under 4GBs of RAM or a weak GPU, it won't end well.
Also add +fullproc to the end of the shortcut.
How exactly do you view surfaces properly? I just move into planets and usually get a matte texture.
Didn't do anything for me :v:
This is silly I can't see any surfaces.
How exactly do you view surfaces properly? I just move into planets and usually get a matte texture.
I hit shift-g and use 1 and 0 to get to a decent elevation, and fly around. Check your LOD settings. Also only procedurally generated planets have real terrain, so far as I know.
EVE online ship pack mod released http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-752-1
Finally I'm done. I've converted 59 of EVE Online's ships for use in Space Engine. Those are most of the ships from EVE Online, I've converted everything that is larger than a frigate (except for a few ugly destroyers and freighters). Ship list: Amarr ships: Abaddon Aeon Arbitrator Archon Armageddon Augoror Avatar Coercer Harbinger Maller Omen Oracle Prophecy Revelation Caldari ships: Blackbird Caracal Charon Cormorant Drake Ferox Moa Naga Osprey Phoenix Raven Rokh Scorpion Chimera Leviathan Wyvern Gallente ships: Brutix Celestis Dominix Erebus Exequror Hyperion Megathron Moros Myrmidon Nyx Talos Thanots Thorax Vexor Minmatar ships: Bellicose Cyclone Hel Hurricane Maelstrom Naglfar Nidhoggru Ragnarok Rupture Scythe Stabber Tempest Thrasher Tornado Typhoon Screens: [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/2846681.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/2682843.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/8622062.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/1517129.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/7842057.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/2931288.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://spaceengine.ucoz.ru/_fr/7/1383966.jpg[/thumb] Instructions: Jsut copy the "data" folder from this archive to you main space engine folder. !!!NOTE!!! If you have my Mass Effect ship pack MOD installed, after you copy over the "data" folder, extract the "MEspacecrafts.sc" file from this archive, rename it to "spacecrafts.sc" (simply remove the ME from the beggining of the file name) and copy it over to "data\models\spacecrafts" folder. Now you will have both ship packs installed. If you don't have my Mass Effect ship pack MOD, you need only to copy over the "data" folder and nothing else. You can download the Mass Effect ship pack MOD at: http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-728-3 !!!WARNING!!! Due to a certain problem, the norm and spec textures do not work well with these models in Space Engine, thus they were not included, and as a result, the effects of sun shine and reflection on the ships and the "3d feel" of the textures is absent from this mod.
