Also, I go to visit my parents and other family every couple of weeks. How many more months can I hide the fact that I'm taking hormones? No one has noticed yet, since it's only been 2 months.

Are you sure that you are transgender? You shouldn't be thinking yourself as a male.
Are you sure that's an okay question to be asking? Not everyone feels the same about trans issues. Some people refer to themselves as male out of habit and such and to some people just looking like a woman is not good enough. Doesn't mean they're not trans. Just means they're not the same as most trans people.

Anyone can ask me anything they like. It's really hard to offend me. I don't mind any questions or being called tranny etc.

I've been hiding it for 8 months now. Last time I visited my parents, they didn't notice a thing. I had to "man up" a little, though, which I hate.

Not saying it's a good thing to hide it, but if you have to, you have to.

Why do you have to man up around your parents? Do they get mad if you don't have a beard, shaved head, and are very aggressive etc?

Heh, well it's not that bad. I've explained this before, but my post is probably hidden somewhere deep in the thread.
I have pretty religious muslim parents, an just acting a little bit "effeminate" is "wrong". My dad has yelled at me for...
• Brushing my hair out of my eyes
• My hair in general
• The way I walk (I don't even try to walk in a more feminine manner around them)
• My jeans (that my mother got, might I add) being too tight
• Having "too much of a sense of fashion"
• The way I sit
• The way I EAT or hold my fork
• The way my hand rests on my face when I'm watching something
The list goes on and on. So yeah, I DO have to man up in case they suspect something.
Do you depend on your parents for support?
Cause if not then I think you should try and let them know, and try have them accept you for who you really are.
I do, in a way. It's really really complicated between us, and right now, I'd rather not risk it.
I'm very sure they would disown me, or worse, if they found out, and I can't risk that unless I get citizenship here or in Canada or something. If not, I'd probably have to seek asylum somewhere...

Raccoons are cute but they're evil as hell, same as badgers.
You can stay here too Zia, I'd let you have my bed and I'd sleep on the floor and we could be best girlfriends :3
(Though In all seriousness if you needed a place to stay I could probably convince my Mom to let you stay with us c:, we have a big-ish house for 3 people, I got your back c:)

I've been getting really good at doing a more girly voice, which is kind of unnecessary since i've never even been a girl in public but it's still nice. =)

Once you can master doing a head voice rather than a chest voice it's really easy.

It's really hard to explain and I'm not even sure how I do it, it's really just all about practice, just spend lots of time practicing and speaking in a more feminine voice.
[editline]30th June 2012[/editline]
I'm not really sure how to properly embed a soundcloud recording but here I am showing off my voice. =)

You need a way to listen to feedback as well. Otherwise you may go off on a tangent that sounds nothing like the voice you want.

I've posted this one in this thread a few times. It's always helpful.
Sorry if this question was answered sometime throughout this thread, but what do you girls think is a good age-range to like take hormones or something? I heard rumours about certain ages being "too late."
15-17 iirc
