That engine whatever BioWare used on Mass Effect 2.
Unreal engine 3.
I like the Unreal Engine 3 because it is so easy to use unlike other engines that tend to work against you.
Cryengine 3 oh wait, that's physics isn't it? RAGE isn't bad.
Cryengine 3 is a game engine that (as far as I know) includes a physics engine in it. But it's a completely valid answer.
Source Cryengine Unreal Engine 3
no you said sauce, not source sauce like mayonaise sauce
And obviously sauce is the best engine there is.
RAGE engine. Have you seen Red Dead Redemption? Not to mention how damned GOOD it looks?
JMonkeyEngine
The RuneScape engine.
Unity
The one Super Mario World runs on.
I'm a bit surprised that Source is even mentioned (or well, I shouldnt really). Have you been trying to make something on the Source engine? The pipeline for artists are probably the worst I've seen in many years, especially on an engine that was suppose to be modders dream. If I was developing a game today, Source would not be anywhere near the top of the list. Most of the companies today make their prototypes with UDK due to the speedy development environment. There are many cool games on source, but as an engine to work in, I wouldnt touch it again.

For now, IMHO, CryEngine 2. - Well optimized. - Nothing is 'baked', everything is done in real time. - Inverse kinematics are pretty well. - Mod friendly. (has an interface in-game to choose mods) - VERY user friendly sandbox editor. - Awesome audio engine. They sound really good and I always play at full blast, especially the last level in Crysis.
The engine that Big Rigs runs on. Amazing graphics and physics.
Source, then Unreal Engine
Probably UE3, since it has a very powerful and user-friendly SDK, while still being technologically top-notch. Of course some engines have better graphics, others have superior physics, etc. But as a whole, UE3 it's definitely somewhere in the top. CryEngine 3 is also looking very good so far, and much more flexible than CE2 in terms of what kinds of games you can make on it.
EUPHORIA IS NOT A GAME OR A PHYSICS ENGINE It's a dynamic motion synthesis engine, which when combined with a physics engine such as havok actually gives ragdolls life so to say stop with the fucking bullshit already, it's been so long and you still can't get it right
CryENGINE 3, Outerra.
Jurassic Park: Trespasser engine.
I would say source but it's about as optimized as a sack of hammers. Unreal Engine 3.
It's pretty incredibly optimized
Cryengine 2 until 3 comes. I can still start Crysis now and it looks better than anything on the market, and the modability is great too.
I think the best engine is on Porsche.
CryEngine 2/3 all the way. I like Source too but it is really out-dated nowadays.
Unity 3.
-snip- [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] it is very old but Source 2010/2011 should be on par with current games
If they want to be on par, they need to add DX10/11 support.
RAGE [sp]Rockstar Advanced Game Engine[/sp]
I like Frostbite alot.
The Quake II engine.

The complete lack of documentation, the need to use sigscanning to make server plugins and the extremely outdated map editor are some of the things that make it a horrible engine to work with.
