I've honestly never heard someone use "genderqueer" to describe someone before. But saying someone is transgendered seems perfectly fine to me.
I'm perfectly fine with 'transgender', it doesn't sound odd to me at all.
'Tranny' on the other hand..
Genderqueer isn't being transgender, it's not identifying as either gender, or both. I don't know why you'd think transgender is disgusting, it's about as politically correct as you can get and it describes the person perfectly.
Genderqueer isn't being transgender, it's not identifying as either gender, or both.
Someone who is genderqueer is transgender. They identify as something other than the gender they were assigned at birth, that makes them transgender.
jus' incase no one in here knows, "tranny" is generally a slur, akin to chink, nigger, etc also tumblr p.much borks my images and makes them look like shit so here's a bad pic of me like 3 weeks into hormones yo
Idk what this makes me, but I really think the words transgender and genderqueer are disgusting, I mean the people themselves are cool but I hate the words that are used to describe them
I don't like transsexual, and genderqueer I'm on the fence about, being called queer pejoratively a good amount of times, though it's hard to find a better term for. Transgender is what I'm more cool with, since it's more of a focus on gender as opposed to sex. I usually say trans though, much more catch-all and inoffensive. Tranny or trap, or drag queen, are terms i find kinda shitty though
Tranny or trap, or drag queen, are terms i find kinda shitty though
All three of those terms are specific to certain people rather than transgender people in general. (And I'm pretty sure drag queens aren't even transgender in the first place. They're just crossdressers who are very obviously men and go out in public as such.)

Well. One thing's for certain now. 14H skinny jeans are a pain to put on. Time to lose weight. [editline]16th March 2012[/editline] But they do eventually go on.
God yes. I want a neck like that. And hair like that. Fuck, I need to learn how to do my hair better. I just straighten it now, I have to learn how to style it.
I want mine like my sister Aliyah's. She has it cut a certain way and straightened. I just love it.
Not a fan of the hair, but that is a nice neck :vampire:

I've seen people call trans women drag queens as a way to belittle them. I think drag is cool and ballsy :v: And trap, I find, is basically calling someone a tranny, but a sexually attractive one so it's okay. kinda mixing objectification of women with transphobia, but that may just be me being overthinking about the connotations that trans women want to deceive or fool cis men that label holds. definitely not the worst offender though
guys do you not know what transgender means transgender is anyone who isn't under the "Gender Binary" here's a good pic to explain everyone that falls under the term Transgender Transsexual is someone who is either MtF or FtM, nothing else in the above image also calling a transsexual person, esp. MtF a trap is to call them a " passing crossdresser who's job is to trick people into sex with their own sex" or w/e so that's really really offensive, and tranny is a slur and shit another word for genderqueer is genderfluid or nogender [editline]16th March 2012[/editline]
Wow..... So how long did it take you to grow your hair? Mine hasn't changed at all.
like a year and a half and i still want it longer
like a year and a half and i still want it longer
welp... *chop chop* I'm gonna try to see how my sister did her's. It's a bit shorter than mine and it looks great.
<3
That picture honestly gives me hope. [editline]17th March 2012[/editline] On a side note I'm still seeing my old profile picture and I changed it a few days ago. Is it still of the band oasis? [editline]17th March 2012[/editline] Ah clearing my cache fixed the issue.
Just had a wonderful time with my boyfriend. Too bad he had to leave. He might stay over tomorrow though. c:
Good afternoon thread!
'Ello.
Love you people, have a picture.
Typically how long is the process from telling your doctor you are trans to starting hormones? I don't think i'll have any complications regarding mental or physical health and I'm at an emotionally stable time in my life. I live in BC if that helps answer my question.
I think you have to live cross gender full time for a year or 2 before you're eligible for hormones, usually. It might vary province to province though. trying to figure out the specifics for my province actually.

Living cross gender for a full year without hormones sounds like it would be an awful experience.
Really? I thought that was only for getting surgery. And the amount of time it will take you to get a prescription is going to vary from specialist to specialist. There is no set amount of time.
Shitty quality, soz :V
Really? I thought that was only for getting surgery. I suppose it's a precautionary measure or something. then again I've had trouble finding anything really conclusive on it.
