Even if she's right, the estrogen/testosterone isn't for physical appearance. It's required by your brain. Your brain was washed with estrogen/testosterone in the womb and now it can't properly function without it. The dysphoria transsexual people feel isn't actually psychological--it's the physiological result to your brain not being able to properly utilize neurotransmitters because you're missing your sex-specific mood hormones.
Even if the HRT doesn't change your body at all, it will do wonders for your depression.
(And it will anyway. She's wrong. It helps A LOT. I've had friends that have gone from completely male-looking to completely female-looking without surgery just from HRT)
I dunno about that, I'm still pretty depressed after 5 months. These past few days more so.
I don't really get the whole crossdressing / transgender thing, but i'm cool with people doing it; it's their choice, they can do what they like if it doesn't harm others. Just wondering, what made you guys crossdress / change genders? Was it like a thing you always felt or did something happen one day that made you realise or something?
Also, sorry if it's obvious, but what's this HRT you guys are talking about?
I don't think it's really a matter of "changing" genders. At least, not in my case. My entire life I've felt fairly gender-queer. As in, I didn't really see myself as male or female, I just saw myself as me. As I got older, I started to become more self aware of it. When I hit around 16 years old, I really started to examine my life. Explored my sexuality, and eventually questioned my gender identity. I don't view myself as a male who wants to be a female, I see myself as a female. It's not a matter of feeling like I want to change gender, it's a matter of wanting to be recognized as the gender I feel I am. Cross-dressing was one of the early stages of my self-discovery. It allows me to feel more like the gender I truly am on the inside.
HRT is Hormone Replacement Therapy. Basically, it changes the balance of sex hormones in the body. So for me, I'll be blocking male hormones and taking female hormones to supplement.
Hey everyone, trans-girl here~

I've been androgynous my entire life, but I actually started questioning my gender since age 15 or 16 (currently I am 18 and a half). I came out to my mother in mid last year and some of my close relatives in December. I'm currently going through counseling, talked with a psychiatrist and I'm also going to a support group. I still go to school dressed as a boy because coming out would complicate things and school will be over soon anyway. I'm currently working with my counselor to get exempt from miliary service (I live in Israel) and do national service instead. I might also start HRT after school is over.
I find skirts to be very nice, but it's a pain to keep up with shaving my legs. The bottom part of my legs are easy...it's the top area that I have difficulty with. I normally don't shave the top area of my legs because I never wear anything that shows that part.
Might be doing that for my face soon. God damn hate facial hair more than anything.
all hair except the hair on your head is bad,
I'm wondering what happened to all the talk about crossdressing, there used to be lots.
transgirls(mostly) on fp kind of found this haven and all took over it :u
A lot of us can't afford women clothing or don't have any :v:
I use a beard trimmer to shave my legs, it isn't that big of a deal because I kind of like it, but it doesn't really end up making my legs smooth. I'd much rather get it waxed or use that yanking tool thing.
I saw an epilator at the Walmart a few days ago. Those things look scary so I just got this stuff that smooths away your hair. It works and so far no regrowth.

I once waxed my face. It felt awful, and I had to shave afterwards anyway :v:

Anyone else find the final product very attractive?
Wax is expensive.
Anyone else find the final product very attractive?
Indeed.
Kinda jealous :x
I once waxed my face. It felt awful, and I had to shave afterwards anyway :v:
try depilatory cream :v:
spent the next week or so shaving off the flaking skin, as well as the hair that wasn't affected
saying product makes it seem like something you'd buy at the store
That'd be nice, buying a new appearance at the store.
Except for the fact that you'd look like everyone else who bought that same appearance, Oh, and fugitives can abuse it too.
On second thought, that's a really bad idea.
I've been slowly building up my female wardrobe. I've got a bunch of dresses and stuff, but even though I love them I would never wear them in public. At least, not yet. I really wish I could. Even if I didn't pass at all. I would love to have the courage to be able to go out in public wearing one of the dresses I have. I used to cross dress ALL the time in my room, but lately I haven't been doing it as much because it's just not working for me. The more I develop the wrong way, the harder it is to look at myself and accept what I'm looking at.
But yesh yesh, skirts are my favorite. I usually don't get my close-shaving razor out to shave my legs because it takes so damn long, but sometimes I do. It feels so amazing. I love being able to put on a skirt, look at myself from the waist down, and just be happy with what I see.
just get some tights if you're too lazy to shave it all, it covers everything and you wont feel hairy :3
Yeah xD I do have some, but I just really like the way I look with completely shaved legs and a skirt on. Also it feels amazing. I do love tights / high socks as well though. Female clothing is so much more fun :3
just get some tights if you're too lazy to shave it all, it covers everything and you wont feel hairy :3
I actually have tights, but some hairs actually stick out of them so I end up shaving my legs anyway.
I'd actually want to get a nice, thin-ish skirts that goes slightly above my knees with a dark grey with a hint of purple. Skirts are awesome. I could wear it with my knee socks and it'd work great.
Oh well.
I might borrow my sister's leg shaver so I can get a closer cut.
Well a while ago I found out that 15 is too large for me. Like pants hanging down too big. So I got a 13/32 or something like that and they fit fine.
Am I supposed to feel fat?

No, 'cause I'm fat for real.
My sister wears Xtra Smalls and Smalls as well as pants that I know for sure are under 11.
Horzion you didn't tell me what you used to make your legs smooth. Share your secrets.
