I found a 'Namek' like planet. For those who don't know, Namek is the home planet of Piccolo from the Dragon Ball series. http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Namek
4th Planet around the star HD 223754

Wow it looks like a psychedelic dream.
I keep getting a runtime error and CTD after about 10 mins of playing this. How fix.
I've remade Reach again for the 3rd or 4th time

So I figured out planets with life tend to be a lot more interesting than other planets.

(Unfortunately I didn't know you can change the surface LOD before I took this pic. Oh well.)
And here I found an amazing planet with a desert moon. The planet had life, but unfortunately Space Engine crashed when I tried to land on it. :( Should've lowered surface LOD to -2 until I got on the surface, then put it back to 2 for the screenshots.

The clouds on the moon were a thin layer of sand. It looks amazing.
Found some weird-ass tidally locked planet with continents.

Atomicman over in the Halo Model Porting thread kindly ported the texture for Reach and I put it in Space Engine

Found evidence that aliens build giant railroads or something.

Yes, and if you use Radeon graphics, they also build rows of giant triangular spike-shaped towers (to be fair, it's been diminished in the last couple of updates).

Wait you mean that's a glitch?

Also, those "roads" exist in our solar system too. Look at Triton:

They're like those cracks you see on pavement right?
Caused by low temperature which results in the pavement expanding and causing cracks, like ice.
They're really common on ice planets.
Me stating the obvious.
So I found a nice mountaintop view.

Are you a beta-tester?
Edit: Awesome gallery! I like your galaxy dust sprites!

Checked the image source and its from the same guy's album who did the star trek ships.

If you check his album from here

Looks like he is a beta tester.
EDIT: fixed the link
EDIT 2: the orginal link was wrong, nor are any of the images you see mine. please disregard the album and ignore it, for my sake lol

1. I said ignore
2. You can get that in 0.96

Bit hard to ignore since you posted it and some of those images are quite interesting. This looks like fixed gas giants and brown dwarfs?

This has gotten me quite excited for 97.
Yup. That gas giant looks quite gassy and gianty. More-so than the current ones.

Well, I guess my troll skills have failed.
I've always had a thing for planets that orbit close to gas giants.

A video and some pics.
I originally shot it at 48fps and encoded it at 48fps, but Youtube seems to think 30fps is all anyone needs. Motion blur doesn't help much with the choppiness at 30fps.

I recommend watching it with a frame-interpolator like SVP + SVPTube or something.

Ew, frame-interpolation is propably the ugliest god damn thing ever.
Ew, frame-interpolation is propably the ugliest god damn thing ever.
You probably haven't seen SVP, then. Or any well made interpolator for that matter.
this has probably been asked a bafuckazillion times already, but here goes:
can you destroy planets in this in any way?

No, that would take too much processing power. There's Universe Sandbox for crashing shit together and other physics-y stuff.
You probably haven't seen SVP, then. Or any well made interpolator for that matter.
True 48 fps and Interpolation are two completely different things, and frame interpolation IS fucking ugly, ghost frames, loads of artifacting and it's way too fluid, nothing wrong with true 48 fps, but interpolation just creates that awful uncanny feeling.
I never said they were the same thing. 48FPS is definitely a lot better than interpolated 48FPS, but I'd take interpolated 48fps/60fps/120fps over <30fps any day. I've never had ghost frames and there's barely any artifacting with SVP (provided you use the right settings and your system can handle it).

Ghost frames will always be there, the ghost frames are exactly what makes it "48 fps".
And those ghost frames are ugly as shit.
But I don't care. This thread is not a debate thread, and I fucking hate debate threads.
