Piercings make me want to be sick Sorry but I can't stand them.
I really have no opinion on them. I think you can make them look good though.
So I attended a 12-18 LGBT drop in meeting at a cafe today. Was pretty fun, got to meet some new people. The transgender population at their rec center is small but apparently I'm the youngest so it should be interesting when I go there next time.
Piercings make me want to be sick Sorry but I can't stand them.
you people are weird anyway atm i have to change them and im waiting for new ones i ordered to arrive cause atm the ones i have are a bit too big i think piercings are cute and sexy and adorable and cool and everything positive like magic and unicorns

Do you know what dosages to start out with and everything? Seriously, don't overdo it. And see if you can get your blood checked soon, because if your potassium levels are off, Spiro can do serious damage so get that checked before you start. It shouldn't even take a day. And I know that some places online sell hormone testing kits as well, which should be done every three months, at least.
i know the dosages (atleast i think i do) what i have been asking around anyway im gonna start low and be safe etc
Well, let me know if you have any trouble with figuring out what you should do next. For the record, most people start with 50mg Spiro twice a day, and 2mg Estradiol twice a day. And don't increase the dosages of anything unless you see that your hormones aren't in the female level. Sorry if I'm being nanny-ish. My FtM friend nearly killed himself with T not too long ago.
I understand the worrying. I'm planning on doing this: Take 1 mg estro once a day for 2 weeks. then 1 mg twice daily for 2 weeks, and then 2 mg twice daily. Take 50 mg spiro twice daily. After 2 weeks, double it.
That's not really a good idea. Going too low with the estrogen can also be harmful. Just go with 2mg twice daily. And don't increase the Spiro dosage unless a hormone test shows your testosterone levels to be outside of female range. A lot of people stick with 50 mg twice a day pretty much until they have a surgery like an orchiectomy or a vaginoplasty.
Really? I have been getting the impression I should start slow to make sure my body can handle the build up. D:

S.O.S. You lovelies. I'm part of an LGBTQ outreach/advocacy network and we teach workshops and stuff! Can anybody help explain the process of transitioning by the use of hormones? For example, first you see your general doctor, then get referred to blah blah. Help would be much much much appreciated! Also, would love an account from all genders, FtM, MtF, and all the others

See therapist (if therapist you are seeing is already a GID specialist, skip this step) 2. Get referred by said therapist to a therapist specialized in GID 3. Get referred to endocrinologist by GID therapist 4. Get prescribed hormones by endocrinologist 5. ??????? 6. Prof(t)its
about how long does it take?
It's different for everyone, but generally around 1-1.5 years, there's been enough changes to pass completely. [editline]17th August 2012[/editline] this is purely based off of what ive read from users in this thread and online, im still on step 2 [editline]17th August 2012[/editline] i should probably add in that you don't stop taking hormones, its a daily thing for p. much the rest of your life AFAIK
Therapists generally wait three months to decide on whether or not to give a patient a letter of recommendation to an endocrinologist. And in many areas, people are kept from reaching any sort of hormone therapy until they're 18. This process works the same for both trans women and trans men. Sexual reassignment surgery requires a year of "real-life experience" in the US, which means that, before you have the surgery, you have to live in the desired role for at least a year.
I should be getting HRT in september. It's generally easier to get HRT when you're out of the house, but it's most effective when you're younger.
Man it's another of those sad nights again. Can't sleep, I suppose I'll just bear through it.
Man it's another of those sad nights again. Can't sleep, I suppose I'll just bear through it.
I get those, slap on a movie in your room (something light hearted like Naked Gun or something) and just relax.
Man it's another of those sad nights again. Can't sleep, I suppose I'll just bear through it.
Whenever that happens to me, I think of incredibly silly things. It usually gets me to smile. [sp]Also, hey. I don't know if anyone here remembers me, but I used to lurk quite a bit.[/sp]
Been kinda discouraged lately. I came down to my mom's house for a Doctor's appointment. Then I was going to get my hair straightened. I was going to get a Brazilian Blowout. Well, apparently I was allergic to a certain chemical or something because my scalp started to itch and burn. Scalp became red and blotchy. I'm going to try to get a perm today.
It's a bad picture, but: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/f2Mna.png[/img_thumb] brb, gonna OD on estrogen.
