All of my planets render flat with horrible textures. What did I do wrong?
Going around the universe listening to "I'm Proud of You" from Mass Effect 3's soundtrack. Anyone know of some good spots/searches? I'd love to find some easter eggs. I'm at Pandora at the moment because someone said there was that.
There's these 2 planets in a star near our sun called Bloop (and Bloopy, the moon), they're both Terra with life I think, probably some kind of testing system used by Space Engineer, and main planet has this huge cyclone cloud that looks amazing when seen from under it and from above: [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44918480/SpaceEngine/scr00245.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44918480/SpaceEngine/scr00246.jpg[/img_thumb] EDIT: Desert and Terra planets close to a Gas Giant make awesome pictures [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44918480/SpaceEngine/scr00230.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44918480/SpaceEngine/scr00262.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44918480/SpaceEngine/scr00276.jpg[/img_thumb]
Favorite songs to play while exploring the universe: Makes me depressed that the ME series started off so strong and then, along with bioware, declined after the 1st one. This game has the potential to be the largest and best space game to date. I hope the dev knows what hes doing.

I have the graphics on the highest settings and it still looks nothing close to this. My planet textures look horrible and the environment is rather flat on all f them.
What is your graphics card.
Set your LOD to 1

Daym. An Oceania planet which is covered all around in 63km deep water. Deepest I've found so far.
Daym. An Oceania planet which is covered all around in 63km deep water. Deepest I've found so far.
How do you figure the depth?
How do you figure the depth?
Turn on 3D water in the options and then land on the planet, then fly to the ocean's surface and check the height in the top left. [editline]15th July 2012[/editline] Temperate terra with life. Average surface temperature is 287 kelvin aka 14 C, which is exactly the same as Earth's. It's a close match, except for the atmosphere and size. Only 0.11atm, and it's 1.5x the size of Earth. I'm stuck on this mac for another month, at least, and I'm fucking dying to play this. TORTURE. Someone should make a video :v:
can you export that planet? I'd like to have it
One thing I don't like is the spaceship controls. They are so awkward and not fluid.
I love how this game inspires a deep-seated feel of unease in people
can you export that planet? he needs to add comets ... like dev build of Celestia ... with tails calculated properly by star wind, including from multiple stars etc ...

It's supposed to be random scenes of what you find in space engine, while trying to convey the scale. But like you I used MovieMaker so it ended up looking fucking retarded
I love how this game inspires a deep-seated feel of unease in people
I feel a considerable amount of unpleasantness when travelling through the galaxy at high speeds. I can't really explain why. I think it might be connected to feeling "lost" and meaningless somehow.
I feel a considerable amount of unpleasantness when travelling through the galaxy at high speeds. I can't really explain why. I think it might be connected to feeling "lost" and meaningless somehow.
I almost shit myself when I accidentally zoomed out into total darkness when travelling at Gpc/s speeds (and couldn't get back to the visible universe afterwards). That one's pretty easy to explain though, it's just the fear that goes with sudden sensory deprivation. I have experienced the feeling you're talking about too.
Imagine an RPG where you start off as a poor guy with a small ship. Trading, fighting in wars, mercenary action, piracy, etc... you get rich.
http://pioneerspacesim.net/ It's not exactly the same thing, but it's close. Not as good as Space Engine with graphics though.
So I just updated this and when I get close to some planets and such, this happens:http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/545/scr00006a.jpg/ Any idea why?
No idea, try closing Space Engine, delete the cache folder and run it again.
Gaah. When ever i try to land on a procedural planet. I crash. I followed all the correct instructions and IT STILL HAPPENS
I like my CPU non-melted, thank you.
But the comet will keep it cool! :v:
Audio quality could be better, but it's a bitch to find decent quality without having to pay for it. 720p for a reason!
You didn't just install 0.96 over 0.95 did you?
I guess I should make a clean install?
I guess I should make a clean install?
Yes, you're not suppose to overwrite
