Those days when I take a look in the mirror and everything feels more wrong than usual, why do they exist? I need some rest.
Those days when I take a look in the mirror and everything feels more wrong than usual, why do they exist? I need some rest.
Just started thinking about this song for some reason...
Google says "Liberia, Myanmar (a.k.a. “the country formerly known as Burma”, United States of America"
Yeah, three nations. Technically the US has "officially" adopted metric but outside the scientific sector it's pretty much never used. A lot of places here barely even delve into teaching students metric at all as well. I personally think we should just completely abolish the imperial system here. It'd be costly but we really need to just all be on the same system.
I live in Canada. I use metric for everything but height and weight because CBA to relearn it for that because I got sick of converting it for my American friends.
Oh, okay. Your original post was why I had included Canada cause I had thought you guys used metric.
I do find it a bit silly for America to use a completely different system then the rest of the world.
It's extremely dumb in my opinion. If I recall correctly that issue has caused NASA to have some accidents before. So it's obviously not just some benign thing. And considering that metric is used by just about every nation in the world and is based on a more logical premise, it would make more sense to drop the imperial system in favor of metric.
The US had a big push for it a while back but it fell through. They try teaching metric in school but it's always pushed away by everything else and it never really gets fully learned.
I learned the metric system, and I can convert roughly correctly. I'm usually off by a few degrees or pounds, or meters, but I'm in the general area. (within 5-10 degrees, or <3 meters). That's with like, 3 days of actually being taught it. Also, my sister is kinda sick, and I was talking with her and my mom, and my mom thought it was pretty funny that me and her could get together and understand each other waay more than anyone else :3 Made me feel good
I think the reason Americans would have trouble officially switching to metric is the same thing as how Australians call it MIG (Metal Inert Gas, what it used to be) when its actually GMA (Gas Metal Arc, they changed the gas used, so its no longer truely inert, iirc argon was too hard to get so they mixed in carbons and shit... I dunno I'm not a real welder it was just for school projects)

But I tend to use it so rarely that I'm only accurate for about 85-95ºF.
Just ate dinner with my father and he likes to have the radio on. And as I sat down to eat, they began to discuss and talk about the LGBT community. It was in a supportive way, but I felt so much guilt and got all paranoid, asking myself "what if he knows?!" It didn't make it better when they began to inform about how hard it may be for a lot of people to come out, etc etc. Trying to act normal as if I didn't hear or take notice to the radio while also trying to talk about other subjects which I could find in the newspaper..
I think I might have taken that as a chance to tell him. But I'm deathly afriad so I'd probably not be able to do it.

I dont really consider myself trans but the idea of having two bodies, and being able to swap between them (one male one female ofc) is really appealing
I dont really consider myself trans but the idea of having two bodies, and being able to swap between them (one male one female ofc) is really appealing
That couldn't be anything, but convenient.
