That isn't exactly true. It isn't full functional. It looks like one but doesn't function identically to one. There's still many things that surgery can't solve such as giving someone a working reproductive system from their preferred gender.
And that's terrible. Or wonderful, depending on your point of view.
And that's terrible. Or wonderful, depending on your point of view.
its wonderful because A) you don't need to worry about getting pregnant B) no periods
its wonderful because A) you don't need to worry about getting pregnant B) no periods
its not wonderful because A) You can never give birth to a child B) you will never be able to experience this part of being a woman [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] I don't know about you people but I honestly have spent time crying over never being able to give birth to a child and when my friends talk about how they hate their periods I am so envy of them.
its not wonderful because A) You can never give birth to a child B) you will never be able to experience this part of being a woman
I'm sure many women would tell you that B isn't something you should desire, being part of a woman or not. I for one can tell you it's not fun... BUT the same idea could apply to other things: I seem to be the only guy I know that longs to shave often... everyone keeps telling me it's not fun and I'd soon get tired of it... I can't help but disagree... whether it's fun or not... I want to dammit! haha xD
you do NOT want to feel a period
I am pretty damn sure I know what I want. I never said that I was going to enjoy it, don't get me wrong. I have suffered from unimaginable pain over long periods of time, there is no way to compare for me but I personally think it would feel the same. Some people even say passing a kidney stone hurts more than giving birth.
It's not even painful in a lot of cases. It's just annoying. I understand (to an extent of course, I'm not trans so yeah I wouldn't know) the whole part of wanting to feel more like the gender you feel you should physically be, but periods really seem like one of those things you think you want then if/when you get them it's like wow NOPE. I was like that when I was little so about that I do know. I was like "Oh boy I can't wait until I hit puberty and get periods and stuff then I'll be like a proper woman and stuff!" and once it actually starts happening you realise it's just an annoyance. It's not like shaving your legs or something as TimeLord mentioned above, as you have NO choice in the matter (That and unfortunately periods last longer than a few shaving sessions :c) You can skip periods every now and then if you're on the pill but obviously you can't stop them forever (Or at least it's not recommended as it'd get quite unhealthy over time) I do get where you're coming from on the subject of not being able to birth a child though, I can only imagine how that would feel if you wanted kids. Tbh I'd rather just get a dog or something so science should discover some way I can give my ability to birth children to people who want/need it or something >:V Edit: But hey if you can actually have periods and not be sick of them after a year or two, more power to you :v: They do get less annoying over time but imo are just a general annoyance, but yeah, obviously they gotta happen
you do NOT want to feel a period
Don't speak such blanket statements, comrade.
Don't speak such blanket statements, comrade.
they're different for some people i guess but periods aren't the best thing ever.
Don't speak such blanket statements, comrade.
Yeah they're kind of a weird thing to explain, too. So many guys at my old school were like "DO PERIODS HURT? WHAT DO THEY FEEL LIKE?" etc etc randomly one day and it's kinda odd :v: I do feel sorry for people who get bad cramps during that time though. It's annoying enough as it is without having to put up with physical pain, too.
Long time lurker with a question. ♥ Basically I need to get a haircut for work, could I state that I'm trans and would they legally be bound to let me keep it?
As far as I know, in most countries, yes they would. Also why is your avatar of that picture of Funion or whoever it is from LMAO pics who rainbows everywhere o3o Edit: God damnit LOL
;36510983'] I do feel sorry for people who get bad cramps during that time though. It's annoying enough as it is without having to put up with physical pain, too.
the cramps :suicide:
Depends, Hustle. Depending on where you live and the type of people you're working with, you could get flat out fired for telling them you're trans.
the cramps :suicide:
If it's really bad you can get prescribed the pill for it. They regulate periods/make them lighter etc in a lot of cases. Unless you've already been through that and it still doesn't work :c [editline]27th June 2012[/editline]
Depends, Hustle. I could be wrong though.
i haven't tried the pill but i'll get ahold of my doctor and see what he can do about it
I used to get REALLY bad cramps but yeah the pill fixed everything up fine. They also apparently help "heavy" periods stop being so heavy and more regulated but I'm not sure first hand.
;36511030'] In a lot of countries isn't it illegal to fire people for things like that? I could be wrong though.
I'm not sure on the specifics of where or where not it's legal to get fired for sexuality/gender identity/etc., but I know for a fact it still happens, if just a little less common.
;36511030']In a lot of countries isn't it illegal to fire people for things like that? I could be wrong though.
Doesn't always stop them.
I'm not sure on the specifics of where or where not it's legal to get fired for sexuality/gender identity/etc., but I know for a fact it still happens, if just a little less common.
i think they can do it in the united states
I'm not sure on the specifics of where or where not it's legal to get fired for sexuality/gender identity/etc., but I know for a fact it still happens, if just a little less common.
You could possibly take them to court but sadly in most cases it just isn't worth it
;36511030']In a lot of countries isn't it illegal to fire people for things like that? I could be wrong though.
In the US there's still various ways around it to a point. For example most employment contracts here specifically state that employment will continue as long as both sides wish for it to. So in many cases they could just lay you off for it. Firing though I don't think they could get away with without having to put forth some bullshit (or even partly valid) excuse that has nothing to do with you being trans.
Doesn't always stop them.
Yeah, unfortunately
periods are neat
periods are neat
If I had money to spend atm I'd change your title to Period Edit: Don't disagree YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M CAPABLE OF
;36511215']If I had money to spend atm I'd change your title to Period
noooooo if you did that i would disown you >:C i like my title, bakelite is neater than periods (also click the title)
;36511295']I was expecting nipples.
nipples look like periods it's a conspiracy
