Doom engine. I know it's old but it's extremely moddable and that's what I like about it. Well, if you play a source port that is.
I like RAGE. How did I forget the lighting for Mirrors Edge: [img_thumb]http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/887/887721/mirrors-edge-20080709084725162_640w.jpg[/img_thumb] Then again... [img_thumb]http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/attachments/f22/465d1173784194-cryengine-crysis-vs-real-life-shots-comp02.jpg[/img_thumb] That's Cryengine 3, by the way.
Lighting in ME is done by BEAST lighting engine.
XRay Engine, since it supports a VERY wide range of hardware.
I would agree on source -snip- agree with above post

The PS1 Engine
The PS1 Engine
Not really
Frostbite. The BC2 Engine.
I just have to say Source. Outdated as it is, it still manages to deliver top notch games and provide an insane amount of modularity for modifications. Plus, you know VALVe is going to update it something fierce for HL2:EP3.
Cryengine 2. WAAAAAAY better than 3.
How? And that Quantumas thing. It's amazing. Too bad game devs will probably look over it or something when it gets released.
id Tech 1
:respek:
I like the Blender Engine most
Source² The portal 2 engine. [editline]17th November 2010[/editline] So beautiful.
You know, Source 2009 engine features 'goopy' particles, just like the paint particles in Portal 2. I can't wait :neckbeard:
Digital Molecular Matter may not be an engine but i think it is worth a mention purely because of the possible future applications
Digital Molecular Matter may not be an engine but i think it is worth a mention purely because of the possible future applications
The best and possibly only destruction engine. More, a lot more games need to use it.
I like the minecraft engine, not for its amazing water physics and gravity but for its sand box like abilites. How many games allow you to make a computer inside of them?
Quite a few actually. And even more so if you have access to an editor.
Unreal engine 2&3 Source Id tech 4
infinity: quest for earth engine. shit's tight.
Unreal ever game runs on it.
I like the Blender Engine most [img_thumb]http://i54.tinypic.com/287dwi.jpg[/img_thumb]
While I see what you did there, the blender engine is rather bad and only works if you want to mess around.
But it's not really a game engine. It's a physics engine. Edit: Euphoria that is.
Also wrong, it's an animation engine that can be used in conjunction with a physics engine for realistic character reactions. Probably late as fuck on that response but v:v:v [editline]8:06PM[/editline] On topic: I love the Unreal Engine for its versatility, the Source engine for its compatibility, and the Cryengine for its stunning visuals.
Havok?
For old FPS, the build engine. For newer games, the havok engine.
For old FPS, the build engine. For newer games, the havok engine.

For newer games, the havok engine.

the havok engine.
Thanks for the aneurysm
Havok?
That's physics, not a game engine.
