Volunteers Needed for Psychology Study into Internet Behaviour

Filling out both.
I love questionnaires. :v:
I did it but it was fucking long.
Sure, i'm in.
Not for the money, just bored.
Did both. :)
unfortunately, the results will be extremely biased, since you're getting a ton of volunteers from one place and only certain people will be inclined to finish the questionnaire anyway.
Oh I know, I'm going to try and get a spread of people, so these lot are good for one side of it, and then I'm going to pester all of my technophobe family and stuff to fill it in, to get the other side of the coin
Thanks btw to everyone who has filled them in so far
I took both of your surveys.
I'm planning on being a Psych major when I get to college, do you have any advice from your experience that might help me along the way? Would a Psych/Chem major/minor be a plausible idea?
Thanks.
I took the first one, I would take the second but I don't have the time at the moment :)

My sis has a masters in this
Done both, I guess it doesn't hurt to participate.
You should go to 4chan- more sociopaths than you can shake a lobotomy at.
Do we get to see the results?
Alrighty, you've got my contribution, although my answers aren't particularly interesting I'm afraid. I think I come across as a relatively flame-less male adolescent, but I'm probably biased (check through my previous posts if you so wish).
Although I've never studied it myself (unfortunately) I find psychology hugely interesting. It's a science still in its infancy, much like maths was once. Who knows, maybe you'll be the next Hari Seldon and invent psycho-history.
Would it be possible for you to publish the results? I'd be interested to see what comes out.
Because I assure you, if somone I knew visited these forums I wouldn't post the way I do.
Some of my friends do visit this forum, but only one friend actually posts very much. I did have to think about the sorts of stuff I was saying when he joined, but I don't think I've changed all that much.

No, it wasn't. That survey took ten minutes, tops.

I shouldn't see why not although it depends on which college/uni you go to
There is a lot of stats and biology involved with psychology, as long as that part of it doesn't bore you (I love that bit) then go for it I'd say, it's a fascinating subject
Filled out both. I hope you do well on your project!

that's good, but keep in mind that this coin doesn't just have 2 sides.
Filled out the internet one.
Did it. Hope yer study goes well!
Thanks now I got viruses on my computer. :S
bump for optimism
-snip-
Filling it out now.
I don't talk about all of my problems/personality to the internet so most of my answers were "general" and I feel as if that's not really accurate.
"If I feel attractive to the opposite sex"
Ding ding ding! You've written a heteronormatively biased study. Try actually reading about how to write a good survey next time.
Also, a big flaw in your study is the variance of sites. So, for example, I'll talk about different things on Facepunch (a site composed of people I've never met) to what I'd talk about on Facebook (a site comprising of people I see every day). In some cases I might tell people loads about one aspect of me, but in others I wouldn't. Rectify this before continuing.

I already said I didn't write the questions! The ones about self disclosure were from an approved study about self disclosure that was written quite some years back and yes I agree with you that it should say "to the gender I feel attracted sexually to" or something like that but there we go, that's just how the questions go.
I did read about how to conduct a good survey, and got guidance from my supervisor Dr C who has a doctorate in psychology and lectures about conducting research of this sort! There are many flaws however, to lots of studies both undergraduate and professional ones, and I'm thankful you pointed this out (even if in a slightly pompous way) because we have to assess our own methodology at the end in the conclusions and discussion, no study is going to be "perfect" and I shall certainly be critiquing my own use of questions, only because there are no current/up to date and published self-disclosure scales that relate to the Internet.
Anyway thank you all to everyone who has filled in so far, I've overshot and had loads of the online one filled in, more than needed (but had to delete a fair few that were obviously being jokers.. some responses did make me laugh!)
Bumping for offline questionnaire to reach similar response levels
Done, answered truthfully.
Took it.
